I spent a lot of time in cheese shops during my 3 years in Germany. Of course I went to France and Italy as well. The difference using raw milk makes is unbelievable! To bad we can't use that here in the USA
Dream of mine to travel Europe see Paris where my family came from , but most of all go to all the best cheese makers to sample best food ever created “cheese”
You really see in two generations the alsatian dialect waning, the father speaks german with a clear alsatian dialect, half suebian, half swiss german, the son speaks high german with a strong french accent.. Sad but this happens to all dialects and minority languages now....
@@Kae-Lexi Actually, it's different now than in the past. The world is more connected, the media bring a high degree of standardization. Yes, languages always changed and never kept themselves isolated, but dialects were surviving for centuries and NOW they're disappearing.

The world changes, media revolutions have been around for a while, this changes nothing, it just accelerates it. Nothing is being lost by more people understanding each other. Language changes because it is more convenient, because people perceive it that way because they have to speak it every day in a connected world.

I think the best type of cheese is soft cheeses with red mould that smell worse than my feet. Unfortunately nobody in my country like that kind so I only get to eat them when I travel.

Strange how if one was serving their king they would be killing an enemy. Sure Ottoman Bismarck defeated Napoleon III but still feels weird killing common people for the kings purpose. Which one? One can hardly argue that the family of several dozens British cheeses is "better" than the family of several hundreds French cheeses (regardless the number). How can an extremely diverse group be - as a whole - "better" than another extremely diverse group?
France already wins with the Roquefort Cheese alone. No offense, Britain has fantastic cheese and a great diversity and also a long history of cheese making but France is the Winner! There is no where such a variety and such a high quality of cheese like in France. Italy comes close second.

They are prohibited in Australia or Canada for example.
You can make cheese from raw milk in the US. It just has to be ripened over a certain period. 60 days I think is the FDA requirement.
