    THANK YOU!!! This video is EXACTLY what I needed to help me to understand which NP specialty to choose to end up being able to work in the ER! I was considering Acute Care- but now I will go with the FNP with a fellowship, which is also available at my (hopeful) NP school OSU. I am doing pre-req. classes currently for their Graduate entry program. Thank you for clarifying that finishing the fellowship program would also make me qualified to become double certified.

    I'm about to graduate as an RN in 6 weeks and I will be working at a Level I trauma ED. I want to get good experience before I decide to get my ENP. This was a very helpful video and well-explained. Thanks for educating us and for being exemplary in your line of profession.

    Hey Ahmed. I've been a RN for 30 years (25 in ER) and was planning to go back for my NP. I want to do both..... Part time in ER, and get involved in rural care for those in needs. We shall see.. Thank you for sharing this. I wish you God's Speed in your career!!🙏

      @@ahmedmirza3458 I'm hoping that although the field is "a bit oversaturated" with NP's, a solid, experienced NP can find work and then "work on" getting the position desired. Lol. Then there are other days when I think, "na, I don't want to go back to school, I want to ride my horse, play music, and be a partner in crime to my grandchildren". Thank you so very much🙏

      @@tracybranch2955 we could be twins! I just got accepted in a program and am torn between which track. I have time to decide. My program allows a switch after the initial didactic…..Go for it! The experience we have to offer is so needed.

    Can ENP do everthing that FNP do? If not, then what are rhe differences between them? I have known that ENP offers both urgent and primary care, and FNP offers primary care.

    • @ahmedmirza3458

      Most if not all ENPs are dual certified FNP & ENP. Usually have to be a FNP to then become certified as an ENP

    so acnp gets the training in those emergency procedures like chest tubes, etc. does enp cert during school give you that same training??

    • @ahmedmirza3458
      @ahmedmirza3458  3 года назад +1

      They get the training to preform them outside of the ED. Like ICU. Right now only FNPs can become ENP certified.

    How many years of ER RN experience would you suggest having before going for FNP/ENP?

    • @ahmedmirza3458
      @ahmedmirza3458  2 года назад +4

      2 years minimum. The more the better or you can do a ER fellowship after NP school.

    I think the only FNP/ENP program in the West coast is University of San Diego (not the UCSD or SDSU). If/when you have time please let me know if what I’ve looked up is true b/c I would love to attend that program..
