- In today's tutorial, I'm excited to share with you one of my favourite rhinestone projects to date - - a mermaid scale rhinestone tumbler with holographic glitter.
I have to admit, this project was a bit of a challenge for me, but I'm so happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to share the process with you. Along the way, I encountered a few obstacles that made it a bit of a learning curve, but I wanted to show you my process anyway because I was really happy with the end result!

Gorgeous! Did you seal with epoxy?
Thank you! No I didn’t, sealing over rhinestones ruins the way the facets reflect the light, and as long as you’re using proper glue and technique, it’s not necessary! They should be super sturdy 😊 I only used epoxy to seal over the glitter layer.
Did you seal in the rhinestones after applying them?
Nope! The glue is enough to hold them on nice and strong. If you go over the rhinestones with a sealant it will fill in the facets that make the rhinestones sparkle and ruin their dazzling glow ✨
Where did you get your scale if you fontind me asking?
Do you mean the scale pattern I used to cut my vinyl? It was in the Canva elements library under “mermaid scale” !
