oh my gosh tysm i haven’t used my watch in a while because my phone shatters from the half down, and worked for a while till the screen went black, and never turned on and j wanted to use my watch, but all the texts were from the old phone and i couldn’t recive texts. thank you!!

I was trying to reset my watch because my watch is connected to my broken iPhone but before I tried it, a message saying “erasing will not remove activation lock which prevents someone else from using this Apple Watch if list or stolen…to remove lock, first unpair Apple Watch before erasing it”. So do I have to get the activation lock in my original paperwork for my watch first??
Is there a way to do this without erasing the data? I.e. I want to pair it to my new iphone.

Your icloud instructions did not work. The “erase apple watch” feature did not remove the watch from ‘Find My’ nor did it remove Activation Lock. It only removed the content on the watch and reset it.
It didn’t work for me. And now I have lost all my informations. Watch still can’t pair with the new phone

How do I pair without losing my voice memos they’re very important.. I broke my phone a few months back.. and my new haven’t haven’t been connected to the Apple Watch ever since.. I have important voice memos that I don’t wanna lose is there any way for u to help me?
What if the previous owner is deceased? 🤔 Is the watch then useless if there is no way to use the watch if there is no access to the Apple ID and the activation lock cannot be removed?

I can’t use the phone it’s paired to. This did not help at all. I have to unpair it before I reset it. It’s says to unpair before erasing it.

What if my iphone is broken and I cant access to my old icloud because its broken. i can reset the iwatch but cannot connect to the new phone because it was connected to old phone. its useless.
icloud cannot be broken. Only hardware things can be broken but nothing online like icloud. You just have to re-enter your icloud account after the reset
