My favorite for Lich King aside from Darth Vader is Malthael (Diablo.) It's really thematic and it's a pretty good legacy amongst the WoW and Diablo community. It's also got great animation potential

You mentioned Omnimon and Susonoomon as opponents for the DBZ fusions, which is based already, but I'd like to throw Imperialdramon into the ring as an option. Not only does he share the "fusion that exists for hype bullshit" connection, but also looking at Davis and Ken's Imperialdramon specifically he's also the fusion of (the partners of) the protagonist plus their reformed former villain who was considered a royal conqueror of another world. I also think Imperialdramon might have a bit more animation potential than the other 2. Omnimon and Susanoomon don't really do any form changes after they fuse, unless you're specifically using Royal Knight Omnimon to give him X-Antibody, or if there's some way to give Tai and Matt's Omnimon access to Merciful Mode without outside help (idk, haven't watched Tri). With Imperialdramon, you could have him form change through Paildramon (who is closer in size), Dragon Mode, Fighter Mode, and Paladin Mode while the DBZ fusions are changing their hair color.
if you really want to stretch for forms without doing a composite omnimon, in adventure 2020 he could basically change between standard omnimon and alter: S at will. in the final fight he was able to switch both arms between wargreymon and blitzgreymon on the left, and metalgarurumon and cresgarurumon on the right. otherwise, omnimon would need to be composited for the X-antibody or use outside help to reach merciful mode.
@@SlimeBot64 Ah, I did not actually know that, since I haven't seen Adventure 2020. That makes me want Gogeta vs Omnimon even more. I generally prefer the connections of Tai and Matt's Omnimon for the matchup over the Royal Knight despite the lack of Omnimon X, so that definitely helps the move variety.
As I recall Paladin Mode required Omnimon's data, so it's not standard. But Imperialdramon is a solid alt for both Gogeta and Vegito, I just like the others more for personal reasons

Good video as always! For me, I find ViA from Mega Man XDiVE to be Xeno Trunks‘s best MU. It‘s thematic, has awesome animation potential, awesome music potential and it’s overall just awesome. The connections if anyone here is interested; Both are a alternate version of one of the most popular characters in their respective franchises (Zero and Trunks) and who also uses a sword. Both series’s premise is that it is your mission to correct their worlds and timelines from corruption and acknowledged the fact that they are Gacha video games (XDive is about saving the memories and data from corruption as a Gacha phone game, and Xenoverse is about correcting the timelines from altering time shenanigans, and is also known to be a Gacha card game) Both fight villains who use dark energy to corrupt and control people (Maverick Virus and Dark Ki) It is their mission to support you, the player to correct these errors by being either a Navi or by fighting alongside you. They also teach the player how to fight at the start of the game, basically being a bit of a mentor for every player out there. Both have similar personalities, in that when they are in battle, they act like their canon counter part, overly serious and down to earth, but they are also aloof and jovial when they are with people. Both work with a woman who is the gatekeeper of the timelines/worlds (RiCO and Chronoa) and you, the actual player to keep these worlds in safety. Fight potential: Imagine Zero Vs Trunks, but more. ViA primarily uses the same abilities as Awakened Zero and Zero Nightmare, such as Shin Messenkou, Shingetsurin, and Genmu Zero. Later battles are similar, except that ViA uses additional attacks, gaining Absolute Zero's Crimson End in the event Pulsing Force of Destruction, and Omega's Arc Blade and Ranbu in the event Summon the Dark Blue Hunter, so he basically a composite version of all the Zero‘s of every Mega Man game. And Trunks has his usual kit and some other techniques but you know this already probably. So you could have a epic sword fight between them with lasers and other effects happening around them, like wherever they fight, its starts to glitch away like in a video game. And have them talk to their partner (RiCO and Chronoa) by having to relay on them giving tips and what to do next. They also could summon various characters of their franchise to add on the battle (Have ViA summon the fake Zero‘s from the X and Zero games and Trunks summons the past versions of his canon self) It would probably start with them thinking that the other shouldn’t be there and thinking that the other tries to corrupt some timeline that they are currently on. Music: It’s Mega Man and Dragonball, enough said it’s going to be a guaranteed banger. It’s would be a remix of every theme song that the canon version of these guys had into one singular song.
Mysterious Heroine XX from Fate is also an extremely good opponent for Xeno Trunks. But also, X, the X DiVE versión is also making the rounds against Xeno Goku. So DiVE vs Héroes is maybe becoming a thing, hehe.
Personally, if I were to pick which matchups I'd want to see some of these characters return for, it would be: Tanjiro and Nezuko vs. Edward and Alphonse from Fullmetal Alchemist (though a solo fight between Nezuko and Alphonse also works) Jonathan vs. Leon Belmont from Castlevania Homelander vs. Iron Patriot from Marvel Sauron vs. Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda The Lich King vs. The Witch-king of Angmar from Lord of the Rings (even if the Lich King already fighting another LotR character kinda just makes this matchup redundant) Izuku vs. Hajime Hinata/Izuru Kamakura from Danganronpa Vegito vs. Pneuma from Xenoblade Chronicles
Personally, my most wanted MU for The Superhero Squad Show (and most wanted just in general) is Kirby Vs Superhero Squad Galactus. It’s funny and I love it.
note: toon force, in this context is used as a power all characters who's power scaling is directly proportional to how funny and/or entertaining a feat would be according to writers when it comes to Spongebob and any toon force powered characters, the rule is basically if they are the protagonist, they will always win, and if they are antagonist they will always lose, with battles always lasting long enough to be entertaining and/or funny, so fight between two toon force powered protagonists will always be a draw, because both can only win, and two toon force antagonists will always be a draw because they can only lose
Apocalypse has a non-DC alt in the form of Asimov/Demerzel from Azure Striker Gunvolt. They're two men who were discriminated against due to their mutations and took revenge against mankind, taking on ideals of only the strong surviving. Both rely on symbolic warriors to fight on their behalf despite their immense power, Apocalypse with his horsemen of the Apocalypse and Asimov with his "King" and "Queen" of Adepts, who they typically force into this position against their will. Both would be opposed by cyborg warriors in alternate futures where they took over the world, Copen and Cable, and their rise into power would be ultimately enabled by these warriors in the past (A younger Copen's gun letting Asimov kill Gunvolt and take over Sumeragi and Cable's Techno-Organic Virus greatly strengthening Apocalypse). Both also have the first mutation in their series chronologically, Asimov's Septima coming from the first Adept and Apocalypse being considered the First Mutant. It's a massive stomp in Apocalypse's favor since even if you only scale Apocalypse to Semi-Heralds he's still at least Planet level, while Asimov only upscales from wiping out the planet's surface, but at least Apocalypse can't absorb Asimov's lightning, so he has that going for him, and it is possible that he is powerful enough to compare to a Gunvolt who was able to regenerate from the destruction of his soul. Asimov is pretty charismatic, and Apocalypse was pretty fun in his own episode, not to mention Asimov isn't a flying brick which would lead to different choreography from Black Adam. I prefer the likes of Lord Belos and Kessler from inFAMOUS for Asmiov, but this is still good.

