Mobb Deep said what REALLY triggered them was Tupac mentioning Prodigy having Sickle Cell Anemia. They thought it was too below the belt, and took it very personal. From there, they were like the war is on. (Sickle Cell is a very physically painful disease to live with. I remember hating Tupac after that, and loving Mobb Deep even more when this came out.)
"Like Basehead pull on steams" is a crack smoking reference.
Facts !
PAC died 2-3 weeks after single was released. Mobb Deep actually pulled this single from rotation. You know Havoc don’t miss on production. This album🔥🔥very underrated compared to Infamous… Murda Muzik album probably even more
They dropped this track in August but the album wasn't released till like October ifi recall.
@@anthonyanderson9303 just edited it, when single was released
I know I say it everytime but this whole album is 🔥
DT= Detective. The Vibe Magazine line refers to the fact that Quincy Jones was one of owners of the magazine, and Pac was dating his daughter Kidada at the time.
Also Vibe was biased and wrote favorable articles about Pac because of his relationship with Kidada.
@@gangstaboogie718 true, but Vibe didn’t really write bad articles about anyone. It wasn’t a critical magazine. The Source would drag you though. Lol
DT is Delirium tremens it's alcohol withdrawal
Mobb Deep lowkey undefeatable in a VERZUZ battle?
I say this all the time… just yesterday some guy was tells EPMD would beat the Mobb. Not even close
@@Havoc0474 yeah bro it's like the same with Nas, ya just keep being reminded of how many bangers they have the deeper ya go in their crates
100%, Mobb > everyone else
This might be the HARDEST Tupac Diss! RIP Prodigy aka HNIC
the mobb was always the onyl ones not scared of pac
I remember when this first dropped. I till get goosebumps to this day🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was a great diss track by mobb
Deep not sure if pac ever heard it cause he was shot in Vegas shortly after but mobb was snapping especially prodigy
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Mobb deep is my second favorite rap groups ever next to wu tang clan.i remember i had that cassette tap in 1996.word up son
Good one.
Windy Williams was the one who spread that like about Pac getting got on the radio.
Good Reaction Homie, Reaction to Pac "When We Ride On Our Enemies " its a classic diss song towards Fugees, Biggie, Mobb Deep and Da Brat
DT is an undercover detective
Classic
Smoked Pac Boots!!
Smoke you like a loosey. Bodegas in NYC would sell you “loose” single cigarettes for a quarter back in the day.
The main reason this song doesn't get talked about is that they did what everyone else did they released these songs on their albums to push record sales and it didn't work because this album was released in November 1996 and 2pac had already died
This song wasn't out long that's why it isn't talked about. They released this on the 25th of August and Pac was killed the 13th of September which at that point Mobb Deep pulled it off the radios out of respect for him. Many people probably never heard it until it came out on their record as it wasn't out too long before they had to pull it off radios.
DT = Detective (Cop)
Man, they went hard at Pac, but little did they know that he’d die before ever getting a chance to respond to it.
pretty sure he recorded winter warz as a response but never released it
Classic diss record. And yeah PAc was way bigger than Mobb Deep. Mobb Deep was gold artists at the time, Pac was multi-platinum multiple times.
Prodigy was dope...rip 🙏🏾
Big facts!
Hi, I like your channel. It would be nice if you react to Jeremias and he's epic as a canserbero, the best rapper in Latin America with very deep lyrics AND THEY ARE SUBTITLED IN ENGLISH
GREETINGS FROM ARGENTINA
Think about what 2pac did in 1996 the first double cd ever 5 million sold in the first 2 months then he released hit em up and then in November he released THE MAKAVELI ALBUM
Nobody had any chance competing
With 2pac
Reasonable doubt was released in 1996 36 thousands copies sold first week
MAKAVELI 675 000 first week
Jay z did not count when 2pac
Was alive
Jay Z was independent and he did great for starting a label from scratch and his debut was a classic Tupac first album wasn't a classic and he was getting jerked
Stop Bro. 2pac can’t suck you off from his grave, and your obsessing to a weird degree.
You really talking record sales
2pac released All eyes on me in February and released HIT EM UP
in June as a b side single with How do you want it it sold 1,.5 million
The single is so big it was part of his greatest hits
The single out sold other artists albums sales
And thats why sales dosent mean much besides commercial success and easy on the ear music for the masses.. cuz this track right here slaughtered Tupac in cold blood...
A crack pipe has a stem
This album got me through some things back in the day. This is a great Mobb song. Havoc killed the beat. They went in on 2Pac. He died just before this album came out. But i always appreciate this cuz on Hit Em Up 2Pac was talking at the end of the song, not really spitting about Mobb Deep. He spit about Biggie and Bad Boy. So Prodigy and Hav got at him. Prodigy even said too bad you did it to ya own self. Cuz its said that 2Pac shot his self once in quad studios pullin out his gun during the robbery. Think fast or get reminded 🔥🔥🔥🔥. You were spot on about the creativity part. That's what separates basic from kings.
Check out M.O.P.- Power
Basehead=crackhead stem=crackpipe
Pac died in September of 96
Drop a Gem on Em was a better diss song than Hit ‘Em Up imo, even tho I’m a bigger Tupac fan than of Mobb Deep.
the song is dope but im with my boy 2pac ... those pxssys drop this late after pac die
Wrong Pac died like 2-3 weeks after and they pulled this off the radios
You’re loud and wrong fam.
This was released before Pac died and they pulled it off the radios when he passed.
Mobb Deep killed Tupac on this song
Actually he was already dead...👀
@@eddiegarcia8040 song was dropped on 25th of August, 1996. Pac was killed 13th of September 1996. He was still alive when they put this released it.
Double xxx pose. not gonna be able to do do it video.a classic old school rap music video.word up son
