@@ABlueDahlia Definitely. Kvitova (quarters) and Azarenka in the semis actually did well to make their matches reasonably competitive. Serena was in awesome form, particularly off the serve.
How desperately i am waiting for this match, Thank you so much for uploading this classic match. Petra lost to Serena in 2010 sf but next year she won the title, in 2012 she was a defending champion ,at her rising level only Serena can beat her
I agree, this was possibly one of Serena's best matches of the decade. A highly anticipated one between her and reigning Wimbledon champ, Petra played very well but Serena also and her SCARY GOOD serve was 100% the deciding factor.
As much as I love Serena I believe it would be wise of her to retire. She's already created her history and her legacy. No young woman is ever going to win 23gs. In this age. It took her over 20yrs to do what she's done.
@@themsharapova8 agreed- I've said a million times! You should be paid for these! I have probs also this a million nagging times- but any of Konta's journeys in 2017 and 19????
Only ignorants and people who never played tennis will not understand how skillful is it to play with such power and precision at the same time as Serena! Players have to choose between power and precision but Serena can be both and thats require to have an almost perfect technic! Serena didnt beat her opponants with power as many people think, she beat them with the precision of her power and this match is the perfect example
Petra always showed the potential to beat Serena. This match could have been a three setter. Anyway, she defeated her the last two meetings. Their level is not that far to me.
@@JCole-fg3rr She beat her at Mutua Madrid Open in 2015, stopping a serie like more than 30 wins, provoking her first loss of the year, and there she was n.1.
Andrea Nicolo De Candia and Serena was injured in that match as well. Serena was dealing with tennis elbow and exhaustion from playing so many matches.
@@JCole-fg3rr In every case she beat her twice and don't forget Doha 2013, where Petra was 4-1 in the third. Serena is greater, but Petra is a quite good rival, i mean.
Two of my three favourite players in wta, the other one being Venus. I miss them. It's sad Petra lost in the 1st round of AO22 and Serena and Venus couldn't play. I hope for more matches between them in the future. The current wta is not that exciting for me.
@Shinobu Tsurubushi Don't be pathetic. Has she hit 24 aces against Vika every match they have played? No. If she's hit 24 aces against Aga in the final, shed have probably lost 6-1 6-0
I miss this level of tennis in the women’s game. Extreme skill, talent, hunger, and focus, personality, and even fashion. The game these days just isn’t as exciting for the women. The men was starting to get boring but Alcaraz has rejuvenated the men’s. Hoping a player comes along in the women’s that will do the same.

Do you have Venus Williams vs Dinara Safina 2009 Wimbledon Semi-final?
@Merita merita you're welcome
We need this Serena for two more slams. That's all I need.
This was peak Serena arguably.. doubt we'll see this level ever again.
Amen

@@FlabbyTitmuss yes. Serena's serve was just off the charts... each time Petra had an opening Serena just hit an ace.

serena's serve is like a tornado
Scary stuff from Serena and such a high-quality ball striking from Kvitova, one of the best Serena's matches from the last decade!

Petra's ball striking is always surprising to watch. She has really solid strike ability.

Kvitova shouted out for the games, but Serena shouted out for the match.
Lol well said
Shinobu Tsurubushi Hey kid! Who's a black racist?
Which part of my sentences does show I'm a racist?
Shinobu Tsurubushi Unfortunately, I think ur a Black racist cuz u used a racial discrimination terms to describe sone's character! R u ok?
Shouted out?
SW’12 on SW’19 was simply untouched
It's a shame she couldn't win in 2019.. would have been iconic.
@@ABlueDahlia why 2019 more iconic than 18?

Andrea Nicolo De Candia beating an injured Serena is no amazing feat. Serena played bad and still won lol.
During this wimbledon 2012 Serena had the most number of aces among men and women... #queen of #tennis #goat
THEM ACES!
Even more incredible considering the men play best of 5

Please upload Serena vs azarenka match in that match Serena hit 27 aces
It was not 27. It was 24. Bettering the 23 she hit against Zheng on R3

Serena had struggled a lot against Kvitova in multiple matches...
Will we ever see another player like Serena??….. at least someone close?
Dis y’all c da hand on da hip challenge go my Lady
2:20 .. i mean.. could your favorite EVER?
I’d love to see Petra play davenport at their best
Smfh with the calls of these line judges shes playing the other players and them also... smfh
Glad Serena beat her all that unnecessary yelling like she getting over on the queen!

Practically every shot in this match, except for second serves, were high risk shots. Very little margin for error if not well struck
I mean.. 02:20 .. that backhand is just a beauty. another at 03:40, 08:15, and at 08:39
Excellent match great shot making from both players and clear picture, thanks to the uploader and publisher
I think Serena was unbeatable in 2012 lol
This is the tournament Serena changed her forehand and game a bit..and results are incredible
Ball placement is everything. Great job Serena
Pourquoi kvitova qui comme un corbeau?