Only thing I can say. Is that Mystery Dungeon Grovyle is likely better for Silver than Mystery Dungeon Celibi. Alternate versions of anthropormortic characters who go back in time to prevent a tragedy that destoryed their future. Who thanks to manipulation from a shadow themed villain, ended up being seen as a villain, thanks to their morally grey actions. However, when their motivation and origins were revealed, officially joined the protagonists to stop said shadowy villain and the god who destoryed their world. However I do think Grovyle is better for Game Silver. But still works.
I could see Lich King being matched up against Makuta Teridax from Bionicle. Both started as heroes with _questionable methods,_ before falling pursuit of greater power and betraying all they once stood for, going on to become massively powerful main antagonists. Both are also not traditionally alive anymore- Arthas is undead, and Teridax evolved into a gaseous entity. They also had cursed artefacts associated with them: Arthas' sword and armour, and Teridax's mask, which fires shadow-bolts at anyone who touches it that isn't a member of his own species. Teridax also inflicted a deadly plague on the people he was supposed to defend, which would turn those who succumbed to it into his slaves, and his essence was a green fog that could also be used to control the minds of other beings, and fully possess non-sentient bodies. The only challenge there is finding measurable feats for Terry. He had a massive array of powers (because Lego made too many colours of collectible slug), but only about 8/42 were actually shown being used in the story, and those we do have measures for are almost entirely in-universe (IE: saying it can do serious harm to a Toa) rather than numbers and areas of effect. Also there's the "Should we count the GSR as part of Teridax's arsenal" thing, because it was technically his destined true form, and a permanent alteration to his being (he assumed control of the GSR at the end of 2008's story, and it was his body for the rest of his life, until his death at the end of 2010's story), but it's also not something he could achieve in the middle of a battle. DB has bent rules like that before, but not consistently. Also animating a planet-sized robot when the opponent isn't also a planet-sized entity would be a bit nuts. Still, I could see it as a pretty amazing finisher, having Arthas destroy Teridax's armour, only for the ground they were fighting on to move and stand up, before Teridax retaliates with a gravity beam that crushes the world in on itself.
I have a proposition! The idea here is an entire themed season full of characters who have already been on the show. More specifically each matchup would have two returning characters ala Doctor Doom Vs Lex Luthor and Vegeta Vs Thor. The actual challenge there would be self explanatory of not only coming up with good matchups, but ones that would make sense in a way that, if the episode they already had didn’t happen then this character would’ve been who they fought Like Darth Vader Vs Lich King, Deku Vs Rock Lee, Ragna Vs Guts (those may not be great ideas, but they’re just examples I felt I should bring up anyhow)
For Xeno Trunks, I have a matchup for him that might seem, and probably is, a bit crazy. Xeno Trunks vs Polygon Donut. Both are characters that came from the future to prevent their bad timeline from happening, and were assigned the task of protecting the new timeline by a God. The fact that this is a pretty even fight scares me. Reading over that I realize that there aren't as many connections as I thought. Still, it's a dumb matchup.
One day, I just hope that one day, we'll get the Chosen Undead vs Dragonborn. This matchup is dear to my heart, and I don't care if its a stomp in Dragonborn's favor. If you put the man who was gifted with the power of gods at birth against the man that lived a shitty life and yet will not surrender even after death. The fact that their arsenal counters eachother very well; Conjuration vs Rapport, Unrelenting Force vs Poise, The sheer power of eachother's damage spells. Chosen undead may be outmatched, but when has he ever not been. This match needs to happen.
The Tarnished might end up working better since they can at least perform plenty of Dragon shouts to match with the Dragon born. Plus, they've got the strength to resist blows from Rodahn with a shield despite what their Strength score or Shield level is, which by powerscalers logic would be OP durability (if only the gameplay actually worked with that since the Tarnished can still be 2-3 shotted even with 99 Vigor.)
@@debater452 My knowledge of the Dragonborn's scaling is rusty due to having not played the game in a significant amount of time, but considering how the Dragonborn killed Alduin in the Nord's equivalent to Valhalla an argument could be made that they scaled to the Aesir of real-world mythology. That said, I always thought that the Grey Warden could kill the Dragonborn so I'm probably not the best person to try scaling the Dragonborn's feats.
A matchup ive seen floating around was Vegito (DBS) Vs. Pneuma (Xenoblade chronicles 2) The similarities between them are fusing when they had no option left, blue hair, getting a completely new attire when fused, and….that’s it 😂 But ngl I think she could hold her own against him and possibly even win due to her powers.
There's also the fact that they fight with the use of OP Sword (Vegito's Spirit Sword and Pneuma literally is the Aegis'), they're fusions happened by the use of a jewelry construct (the potara earrings and the Aegis crest), and you know, they fought against enemies that tried to destroy the universe.

