Using the Parking Spot (off-site parking) at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

- The use of off-site parking, through businesses like the Parking Spot, can be a cost-saving alternative to the more expensive airport-operated parking lots. Some people may be hesitant to use off-site parking when they fly out of the Atlanta Airport because of their unfamiliarity with the concept or how to do it. This video will demonstrate my most recent trip where I used the Parking Spot and how it operates.

As a member of the parking spot family. Thank you for showing this to other potential guests on the ease of using the parking spot! It really is that easy.
Thank you for making this content like this. I am a cautious traveler in the light to know what I’m getting into before I get into it. So thank you for helping me explore the Atlanta airport. This will be my first time going there and your videos has helped my family make great decisions about parking.
Thanks for the comment and views! It truly makes me happy that my videos are used for the exact purpose that I intended them to be used - to help travelers be informed and make their trips a little less stressful. I hope you and your family have a great trip!
Thank you, for this video. It is very helpful.
Thanks for the comment and view. I’m glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much! I knew it had moved but had no idea to where.
Thank you!
Nice beat
Thanks!
Wowww. I really liked this video especially showing what the INSIDE of the bus looks like. For me, that really helped because I was curious to see if there was handicapped area for wheelchairs or a lift but I didn't see one so I'm assuming they do not offer handicapped pick up on their shuttles, correct? Idk why NONE of these off-site companies have handicapped busses. It would really help us out but thanks for showing this video.
When I searched The Parking Spot’s website it said this - “Are your shuttles wheelchair accessible?
Our shuttles are not wheelchair accessible. But you can arrange to be dropped at your terminal in your vehicle and then have your vehicle brought back to our facility and valet parked! Please contact the General Manager at the local facility for additional information and to make arrangements.” The list of numbers can be found at- support.theparkingspot.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053458314-Do-you-offer-handicapped-parking-
Thank you for this video! New to ATL airport...Do the shuttles drop off at one specific terminal or do they do a loop around? Thanks again!
I have the same question. Please let me know if you find out.
Hey there I had a little trouble when I was on vacation. When the shuddle stopped at delta airlines I didnt know that I was supposed to get off there. So what happened is ingot off at southwest side and got lost. So can u do a video that will help me know when to get off at the right stop??? Thank u. And sorry for the trouble
I am actually planning on doing a video in the near future showing how the domestic terminal (both the north and south sides) are connected and easy to move between. Once you figure this out it doesn’t matter which side you get out on because it’s just a short walk inside the terminal to the other side. Also, no need to apologize, these videos are fun to make and I like helping people feel more comfortable traveling. I remember the first time I stepped into ATL and I had no idea what I was doing - by doing these videos I hope to ease the anxiety of ATL travelers.
@@bozy106 thank u
When you park. Are they notified to pick you up from your car. And the pick up points when arriving back is there a designated spot. Were flying back in southwest and flying out on delta
I don't know their method, but every single time that I use them there is a shuttle that pulls up to our vehicle to collect us and our luggage, usually within 1 or 2 minutes. I am certain that I've never waited more than 2 minutes for them to pick us up. Usually there are only one or two cars entering the parking lot at a time and I'd imagine that they just watch the incoming cars. Often we are alone on the shuttle to the airport, sometimes their will be a couple of other people, but only sometimes.
As far as the pickup point (door LN1 - which stands for Lower North 1), the shuttles all just park along the sidewalk. I don't believe there are particular spots that they use. All of the shuttles (of all off-site parking lots) are vibrantly colored and prominently display the companies name so there's no way to miss it.
Sometimes, the shuttle may have just left the sidewalk when you exit, but the driver will have given you a card with your parking spot number (so he'll know where to take you) and this card will also have a telephone number to call if there is not a shuttle present when you exit the airport.
I hope I answered your question, if not, feel free to ask again...
@@bozy106 thanks for thr reply. I'm on thr site now and it states that the waits can be up to 15 mins to get to airport
@@punkintravels I’ve never waited over 2 minutes to get picked up. The trip itself can take 10 minutes or so depending on traffic.
