  • One month review of my Traeger Timberline 1300. I decided to do a “weekday brisket” based of a video posted by Matt Pittmen of Meat Church.
Started the brisket at 8 PM on a Tuesday night and had it for dinner on Wednesday. Low and slow cook for over 19 hours!

Great cook. I’m looking at a 1300. Have a smaller camp chef now but want more cooking space

Looks good man! You should check out Costco and Sams for brisket. Prime brisket at Costco is $3.50 per pound and at Sams prime is $2.75 per pound. @ lest it is here in Phoenix anyway.

What are your thoughts about the Timberline 1300 after two years? Would you buy it again?

Looks good! I do have a question though. I really like your cooking set up. What kind of canopies are you using? I was planning to get some, but am worried that the canopies I am looking at will not last in the Southern California sun.

Hey Tony. Thanks for the message! Both canopies I got them at Sam’s Club. They were on discount. I live in ☀️ sunny Southern California West Covina area. They’ve been holding up pretty well!

GREAT VIDEO. Helpful. Thanks. What did you wrap your brisket in? Also, "why" do you wrap it? What does that do??? And, is it critical to spray water on it? Is it just water?

Can you explain how the "celery seed" theory "enhances the smoke ring."? How does that work? Very interesting.......

  • @delant02

Boss, how deep did the smoke ring go? Have you tried a turkey on it? I have been smoking on a smoke hollow cabinet gas smoker for years and thinking about going this route, yes or no?

Thinking about getting one of these but after reading reviews on the website felt a little un easy. How has yours held up any issues?

do you know how loud is the timberline 1300? I have a new home and liek to get a new traeger, but i'm scared it'll be too loud for overnight smokes. Do you think it'll be loud to bother neighbors?

  • @infomercialguy

at what temperature do you "wrap" it??? a nd, can you use foil? thanks!!!!

Traeger must have figured something with SuperSmoke on the second gen Timberlines. My first gen will turn food black when I use that. I've pulled the shelves and heat shield out and can see black smoke come out when the fan cycles off. I assume you have not had that experience with this one?
Also, confident man unwrapping a brisket in a white shirt! :-)