@@karbyboi8489 When it comes to power Vegito has this in the bag. But when we bring other things into the equation, then that's when things get complicated. Not to surprising as Pneuma is a JRPG character, so status modifiers are crazy. I still think Vegito wins, but it's pretty close.
once again, Accelerator vs Tetsuo will remain to be the best Testuo matchup. Both are villains that has telekenesis powers but Accelerator went from full blown villain to Anti-Hero. Tetsuo went from a normal kid to a full blown Villain, their scaling aren't that much different either, it would make a good fight considering Accelerator's unique abilities.
You know I know you were memeing with Zer0 vs Excal but I think Vault Hunter vs Warframe could make a few pretty sick match-ups. They're both around planetary on their high end of scaling and a lot of Warframes kits bounce off of a lot of Vault Hunters' in pretty interesting ways.
For a long while, one of my dream matchups was Frank Castle vs Max Payne. Thematic, yet unfair. When Bondwick started to get closer, I actually started to favor Wick vs Payne as an episode. True, Max was never an assassin ("only" a fugitive/detective who went through Manhattan mob twice.) After his "work" was finished he wanted to be left alone but he was forced on the run once more while arguably only getting deadlier as the time went on. Plus Max could have matched Wick's pain tolerance and other stuff. As for the hand-to-hand stuff... that's more of Wick's speciality. Add a little bullet time and drug abuse and that could have been an actual episode. Oh well, there's always hope for John Wick 4... and Max Payne 4. As for the Lich King, my only real thought for now was TzKal-Zuk from Runescape. While the connections aren't that great (one corrupted human paladin vs one former gladiator who became a demigod along the way) he does have an army of obsidian soldiers at his disposal... and he does wield a sweet-ass sword.
Archie Silver vs Bart Allen (Aka: Impulse): Sidekicks of incredibly fast heroes who will never shut up about how they're from the future and have mastered the energy source that particular hero uses (Chaos and the Speedforce). Yes it's pretty much Wally vs Sonic again but both that episode and Trunks vs Silver were criticized for not going all out with the abilities the combatants have. Plus their personalities would lead to plenty of interactions to break up the fast paced action. Walter West also works, but I prefer Bart. John Wick vs Agent 47: Honestly, this should've been Wick's first episode. Guys in dapper suits with a reputation for being able to kill anyone with anything. Since there would be next to no banter, the fight could focus on tight choreography in both hand to hand combat and gunplay. If Ismahawk ever gets another episode, I'd love to see them tackle this. Beatrix Kiddo also works if you don't want her to get mommy domed by Yor Forger. Izuku Midoriya vs Kamala Kahn (Aka: Ms.Marvel): Static was better for Miles anyway. Two superhero finatics from worlds where superpowers are normal who get powers from their favorite superheroes (though in Kamala's case it was a hallucination) and use their knowledge of superheroes to form their own heroic identity while continuing the legacy of their favorite hero. Since both of them are pretty melee based fighters, their kits match each other very well and Kamala's shapeshifting offers plenty of opportunities for unique choreography and exchanges when she changes her shape and size. James Bond vs Ethan Hunt: Two super spies who've saved the world so many times they've gotten sick of doing it. Ethan has enough wacky gadgets to match Bond better than Wick does. Could be cool in live action. Predator vs Arbiter: Predator vs Master Chief is a thing, but we can't use that. Space hunters with plenty of weapons and that's pretty much it, but it works. Jason Voorhees vs Solomon Grundy: Big, nigh-unstoppable, zombified serial killers who have become legends in universe. Works well enough. Michael Myers vs Springtrap: No matter how many times or in how many ways you kill them, they'll always come back. Homelander vs Brightburn: What if Superman was evil, but before the Invincible show came out. This is the one matchup where people would actually root for Homelander and that's funny. Zatanna vs Sailor Moon: Magical girls, east vs west edition. It's better than putting Usagi against Fate or Strange. Harley Quinn vs Gwenpool: Harley pretty much became girl Deadpool in the New 52 vs Literally girl Deadpool. Black Adam vs Gilgamesh: Rulers who are as powerful as they are arrogant. All of Adam's Marvel opponents that aren't Doom or Apocalypse suck.
I think Silver vs Bart Allen has some potential, but I don't believe death battle would be competent enough to make it good. I also suggested James Bond vs Ethan Hunt as a better match up than John Wick. I don't think John Wick vs Agent 47 is a good match up, it's a stomp in 47's favor and I don't see how to make it interesting. I like the rest of your suggestions quite a bit.

One random little idea I had for a returner coming back to death battle that I thought would be interest is: Doomsday from DC vs Scp-682 Also known as The Hard to Destroy Reptile. The connection is that they're both creatures who adapt to whatever is thrown at them. Doomsday adapts and becomes impossible to kill the same way twice while Scp-682 adapts to whatever is attempting to kill it in a way that neutralizes the threat. A battle of which can outlast the other and finally put the other down for good.
I wish we could get Asta vs Luffy in the future, not just to finally have Luffy in a Death Battle but because he actually has some neat parallels with Asta. Both have their differences in abilities (Luffy’s Gum Gum fruit abilities vs Asta’s Anti Magic Swords and Grimoire), but they also have abilities stemming from their versions of life energy (Haki vs Ki) which grant the precognition and stats amplification. Heck, both got similar amps in their Japan-stand-in arcs (Wano and the Land of the Sun) where they learned to control the flow of their energy to emit their attacks (advanced armament and conqueror’s coating Vs heavenly severance).
I believe James Bond (007) vs Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible) is a much better match up than Jason Bourne. Although I like Rambo a lot, I wonder if Jason Bourne is not a better opponent for John Wick. Also, I believe Rambo would stomp Wick.
The ship’s sailed on Bond vs Bourne, it seems everyone’s come to that conclusion by now It is time to accept the truth: James Bond vs Indiana Jones is (what I’d call) the best for both, and is basically the only Bond match that doesn’t focus on him being a spy, but him as a character. The same way it’s the only Indiana Jones match that doesn’t focus on him as a treasure hunter, because when you take away their professions, Bond and Jones are very comparable characters
@@itsPlasma06yeah it works better if classic Bond is the focus. Which is a hidden plus, since both vs John Wick used modern Craig Bond, and vs Jason Bourne only works with Craig Bond. For vs Indiana Jones, they could animate the fight with Sean Connery or Roger Moore Bond, set it in a military camp in the desert or a town in Jamaica or something and it works.

