He got so much flak in his last year ... but he beat rossi, he beat marc, he beat lorenzo, he even beat stoner. He never got the title, but he truly deserved it.
He certainly didn't deserve any flak. In the end I think that Honda developed their bike so much for Marquez and his style that it just didn't suit Pedrosa in the slightest. It's a shame he never got a MotoGP title, but in a way, as he explains himself, what he gave and the way he conducted himself will be remembered more fondly by people like me than if he'd won several MotoGP titles, Pedrosa is correct it's not all about the results.

Its not easy to make a comeback after an injury and compete on the same level, but after 14 major surgeries and numerous other injuries, Dani showed the world one can always become better at what they do even after a setback, if they love what they do.... Always a huge championship contender in motogp, a softspoken and brilliant rider..... this documentary is a great tribute to the legend!

@@250txc For me personally, I use the word respect because, I respect someone who can make a tough decision like this. I think staying around and possibly getting hurt, hurting someone else, or not being 100% in it to win it, just to get a check is what some people do. This man chose to walk away when he was clearly still a top rider because it seems he felt like he had nothing else to prove. I guess I just feel like it's admirable to step out before you're just a shell of your former self. Respect does have many meanings and, it probably gets used a little more than needed, like amazing or love etc. Lol... hard for me to describe it but, I hope it helps in understanding my use of it in this case!

Very close, special people to me have died, one of my kids lost the gift of sight... and it would seem easy to trivialize an athlete who, like you say, "made a sack of money". The human condition is complex. Of course the farmer, the soldier, etc. they all deserve respect. Nobody knows what we endure inside and I'm not here to judge, just to admire those people who achieve the pinnacle of their profession, like Dani did, and I don't think that the fact that others have also struggled in life, takes away from his accomplishments, so I join with all the others who express respect and thanks to Dani Pedrosa for giving it his all and giving us so many great moments, and for quitting before killing himself, which would be an unnecessary tragedy for all who know him and follow him. It’s crystal clear what respect means. Look it up in the dictionary. It all applies.
He’s one of the few guys who just got his head down and got on with it. Worked hard and raced as hard as he could.
Initially I didn’t like him, until I saw some interviews and “background” scenes of him... and I realised he’s just quiet and wants to get on with it - not parade for the tv cameras.

One of the best rider I've ever seen on a racetrack. I was really impressed with how he looked like a dancer while riding, smooth and accurate at the same time.

I always admired Dani for the way he has carried himself as a person through his MotoGP career and how even after some bad injuries he always got up and carried on.
I know he got some stick in the press in the past about his personality which I thought was unfair. You can see a bit of his true personality come out in this short documentary.

Currently there is no one in MotoGP that matches his smooth and flowing style. Never brutal, never rough, capoeira, poetry in motion. I really miss him, always humble, always nice yet pushing to the max.
Oh man I cried in the end. What a guy. I have followed MotoGP since I was a kid back in 2002. I am a Rossi fan but I have always wanted to see Dani take one Championship with him in the bag, he really deserved it and I feel so sad for him. One of the most humble and really down to earth guys that have raced on that grid. Man he is missed.
He was so quiet and hard working, not flashy, that it was easy to overlook what an outstanding sportsman and determined champion he was, this was a great tribute to him 👌

I have great respect for this athlete, Dani Pedrosa, a true fighter and a gentleman on the track, an exemplary rider who had a lot of bad luck with injuries but who gave everything to the end to be MotoGP champion and offer the maximum show to fans of this sport. Dani the type of guy we all aspire to be. What an exceptional human.
A wonderful documentary on a very special human being and superb athlete. It dawned on me there is something about Dani Pedrosa and Felipe Massa that I find similar. Both gentlemen, both fair, both very fast (the fastest at times), both low profile and unpretentious. And both lacked the proper good luck at certain key times in their careers. Obviously 2012 was for Dani what 2008 was for Massa, and for those years, and for their nobility of spirit as well as their talent, they will never be forgotten.

The only rider that got me into motogp. Although he never won championship at motogp level but he is the kind of person i admired both on and off track. I miss him 😭 which is why i watch this video again for nth times

So often dudes think they need the maximum horsepower for the most fun. But, no one needs 1.300 cc and 180 hp to enjoy riding a motorcycle. The excessive power is a matter of ego and insecurity. And, as my wife says, to compensate for a small penis sometimes. I am writing this because I own a 1978 Husqvarna CR 360 fitted with minor improvements, but essentially original, which I have owned and maintained for years, and is a blast to ride. I wouldn't trade it for a modern KTM 4 stroke for anything in the world. But maybe I would trade it for a 1968 Husqvarna Viking 360 model... ; º )

Chico Bicalho i ride a 1190 ktm 150hp, and i have 21cm penis, not always both things are relationated, someones enjoy the big aceleration, and others enjoy relaxed cruising 🤷♂️
@@chicobicalho5621 I bought a 2000 ZX-12R because the last bike I had pre children was the ZX-11. I love my bike, I've almost killed myself on it, but I'll never get rid of it. I'm now after my last incident this year considering a much smaller bike for daily riding, but still love the power and sound of my Ninja...I actually respect it now!

Beautiful documentary on one of the best of his generation. I didn't cry on the retirement of Casey Stoner, the rider coz of whom I started watching MotoGP. But on Dani's retirement I wept like a kid lost his icecream. I salute to him. 👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

You came into that final season racing so brilliantly and suffered so much misfortune in the early races. 2018 Should have been great for you but you got mugged! When you announced your retirement, I lost interest in watching MotoGP, right there and then.