@@bozy106 gotcha. I made reservations. Gotta be there by 430am.. so we'll see. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the video
@@punkintravels when I’ve had an early flight, like you obviously have, there have been TSA agents riding the shuttle going to work. Apparently they often use these off-site lots to park when going to work.
Do you get a designated spot when you check in or you can to park at any random spot?
You can park in any available spot in the category that you have chosen. (Uncovered self parking or covered self parking). Of course if you choose the valet parking option, which cost more, staff will park your car in a special covered area in a spot of their choosing.
@@bozy106 thanks 👍
They do international flights drop off as well? Sorry if that's a dumb question
@@user-dz2pz3ol7p they do! Parking spot 2 is used for international travel, i used them a few months back
What if the lot for which I have a reservation states that it is full? Can that happen?
I’ve went several times with a reservation and when I’ve arrived the lot said “full” but I’ve never had any problem getting in or finding a spot.
How do you get to the south terminal from the north terminal
Excellent question! The terms “north terminal” and “south terminal” makes it sound like they are two different structures but in fact they are both parts of the same building. It would actually make more sense if they called it the “north side” and “south side” of the domestic terminal instead. In between the south side/terminal) and the north side/terminal there is a large atrium with stores and some food places (kinda like a mini mall). All it takes to get from one side to the other is walk from one side of the terminal to the other (maybe a football field length). There is nothing complicated like out-of-the-way halls or doors or trains - just a simple stroll.
If you check out another one of my videos ruclips.net/video/JV-syTsT_SQ/видео.html at time mark 2:44 you can see a diagram of the general layout of the domestic terminal and how north and south are linked.
Aww okay thanks. The off-site parking I’m using only uses the north terminal to drop off so I didn’t know plus this will be my first time flying
@@tiaorr1169 when they drop you off just head straight into the doors and make your way to the other side. The signs at ATL airport are great.
Please where can I find hotel shuttle when I arrive at the south baggage claim (delta)?
Here is a link to a page on the Airport’s official site: apps.atl.com/passenger/groundtransportation/default.aspx . Select “Hotel Shuttle” on that page and it will expand to give a description of where to go and even a link to an airport map illustrating where hotel shuttle pickup is.
@@bozy106 dude you a timesaver 🌞
@@goodluckdaa9190 I’m glad I could help. I hope you have a great trip!
@@bozy106 please how is the security at the airport... Will someone steal your luggage before you get there?
@@goodluckdaa9190 I have never had that problem or have recently heard of anyone having that problem. A year or so ago ATL did have a guy that was a serial luggage thief but they locked him up. Usually if you walk straight to baggage claim, maybe stop at the bathroom, you will usually arrive about the same time the luggage from you flight starts coming out onto the carousel.
Like How long does the shuttle takes to get to your terminal ?
About 5-10 minutes usually.
@@bozy106 sorry it’s my first…and flying back how do they know you’re back or there’s multiple shuttles driving around?
@@salvadormejia2497 there are typically shuttles sitting at the airport waiting to take you back. They run multiple shuttles at the same time.
@@bozy106 ohh ok well thank you so much I appreciate you
@@salvadormejia2497 no problem…hope you have a great trip!
Are there hotels nearby you recommend?
I personally would stay at one of these:
- Four Points by Sheraton Atlanta Airport West (next to The Parking Spot off-site parking)
- Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel (Has airport runway view rooms)
- AC Hotel by Marriott Atlanta Airport Gateway (next to ATL West parking deck & SkyTrain to Airport),
however there are many fine and safe hotels beyond these...
Thanks!
My plan was to use The Parking Spot. I was looking at the Four Points hotel and it offers free shuttle to the airport. How does that work with your vehicle?
@@teefclikracing8208 I am uncertain about the hotel shuttle because I always just drive to The Parking Spot and ride their shuttle to the airport. The Parking Spot’s shuttle is very quick and you usually don’t have to wait more than one minute before it pulls up to your car (because they have multiple shuttles running at one time)