Only issue is that some of the matchups are doomed to curbstomps. One in particular would be Homelander vs Hancock, that being that while Home is invuln to all the weapons on earth, theres just one issue: Hancock's abilities aren't human, and not just that but the crap that Hancock can pull off is hella hard to just get an accurate measure out of. Until Deus Ex Machina via Ex-Wife occurred, Hancock was just doing all sorts of crap and being impervious to just about everything, especially with one iconic scene of him _no selling a freight train plus entire cargo line at full speed._ Later on he takes a basic jump straight to the moon and in less than 24 hours, carved a heart shaped grand canyon as well as a heart shaped flat on the moon so large, its visible to the naked eye, and comes back down. None of that measures up to what Homelander had. Just because the two are based on the Superman archetype doesn't make it a fair enough contest. It'd be exactly the same as it was with Homelander vs Omni Man. It'd be funny as hell, sure. But not the better matchup than what we got, my guy.
Okay, for Excalibur I feel like it might be good to pair him against something like an Android or Cyborg. Immediately I though the Androids from Dragon Ball, but they might be too much. So then I considered General Grievous, as he is somewhat of a major threat, and another character from Star Wars would be Durge, a bounty hunter with regenerative powers and that was a threat to the Jedi. Either one could be dangerous enough to fight a warframe such as Excalibur.(Though General Grievous might be overkill)
Yeah, that arc is officially know a Future Trunks arc. Many call it Goku Black arc, Zamasu arc, or Doomed Future arc, which are valid, but Future Trunks is the official.
Vegito did appear in the Future Trunks arc of Super, which imo is the worst original arc to Super. And he first appeared in the Buu Saga which is the weakest in Z.
One alt for Michael I've grown pretty fond of is Michael vs Sam from trick r treat, both of em being horror icons that represent halloween and all. the size difference is a lil whatever but i could still see it being pretty fun with sams arsenal and Michael brute forcing through it to get to sam
The next Warframe fight that I would like to see are the Tenno vs the Guardians from Destiny. The matchup is very thematic and is pretty debatable on who wins
The only issue I see with Nicol Bolas as a combatant is that canonically his most powerful moments have little to no descriptions. As a Planeswalker Pre-Mending he was at his most powerful according to the lore, but basically every feat for him that would matter in a fight comes Post-Mending. I guess you could try to scale him to Urza…
Certain Scientific Railgun if I'm not wrong, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say CSR doesn't have nearly that big of a general appeal, a lot of DB fans will just know him as "that guy Magneto fights".

While I personally disagree with it, the storm that followed on the DeathBattle subreddit was completely unacceptable, with so many people shitting on Seth because they can't fathom servants being above planetary as they rightfully should be. Some even have taken to posting long comments insulting Seth or downplaying Saber to abysmal levels like human level and directly contradicting the premise of the entire series.

There’s actually quite a few ways deku and gon are opposite to each other like how gon wants to become a hunter and get stronger to meet ging while ( selfish reason ) deku wanted to become a hero to help people (self less), then another connection is how their both teens who have destroyed their own bodies on numerous occasions and their main attacks are charged punch’s. Oh and another way there different is their iq gon takes battle due to show strategy in a lot of his fights for example when he sacrificed half of his arm and a whole arm to kick genthru and what makes this strategy feat better is that gon shocked genthru and made him mentally freak out, while deku has shown better intelligence feats and even goes to school. ( Unlike gon ) There’s further connections such as both of them having sensei’s who died In the arcs they were introduced in ( kite and night eye ) they both were saved by little girl plot devices ( eri and alluka ) and they both will do anything to protect those closest to them there’s a few more connections but I’m done now.
Okay, but Excalibur vs 0 is actually BASED and runs a lot deeper than one might expect when it is thought about. Both are scifi cyborg swordmen who's faces are a mystery, who are have energy shields, wield swords, and have VAST arsenals of guns, due to coming from looter shooters. Excalibur would seem to stomp in stats from the feats I can recall off the top of my head, but you might be able to scale up 0 due to the warrior being implied to be a deadlier weapon than the hyperion orbital canon, and him scaling to it. Maybe it would be closer than I think, or even swing the other way, there is some research to be done there.
Personally I would like to see Black Adam vs Loki. Two kings, connected with real life mythologies, who are super strong but also use magic, who were traditionally villains but have been depicted in more a more heroic light recently, and are the main villains of extremely high-tier, lightning themed heralds. Honestly, I kinda like it better than Black Adam vs Doom.
Asta vs Meliodas is basically: Pint sized demon protags that nullify magic. Also ye Black Clover manga is still going so he will get some new shit at the end. Edit: Also stop pronouncing it as Melio DAHS it’s pronounced Melio DUS.
A matchup that I would to see, just to give these characters the recognition they deserve is Touma Kamijou from "A certain magical index" and Shirou emiya from the "Fate" series. Reason for that is because 1. They are both severely underated characters in there anime series, mostly because there animes completely butchered what makes unique all around great characters. But also they are very similar in a lot of ways that I don't want to spoil. And I think it would be a very good and interesting match up, though knowing how death battle handles some of it's characters I rather they not doing if there just going to butcher it the there anime series. Also highly HIGHLY recommend checking out the index LN series on Baki, and the order of the series is OT, NT, and newest GT(Those stand for Old testament, New testament, and Genesis testament. They each have 22 volumes with side story's that you don't have to watch.)
Shirou Emiya I actually see him vs Kirito from SAO and Hyde Kido from Under Night in-Birth. I'm down with their MU. Touma on the other hand I actually interesting with him vs Shirou but A lots people preferred Touma vs Zenkichi Hitoyoshi or Araragi.
@@irabbitz09 Really? Because I've been on the toaru reddit page, they been saying stuff about how fate and toaru are scarcily similar with a slight few changes in the magic system. Not only that but how they wouldn't mind a Fate x Toaru crossover since they both have gacha games. And how similar and Touma and Shirou are in terms of characters. Though the only difference is Shirou wants to be a hero of justice thanks to his trauma as a kid, while Touma couldn't care less about being labled as a hero or a villain and just wants to see everyone smile in the end like the Chad he is (I'm a Touma simp). I'm mean he literally declared the fight the world for a girl who "tortured" him for a LONG time. If you want the details I HIGHLY recommend reading the novels they are 100 times better than the anime.
here are two questions though: 1- should Shirou be allowed to use Artoria (I personally think he shouldn't but it does warrant a discussion) 2- since Death Battle requires that we use the peak form of each fighter, wouldn't it make more sense to use archer EMIYA instead of regular old Shirou?

