Omar - he played great shot on the pink, but actually once you "get it" - it is almost an auto shot - he's probably played that shot 100s of times, once you realise it doesnt need too much pace, because of the thin angle (speed stays on the white) - it is just getting the cushion before middle pocket, too hard and you go the other side and in-off in the yellow pocket :) - Spend 10 minutes at your club and you'll be able to do it !!!

Hi Barton Snooker, I really do like your videos. My friend is a professional Snooker player, so when ever I have a question I can ask him. His answer always is. Just aim be focused and shoot the shot. And that’s really affective, it helps a lot, you create your own style. What’s your statement ( of course it’s only for players who do know the basics) Well my question is, is it helpful to play with left sidespin when you pot a red in the right corner? Or with rightenside when you play in the left corner. Because you can hit the ball fuller, so is it a advantage? Thank you! Greetings from Swiss
Hi there. Lots of players use side as you describe. Left when potting to your right..... Right when potting to your left. You don't have to do that, it's just some players naturally end up playing in that style. There is no advantage to doing it this way particularly. Lots of players actually do it without even realising this is how they play.
You are correct when you say that by playing with running side you can hit the object ball fuller. The advantage to this is that it offers more resistance to the cue ball which in turn gives you more control for the cue ball so yes it is an advantage.
It’s so easy to take content for granted because it’s so easy accessible but on behalf of myself and probably plenty others thank you very much! Great break 👍🏻
U said that when we use side its tough because when u hit the right side it goes to left then change its trajectory...so if u play close shot like u did on pink and played extreme left side...did u aim to the left side of the pink..?
When you were on that last pink, with that lefthand side topspin. How are you working out were to hit the pink with the deflection on the ball. Are you still aiming exactly the correct angle or compensating for the deflection which would mean not hitting the correct angle.???
Hi Kevin. I am allowing for the amount of left hand side applied to the white ball. So because I'm playing that shot at a pretty hard pace, I have to aim thinner than I normally would, the left hand side then throws the cue ball to the right, and hits the pink at the correct point to pot it. That's all experience and lots of touch and feel. Imagine taking a free kick in football. Kicking the ball and bending it around the wall and into the top of the net! That's all done by feel and experience. I'm doing the same thing on the pink 🙂
I've seen you play the black with screw to get in the yellow from a similar position. Any reason you didn't do that this time? Great video pal. love the head cam ones that you do espescially with commentary 👍
Hi Dermot, Thanks for watching 🙂 I think the only reason I didn't play the black that time, was that it was my first time using the head-cam and it felt a bit weird with something on my head. The pink was a slightly harder pot, but with automatic position. I'd have had to play the black with reverse side and time it really well. That's the only reason really.
@@BartonSnooker oh ok then that makes sense. I thought the black with reverse side would have been the harder shot to play and that's why you chose the pink. Either way superb stuff any idea when your next video will be coming?

06:48 just wondering would that not be better as a slight screw/stun shot than roll through to avoid potentially being snookered by pink ? perhaps too much power needed?
You're right about the power. Much more power and accuracy required if I stun it. And also, the margin of error for placing the white is tiny. Slightly too much screw and I end up low on the red and then HAVE to play a cannon. If I would have had slightly more angle on that pink, I indeed would have played the shot you suggest.
Hitting the potting point on the white ball (where we need to hit the object ball) was a discussion I had with Mark Selby a few months back. He reckoned not to do that because of unintended side, I presume he must of meant if our cue delivery was not spot on straight. Any thoughts Steve?
BartonSnooker - it’s how I’ve always played the game and if you watch your own video back, look at where you’re striking the white on most shots. It is the contact point on the object ball.
@@believeandachievelifesucce221 I've never ever visualised the game in that way. I'm just playing to pot the object ball with a touch of 'helping side'. Good idea
It seems to me you’ve cued up with a trace of left then (Judd-like) hit centre, or was it just the head am position causing parallax?
I'm aiming with left and hitting with a bit of left (I'm I'm potting to my right). If I'm potting to my left, I'll aim with right hand side. It's called helping side. Some players play like that, others don't.
Do a vid please
@@colinscott147 I will as so many people have asked about it 🙂
Bloody brilliant break make it look easy but its far from it 👍👍👍
i m not quite sure, perhaps it‘s due to the camera angle, it seems to me that you aim a bit on the left hand side of the cue ball, even for some short range shots without hitting the cushion? correct me if i m wrong, great video anyway, keep safe!
I’ve been playing on/off for 25 years. I can always visualise them shot but end up missing them completely. How is it some days I’m good and other days struggle to hit Red & a colour. I’m sure if my game was tweaked I’d be much better.
Camera is facing ceiling after every shot before the cue ball stops ,, 😂😀
Very nice vid 👍🏼
@bartonsnooker i made a billiards drill designed off of one of your snooker drills would you be down to give it a watch for me and give me some feedback
Cor, feel like I'm at sea, but I have just come back from the pub.
Ha! It's not a great video to watch if you've had a couple of drinks 😁
I counted 13-15 shots that you played with center white ball. Can this be true, or is it camera perspective?
I play most shots with a touch of helping side. Unless the pot is dead straight, I'll play everything just off centre.
Excellent effort, not sure how you manage that while talking and with a camera on your head. Why are you not a pro?
Super good one.👍🇬🇧👍😲
BIB - barton is best always
