    If anyone confused why he is multiplying by the previous permutation, it is because he is initialising one color and takes normal permutation for the others and adds them , similar to recursion

    • @roemerblom6343
      @roemerblom6343 9 лет назад

      1st drink + a sandwich. This has 6 possibilities.
      2nd drink + a sandwich. This also has 6 possibilities.
      3rd...
      4rd...

      5 times 6 possibilities = 30

    I am trying to solve the problem of emails. Let’s say there are three members A, B and C on a team. I see the following email interactions - - A sends a mail to B
    - B sends a mail to A
    - A sends a mail to C
    - C sends a mail to A
    - B sends a mail to C
    - C sends a mail to B
    - A sends a mail to both B and C
    - B sends a mail to both A and C
    - C sends a mail to both A and BIs this a problem of permutation? If I use the formula for permutation, I get the answer 12 (i.e. 3P2 + 3P3) whereas the above shows only 9 interactions. What am I missing?

    • @Extraordinary10s
      @Extraordinary10s 6 лет назад +1

      The three permutations you’re missing is:
      1) A sends mail to C and B
      2) B sends mail to C and A
      3) C sends mail to B and A
      Don’t forget, according to the definition of permutation, order matters so “A” sending mail to B and C ......is different from “A” sending mail to C and B. I hope you get it.