No, he can't use Saber(Artoria), he can only use his own power. 2.Well yes and no, it's kinda hard to explain but Shirou can start out as himself then he can turn into EMIYA. Fun Fact: Trigger Happy actually stomps Jinx via scaling to Blackout, who’s power is stated to draw from The Darkness, who is a universal threat. Although, a Skylanders win on Death Battle is pretty damn based, so I can’t complain.
I feel like First Hassan would absolutely stomp Lich King due to him no-selling Numeral Gawain and being compared to Lion King Artoria, as well as his ability to just kill any entity with Azrael, hell I think he can do that normally. I can't remember much from Lich King, but I'd believe people if they told me he could stand a chance. Fate's just bonkers with scaling, at least from what I know

You mentioned Omnimon and Susonoomon as opponents for the DBZ fusions, which is based already, but I'd like to throw Imperialdramon into the ring as an option. Not only does he share the "fusion that exists for hype bullshit" connection, but also looking at Davis and Ken's Imperialdramon specifically he's also the fusion of (the partners of) the protagonist plus their reformed former villain who was considered a royal conqueror of another world. I also think Imperialdramon might have a bit more animation potential than the other 2. Omnimon and Susanoomon don't really do any form changes after they fuse, unless you're specifically using Royal Knight Omnimon to give him X-Antibody, or if there's some way to give Tai and Matt's Omnimon access to Merciful Mode without outside help (idk, haven't watched Tri). With Imperialdramon, you could have him form change through Paildramon (who is closer in size), Dragon Mode, Fighter Mode, and Paladin Mode while the DBZ fusions are changing their hair color.
if you really want to stretch for forms without doing a composite omnimon, in adventure 2020 he could basically change between standard omnimon and alter: S at will. in the final fight he was able to switch both arms between wargreymon and blitzgreymon on the left, and metalgarurumon and cresgarurumon on the right. otherwise, omnimon would need to be composited for the X-antibody or use outside help to reach merciful mode.
@@SlimeBot64 Ah, I did not actually know that, since I haven't seen Adventure 2020. That makes me want Gogeta vs Omnimon even more. I generally prefer the connections of Tai and Matt's Omnimon for the matchup over the Royal Knight despite the lack of Omnimon X, so that definitely helps the move variety.
As I recall Paladin Mode required Omnimon's data, so it's not standard. But Imperialdramon is a solid alt for both Gogeta and Vegito, I just like the others more for personal reasons

For me, I find ViA from Mega Man XDiVE to be Xeno Trunks‘s best MU.
It‘s thematic, has awesome animation potential, awesome music potential and it’s overall just awesome.
The connections if anyone here is interested;
Both are a alternate version of one of the most popular characters in their respective franchises (Zero and Trunks) and who also uses a sword.
Both series’s premise is that it is your mission to correct their worlds and timelines from corruption and acknowledged the fact that they are Gacha video games (XDive is about saving the memories and data from corruption as a Gacha phone game, and Xenoverse is about correcting the timelines from altering time shenanigans, and is also known to be a Gacha card game)
Both fight villains who use dark energy to corrupt and control people (Maverick Virus and Dark Ki)
It is their mission to support you, the player to correct these errors by being either a Navi or by fighting alongside you.
They also teach the player how to fight at the start of the game, basically being a bit of a mentor for every player out there.
Both have similar personalities, in that when they are in battle, they act like their canon counter part, overly serious and down to earth, but they are also aloof and jovial when they are with people.
Both work with a woman who is the gatekeeper of the timelines/worlds (RiCO and Chronoa) and you, the actual player to keep these worlds in safety.
Fight potential:
Imagine Zero Vs Trunks, but more.
ViA primarily uses the same abilities as Awakened Zero and Zero Nightmare, such as Shin Messenkou, Shingetsurin, and Genmu Zero. Later battles are similar, except that ViA uses additional attacks, gaining Absolute Zero's Crimson End in the event Pulsing Force of Destruction, and Omega's Arc Blade and Ranbu in the event Summon the Dark Blue Hunter, so he basically a composite version of all the Zero‘s of every Mega Man game.
And Trunks has his usual kit and some other techniques but you know this already probably.
So you could have a epic sword fight between them with lasers and other effects happening around them, like wherever they fight, its starts to glitch away like in a video game.
And have them talk to their partner (RiCO and Chronoa) by having to relay on them giving tips and what to do next.
They also could summon various characters of their franchise to add on the battle (Have ViA summon the fake Zero‘s from the X and Zero games and Trunks summons the past versions of his canon self)
It would probably start with them thinking that the other shouldn’t be there and thinking that the other tries to corrupt some timeline that they are currently on.
Music: It’s Mega Man and Dragonball, enough said it’s going to be a guaranteed banger. It’s would be a remix of every theme song that the canon version of these guys had into one singular song.

when it comes to Spongebob and any toon force powered characters, the rule is basically if they are the protagonist, they will always win, and if they are antagonist they will always lose, with battles always lasting long enough to be entertaining and/or funny, so fight between two toon force powered protagonists will always be a draw, because both can only win, and two toon force antagonists will always be a draw because they can only lose

Why did I laugh so hard from Killer Croc VS Stuart Little-
Apocalypse has a non-DC alt in the form of Asimov/Demerzel from Azure Striker Gunvolt.
They're two men who were discriminated against due to their mutations and took revenge against mankind, taking on ideals of only the strong surviving. Both rely on symbolic warriors to fight on their behalf despite their immense power, Apocalypse with his horsemen of the Apocalypse and Asimov with his "King" and "Queen" of Adepts, who they typically force into this position against their will. Both would be opposed by cyborg warriors in alternate futures where they took over the world, Copen and Cable, and their rise into power would be ultimately enabled by these warriors in the past (A younger Copen's gun letting Asimov kill Gunvolt and take over Sumeragi and Cable's Techno-Organic Virus greatly strengthening Apocalypse). Both also have the first mutation in their series chronologically, Asimov's Septima coming from the first Adept and Apocalypse being considered the First Mutant.
It's a massive stomp in Apocalypse's favor since even if you only scale Apocalypse to Semi-Heralds he's still at least Planet level, while Asimov only upscales from wiping out the planet's surface, but at least Apocalypse can't absorb Asimov's lightning, so he has that going for him, and it is possible that he is powerful enough to compare to a Gunvolt who was able to regenerate from the destruction of his soul.
Asimov is pretty charismatic, and Apocalypse was pretty fun in his own episode, not to mention Asimov isn't a flying brick which would lead to different choreography from Black Adam. I prefer the likes of Lord Belos and Kessler from inFAMOUS for Asmiov, but this is still good.

