Pretty sure everyone already knows this, but just for informing sake: The reason the lime green parts from 2007 were so awful was because of a mixing error. Yes, they were also cooled down wrong, but the reason only the lime green parts were so brittle was because the mix allowed microscopic air bubbles to form during the heating/cooling process. This was the reason as to why they broke down. They were technically hollow and therefore weak to pressure.
@@pugmasterben It was discovered really late and neither buyers retailers or lego would benefit from directly issuing a recall. However maybe their customer service did replacement lime pieces from a non faulty batch.
Ehlek is literally the weakest Bionicle set. The spikes were already bent from the packaging, the squids broke after a few firing attempts and every lime green piece got cracks. It was the best looking Barraki, though, and the claw pieces were neat.
Eljay, you might remember me as that guy who commented on your Mantax video last week saying that I was really excited for your Ehlek video. I just wanted to let you know that I was having a not-so-great day today, but then I saw your Ehlek video had finally been uploaded... you finally reviewed my favorite Barraki... and that really cheered me up. So thank you for that.
Ah yes, my favorite Barraki. Unfortunately, my Ehlek's lime green pieces are starting to crack, but he still stands strong. As to why he's my favorite? Things that don't have lower jaws freak me the hell out. As a result, Ehlek to me, really spelled out the phrase "Creeps from the deep". Plus, story wise, he can go toe to toe with most of the Toa, and has the powers of Electro. A truly awesome set, lime-green pieces aside.
Since that started happening, I had a mini heart attack every time one of the ball joints got disconected, and I would not disassemble any of my future sets because I was afraid to break them
Pietróvitch SweetCheeks I just stopped using lime green altogether. It was a great sacrifice :P If you look at my channel, you won't see a MOC using lime green unless you go WAAAAY down in the videos.

This was my favourite set. My favourite blades to use, my favourite head (thank you karzhani for doing yet another thing right!) and the spines were fun, too.
Ah yes, Ehlek. He was the first BIONICLE, and first in general LEGO set I built. Every day just before I left for school I would put a piece or two on and after about a week I finely finished. Long time compared to the about 30 min it took for Carapar, and speed picked up from there. I have to say though, the green parts thing was definitely discouraging for me, a little under a year of me getting him his hand broke and I had to replace it with a piece from Keelerak, and just recently his left shoulder joint snapped. A con I think you left out and should have mention was the fact that his back spines are made of such a maluable rubber, which when stretched to much, weakens the pin holes that connect them to the back, making them pop off if your not careful.
The Wolverine look really works for Ehlek; he's just so aggressive! And he has probably the best colour scheme of all the Barraki. As for the cracks, my Ehlek was pretty solid, Halhi Mahri though was very fragile and I remember her wing joints breaking.
I remember Ehlek being nearly impossible to find in my city. Even had a race with my friend to see who could find him first, ended in me finding him in a science shop for a bumped up price. Of course as we all know the lime green pieces cracked as soon as I got him together. The claw pieces for me were very loose when you connected them too but could just be bad luck.
I would recommend people use Modge pods to repair the 2007 lime green joints and put lime green nail polish to match it up together so it can be reusable again.
That's a beautiful corn snake Eljay. Also, who was you favorite and least favorite hero and antagonist from bionicle? I always liked Jaller and Pohatu myself. Great reviews, keep up the good work, and try not to get fired.
thethreevirtues Just thought i'd share this but a possible reason for the brittleness in the line green and other pieces could be because of lego's switch to a more cheaper and brittle plastic from that point onward

Because it was only noticeable in Lime Green pieces at first. All Lego Technic pieces are prone to some form of breakage. Majority of the breaks I encounter are pins or axel holes.
