  • Starting my StepDeck Journey As A Owner Operator Working solely on the Truckstop/DAT Loadboard. Texas open deck has always been a good market but due to over capacity of trucks the market is so unpredictable. Watch me struggle to find loads that pays descent out of the Texas with a stepdeck trailer.

4 reefer loads in El paso last Monday, paying crap, deadheaded home. Parked it, wont be part of the bottom feeders. I know some have no choice and I wish them the best.

I agree boss… I do wish people the best. I’m with you I just can’t operate at these current rates. It’s not god long term.

Try to do 2 short loads and one long load over the weekend. Get into a routine. It's not important what each load pays. It’s the accumulation of loads for the month. You always get some low paying loads mixed with good paying. Don't view it load by load, view month by month gross income. Shoot for a certain amount per month

Yeah I try to do something in that caliber. What I don’t like too much about short runs is the margin of error is a lot higher. Such as being help up a few days on a short run you know. I do agree tho. Gotta adapt and overcome.

@412hwc You keep rejecting loads loads...you will be sitting around wasting time and fuel. Unless it's way to low then fine.

@@jerseycowboy1 i mean, you cant reject loads. only people who reject loads are guys who get loads offered to them through their company...very rarely, specially being new will a broker reach out to u...i mean u can post your trucc n all that buut all ive ever gotten with that was spam calls and dog shit lol....but what im tryn to say is...its always about tha rate man...this is business.. if the numbers on tha rate dont exceed what it cost you to operate. than your taking a loss. soometimes u end up taking a loss here and there i get that but for u to say dont look at the revenue run 3-4 short loads than a long one it will add up is pretty bad business advice

The reason you are in my top 3 to watch is because you are so straight forward. You show the load board and discuss the issues or concerns with different loads. Keep it up!