Alternate versions of anthropormortic characters who go back in time to prevent a tragedy that destoryed their future. Who thanks to manipulation from a shadow themed villain, ended up being seen as a villain, thanks to their morally grey actions. However, when their motivation and origins were revealed, officially joined the protagonists to stop said shadowy villain and the god who destoryed their world.
However I do think Grovyle is better for Game Silver. But still works.

I'm surprised you gave Sauron a Warhammer matchup but didn't mention putting Arthas up against Archaon or Nagash.
I could see Lich King being matched up against Makuta Teridax from Bionicle.
Both started as heroes with _questionable methods,_ before falling pursuit of greater power and betraying all they once stood for, going on to become massively powerful main antagonists. Both are also not traditionally alive anymore- Arthas is undead, and Teridax evolved into a gaseous entity. They also had cursed artefacts associated with them: Arthas' sword and armour, and Teridax's mask, which fires shadow-bolts at anyone who touches it that isn't a member of his own species.
Teridax also inflicted a deadly plague on the people he was supposed to defend, which would turn those who succumbed to it into his slaves, and his essence was a green fog that could also be used to control the minds of other beings, and fully possess non-sentient bodies.
The only challenge there is finding measurable feats for Terry. He had a massive array of powers (because Lego made too many colours of collectible slug), but only about 8/42 were actually shown being used in the story, and those we do have measures for are almost entirely in-universe (IE: saying it can do serious harm to a Toa) rather than numbers and areas of effect.
Also there's the "Should we count the GSR as part of Teridax's arsenal" thing, because it was technically his destined true form, and a permanent alteration to his being (he assumed control of the GSR at the end of 2008's story, and it was his body for the rest of his life, until his death at the end of 2010's story), but it's also not something he could achieve in the middle of a battle. DB has bent rules like that before, but not consistently. Also animating a planet-sized robot when the opponent isn't also a planet-sized entity would be a bit nuts.
Still, I could see it as a pretty amazing finisher, having Arthas destroy Teridax's armour, only for the ground they were fighting on to move and stand up, before Teridax retaliates with a gravity beam that crushes the world in on itself.

I have a proposition! The idea here is an entire themed season full of characters who have already been on the show. More specifically each matchup would have two returning characters ala Doctor Doom Vs Lex Luthor and Vegeta Vs Thor. The actual challenge there would be self explanatory of not only coming up with good matchups, but ones that would make sense in a way that, if the episode they already had didn’t happen then this character would’ve been who they fought
Like Darth Vader Vs Lich King, Deku Vs Rock Lee, Ragna Vs Guts (those may not be great ideas, but they’re just examples I felt I should bring up anyhow)
For Xeno Trunks, I have a matchup for him that might seem, and probably is, a bit crazy. Xeno Trunks vs Polygon Donut. Both are characters that came from the future to prevent their bad timeline from happening, and were assigned the task of protecting the new timeline by a God. The fact that this is a pretty even fight scares me. Reading over that I realize that there aren't as many connections as I thought. Still, it's a dumb matchup.
Can't wait for part 4. I hope season 10 brings new characters to deathbattle.
One day, I just hope that one day, we'll get the Chosen Undead vs Dragonborn. This matchup is dear to my heart, and I don't care if its a stomp in Dragonborn's favor. If you put the man who was gifted with the power of gods at birth against the man that lived a shitty life and yet will not surrender even after death. The fact that their arsenal counters eachother very well; Conjuration vs Rapport, Unrelenting Force vs Poise, The sheer power of eachother's damage spells. Chosen undead may be outmatched, but when has he ever not been. This match needs to happen.
The Tarnished might end up working better since they can at least perform plenty of Dragon shouts to match with the Dragon born. Plus, they've got the strength to resist blows from Rodahn with a shield despite what their Strength score or Shield level is, which by powerscalers logic would be OP durability (if only the gameplay actually worked with that since the Tarnished can still be 2-3 shotted even with 99 Vigor.)

@@debater452 My knowledge of the Dragonborn's scaling is rusty due to having not played the game in a significant amount of time, but considering how the Dragonborn killed Alduin in the Nord's equivalent to Valhalla an argument could be made that they scaled to the Aesir of real-world mythology. That said, I always thought that the Grey Warden could kill the Dragonborn so I'm probably not the best person to try scaling the Dragonborn's feats.

A matchup ive seen floating around was Vegito (DBS) Vs. Pneuma (Xenoblade chronicles 2)
The similarities between them are fusing when they had no option left, blue hair, getting a completely new attire when fused, and….that’s it 😂 But ngl I think she could hold her own against him and possibly even win due to her powers.
There's also the fact that they fight with the use of OP Sword (Vegito's Spirit Sword and Pneuma literally is the Aegis'), they're fusions happened by the use of a jewelry construct (the potara earrings and the Aegis crest), and you know, they fought against enemies that tried to destroy the universe.

@@karbyboi8489 When it comes to power Vegito has this in the bag. But when we bring other things into the equation, then that's when things get complicated. Not to surprising as Pneuma is a JRPG character, so status modifiers are crazy. I still think Vegito wins, but it's pretty close.
once again, Accelerator vs Tetsuo will remain to be the best Testuo matchup. Both are villains that has telekenesis powers but Accelerator went from full blown villain to Anti-Hero. Tetsuo went from a normal kid to a full blown Villain, their scaling aren't that much different either, it would make a good fight considering Accelerator's unique abilities.

For a long while, one of my dream matchups was Frank Castle vs Max Payne. Thematic, yet unfair. When Bondwick started to get closer, I actually started to favor Wick vs Payne as an episode.
True, Max was never an assassin ("only" a fugitive/detective who went through Manhattan mob twice.) After his "work" was finished he wanted to be left alone but he was forced on the run once more while arguably only getting deadlier as the time went on. Plus Max could have matched Wick's pain tolerance and other stuff. As for the hand-to-hand stuff... that's more of Wick's speciality.
Add a little bullet time and drug abuse and that could have been an actual episode. Oh well, there's always hope for John Wick 4... and Max Payne 4.
As for the Lich King, my only real thought for now was TzKal-Zuk from Runescape. While the connections aren't that great (one corrupted human paladin vs one former gladiator who became a demigod along the way) he does have an army of obsidian soldiers at his disposal... and he does wield a sweet-ass sword.

