Thomas Jane actually stabbed Kevin Nash (6'11" beast former WWE wrestler playing "The Russian") during their fight scene in the 2004 Punisher. The take that it happened made the final cut and is what we see in the movie. The genuine surprise Kevin Nash shows as he realizes he has actually been stabbed then he continues to act like nothing is wrong is on point. Granted, doesn't elevate the rest of the movie which is absolute garbage for the most part, but it's still a pretty metal movie factoid. The 2008 movie Punisher : War Zone is the most comic accurate portrayal of the character imo and is really underappreciated. If you like Punisher it is something you should see. Lastly, the ~11 min short "Punisher : Dirty Laundry" where Thomas Jane reprises his role is better than the entire 2 hour film from 2004. Jon Bernthal (the Punisher in this short) stated that he took Jane's performance in the Dirty Laundry short as inspiration for his portrayal as Frank Castle.