Yeah, Leon Belmont is extremely similar to Jonathan in many áreas. Is usually his most popular next to Tanjiro, which already happened.

Archie Silver vs Bart Allen (Aka: Impulse):
Sidekicks of incredibly fast heroes who will never shut up about how they're from the future and have mastered the energy source that particular hero uses (Chaos and the Speedforce). Yes it's pretty much Wally vs Sonic again but both that episode and Trunks vs Silver were criticized for not going all out with the abilities the combatants have. Plus their personalities would lead to plenty of interactions to break up the fast paced action. Walter West also works, but I prefer Bart.
John Wick vs Agent 47:
Honestly, this should've been Wick's first episode. Guys in dapper suits with a reputation for being able to kill anyone with anything. Since there would be next to no banter, the fight could focus on tight choreography in both hand to hand combat and gunplay. If Ismahawk ever gets another episode, I'd love to see them tackle this. Beatrix Kiddo also works if you don't want her to get mommy domed by Yor Forger.
Izuku Midoriya vs Kamala Kahn (Aka: Ms.Marvel):
Static was better for Miles anyway. Two superhero finatics from worlds where superpowers are normal who get powers from their favorite superheroes (though in Kamala's case it was a hallucination) and use their knowledge of superheroes to form their own heroic identity while continuing the legacy of their favorite hero. Since both of them are pretty melee based fighters, their kits match each other very well and Kamala's shapeshifting offers plenty of opportunities for unique choreography and exchanges when she changes her shape and size.
James Bond vs Ethan Hunt:
Two super spies who've saved the world so many times they've gotten sick of doing it. Ethan has enough wacky gadgets to match Bond better than Wick does. Could be cool in live action.
Predator vs Arbiter:
Predator vs Master Chief is a thing, but we can't use that. Space hunters with plenty of weapons and that's pretty much it, but it works.
Jason Voorhees vs Solomon Grundy:
Big, nigh-unstoppable, zombified serial killers who have become legends in universe. Works well enough.
Michael Myers vs Springtrap:
No matter how many times or in how many ways you kill them, they'll always come back.
Homelander vs Brightburn:
What if Superman was evil, but before the Invincible show came out. This is the one matchup where people would actually root for Homelander and that's funny.
Zatanna vs Sailor Moon:
Magical girls, east vs west edition. It's better than putting Usagi against Fate or Strange.
Harley Quinn vs Gwenpool:
Harley pretty much became girl Deadpool in the New 52 vs Literally girl Deadpool.
Black Adam vs Gilgamesh:
Rulers who are as powerful as they are arrogant. All of Adam's Marvel opponents that aren't Doom or Apocalypse suck.
I think Silver vs Bart Allen has some potential, but I don't believe death battle would be competent enough to make it good. I also suggested James Bond vs Ethan Hunt as a better match up than John Wick. I don't think John Wick vs Agent 47 is a good match up, it's a stomp in 47's favor and I don't see how to make it interesting. I like the rest of your suggestions quite a bit.

One random little idea I had for a returner coming back to death battle that I thought would be interest is: Doomsday from DC vs Scp-682 Also known as The Hard to Destroy Reptile. The connection is that they're both creatures who adapt to whatever is thrown at them. Doomsday adapts and becomes impossible to kill the same way twice while Scp-682 adapts to whatever is attempting to kill it in a way that neutralizes the threat. A battle of which can outlast the other and finally put the other down for good.

I wish we could get Asta vs Luffy in the future, not just to finally have Luffy in a Death Battle but because he actually has some neat parallels with Asta.
Both have their differences in abilities (Luffy’s Gum Gum fruit abilities vs Asta’s Anti Magic Swords and Grimoire), but they also have abilities stemming from their versions of life energy (Haki vs Ki) which grant the precognition and stats amplification. Heck, both got similar amps in their Japan-stand-in arcs (Wano and the Land of the Sun) where they learned to control the flow of their energy to emit their attacks (advanced armament and conqueror’s coating Vs heavenly severance).

I believe James Bond (007) vs Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible) is a much better match up than Jason Bourne. Although I like Rambo a lot, I wonder if Jason Bourne is not a better opponent for John Wick. Also, I believe Rambo would stomp Wick.

It is time to accept the truth: James Bond vs Indiana Jones is (what I’d call) the best for both, and is basically the only Bond match that doesn’t focus on him being a spy, but him as a character. The same way it’s the only Indiana Jones match that doesn’t focus on him as a treasure hunter, because when you take away their professions, Bond and Jones are very comparable characters
I honestly don't really like the sound of that, dynamic seems pretty weird and they don't really feel like characters who would mesh well together

For vs Indiana Jones, they could animate the fight with Sean Connery or Roger Moore Bond, set it in a military camp in the desert or a town in Jamaica or something and it works.

Only issue is that some of the matchups are doomed to curbstomps. One in particular would be Homelander vs Hancock, that being that while Home is invuln to all the weapons on earth, theres just one issue: Hancock's abilities aren't human, and not just that but the crap that Hancock can pull off is hella hard to just get an accurate measure out of. Until Deus Ex Machina via Ex-Wife occurred, Hancock was just doing all sorts of crap and being impervious to just about everything, especially with one iconic scene of him _no selling a freight train plus entire cargo line at full speed._
Later on he takes a basic jump straight to the moon and in less than 24 hours, carved a heart shaped grand canyon as well as a heart shaped flat on the moon so large, its visible to the naked eye, and comes back down. None of that measures up to what Homelander had.
Just because the two are based on the Superman archetype doesn't make it a fair enough contest. It'd be exactly the same as it was with Homelander vs Omni Man. It'd be funny as hell, sure. But not the better matchup than what we got, my guy.

Okay, for Excalibur I feel like it might be good to pair him against something like an Android or Cyborg. Immediately I though the Androids from Dragon Ball, but they might be too much.
So then I considered General Grievous, as he is somewhat of a major threat, and another character from Star Wars would be Durge, a bounty hunter with regenerative powers and that was a threat to the Jedi. Either one could be dangerous enough to fight a warframe such as Excalibur.(Though General Grievous might be overkill)

Yeah, that arc is officially know a Future Trunks arc. Many call it Goku Black arc, Zamasu arc, or Doomed Future arc, which are valid, but Future Trunks is the official.
Vegito did appear in the Future Trunks arc of Super, which imo is the worst original arc to Super. And he first appeared in the Buu Saga which is the weakest in Z.
One alt for Michael I've grown pretty fond of is Michael vs Sam from trick r treat, both of em being horror icons that represent halloween and all. the size difference is a lil whatever but i could still see it being pretty fun with sams arsenal and Michael brute forcing through it to get to sam

Some matchups I like for these characters are
Tanjiro VS Geralt (the Witcher) both are monster hunters who use techniques to fight superhuman creatures
And
John Wick VS Robert McCall (the equalizer) both are retired hitmen who bring down entire crime syndicates to avenge someone

Seth the Programmer uploaded a video on Saber where he scaled her to Outerversal. While I personally disagree with it, the storm that followed on the DeathBattle subreddit was completely unacceptable, with so many people shitting on Seth because they can't fathom servants being above planetary as they rightfully should be. Some even have taken to posting long comments insulting Seth or downplaying Saber to abysmal levels like human level and directly contradicting the premise of the entire series.

And with that I would also disagree), but harassing Seth for that is simply wrong. Or also trying to downplay Artoria or people that may like the character is just, wrong. It just saddens me how unknown of an opponent for Arthas Archaon seems to be.
There’s actually quite a few ways deku and gon are opposite to each other like how gon wants to become a hunter and get stronger to meet ging while ( selfish reason ) deku wanted to become a hero to help people (self less), then another connection is how their both teens who have destroyed their own bodies on numerous occasions and their main attacks are charged punch’s.
Oh and another way there different is their iq gon takes battle due to show strategy in a lot of his fights for example when he sacrificed half of his arm and a whole arm to kick genthru and what makes this strategy feat better is that gon shocked genthru and made him mentally freak out, while deku has shown better intelligence feats and even goes to school. ( Unlike gon )
There’s further connections such as both of them having sensei’s who died In the arcs they were introduced in ( kite and night eye ) they both were saved by little girl plot devices ( eri and alluka ) and they both will do anything to protect those closest to them there’s a few more connections but I’m done now.
Okay, but Excalibur vs 0 is actually BASED and runs a lot deeper than one might expect when it is thought about. Both are scifi cyborg swordmen who's faces are a mystery, who are have energy shields, wield swords, and have VAST arsenals of guns, due to coming from looter shooters. Excalibur would seem to stomp in stats from the feats I can recall off the top of my head, but you might be able to scale up 0 due to the warrior being implied to be a deadlier weapon than the hyperion orbital canon, and him scaling to it. Maybe it would be closer than I think, or even swing the other way, there is some research to be done there.

Personally I would like to see Black Adam vs Loki. Two kings, connected with real life mythologies, who are super strong but also use magic, who were traditionally villains but have been depicted in more a more heroic light recently, and are the main villains of extremely high-tier, lightning themed heralds.
Honestly, I kinda like it better than Black Adam vs Doom.
Asta vs Meliodas is basically: Pint sized demon protags that nullify magic. Also ye Black Clover manga is still going so he will get some new shit at the end.

A matchup that I would to see, just to give these characters the recognition they deserve is Touma Kamijou from "A certain magical index" and Shirou emiya from the "Fate" series. Reason for that is because 1. They are both severely underated characters in there anime series, mostly because there animes completely butchered what makes unique all around great characters. But also they are very similar in a lot of ways that I don't want to spoil. And I think it would be a very good and interesting match up, though knowing how death battle handles some of it's characters I rather they not doing if there just going to butcher it the there anime series. Also highly HIGHLY recommend checking out the index LN series on Baki, and the order of the series is OT, NT, and newest GT(Those stand for Old testament, New testament, and Genesis testament. They each have 22 volumes with side story's that you don't have to watch.)
Shirou Emiya I actually see him vs Kirito from SAO and Hyde Kido from Under Night in-Birth. I'm down with their MU. Touma on the other hand I actually interesting with him vs Shirou but A lots people preferred Touma vs Zenkichi Hitoyoshi or Araragi.
@@irabbitz09 Really? Because I've been on the toaru reddit page, they been saying stuff about how fate and toaru are scarcily similar with a slight few changes in the magic system. Not only that but how they wouldn't mind a Fate x Toaru crossover since they both have gacha games. And how similar and Touma and Shirou are in terms of characters. Though the only difference is Shirou wants to be a hero of justice thanks to his trauma as a kid, while Touma couldn't care less about being labled as a hero or a villain and just wants to see everyone smile in the end like the Chad he is (I'm a Touma simp). I'm mean he literally declared the fight the world for a girl who "tortured" him for a LONG time. If you want the details I HIGHLY recommend reading the novels they are 100 times better than the anime.
here are two questions though:
1- should Shirou be allowed to use Artoria (I personally think he shouldn't but it does warrant a discussion)
2- since Death Battle requires that we use the peak form of each fighter, wouldn't it make more sense to use archer EMIYA instead of regular old Shirou?

No, he can't use Saber(Artoria), he can only use his own power. 2.Well yes and no, it's kinda hard to explain but Shirou can start out as himself then he can turn into EMIYA. That probably makes no sense and is impossible in Canon, but it's death battle they do stuff like sometimes. Also is EMIYA really his most powerful form, cause I think he has another one?
@@joshuapatterson8269 I'm not that big of a Fate expert but maybe the Oath Under Snow Shirou might be able to surpass EMIYA (I haven't watched that movie yet) and there is also EMIYA Alter and Senji Muramasa from FGO but I don't know how they compare to EMIYA.
Jin Mori vs Goku, both based on wukong. Jin Mori is the superior fighter, plus now with Nirvana he take on MUI Goku, also Jin Mori as superior stamina, and he actually can hang with Goku.
Fun Fact: Trigger Happy actually stomps Jinx via scaling to Blackout, who’s power is stated to draw from The Darkness, who is a universal threat. Although, a Skylanders win on Death Battle is pretty damn based, so I can’t complain.

I feel like First Hassan would absolutely stomp Lich King due to him no-selling Numeral Gawain and being compared to Lion King Artoria, as well as his ability to just kill any entity with Azrael, hell I think he can do that normally. I can't remember much from Lich King, but I'd believe people if they told me he could stand a chance. Fate's just bonkers with scaling, at least from what I know
