    Welcome back to another BFT video!! This video is about our glasses / sunglasses, which are made by the US brand called Ombraz. We decided to make a video about this because so many of our viewers ask us about them. Please watch and see what we think about our glasses including pros and cons. This video is our first video that is not directly related to Brompton Folding bikes but we hope this video helps some people!

    1:50 Your Point is Interesting. 🤔
    If I'm in the Gym and doing Squats, I have always the Probleme that my Glasses slide down and if i put the Bar down its a bit tricky because i see two Bars and two Hooks and then trying to find the real on or dropping it. 😅 oh man, always Russian Roulette.
    Maybe I try these Glasses, they sound Awesome.👍

    "I didn't see any benefit of having hair." Now that's a classic quote ! Or were you really just trying to shave off a few more grams of weight on your rides 😂? You look great, and a very useful informative video as always :)

    You’re a pretty funny guy…and you did an outstanding job of presenting the pros and cons directly, but with a sense of humor. And three boys! God love you, brother. I’m much older than you…I had two girls and a boy…them breaking your glasses? Too funny, so true…at a certain age, grabby little beggars…grab EVERYTHING! I’m retired military and retired LEO…still very active, and while I love my Costas, glass lenses, I worry when I sweat about dropping them. I use a leash, but makes the ear stems uncomfortable. As my wife still works, I clear all spending with her. I’m going to give these a good look! Take care, be safe, brother….again, nice job on this video.

    Most of the sunglasses in the US are designed for the European face. As an Asian, I have to buy ones that are universal fit (or sometimes referred to as Asian Fit) to fit my face well. After trying quite a few, I settled on the Oakley Radars (Asian Fit), and have been using them for quite a few years now. It doesn't moved on my face at all (for all the sports that I do, not just cycling).

      I always bought my glasses locally since it is covered by my insurance company so I never checked out overseas glasses. Thanks for the tip. It may help someone!

    Thank you for this unbiased review. It really helps me in making my decision. What I like about your video is that you have so much content with you actually wearing them in different places. I'm sure Ombraz must dig this too. Anyways thanks again and ride safe from a fellow biker. 🚲🙂

    I got the Teton style. I've been a flatwater kayaker for years but I'm progressing into whitewater kayaking now, which requires a helmet. I tried wearing my normal sunglasses with the helmet, but it drives the earpieces into my head, and induces a headache man. But the sun itself will also give me a headache lol. Anyway... these Ombraz are a lifesaver for kayaking.

      Recreational kayaker here-- I can't wait to take them out on the water! I got the side shields for mine because the glare off the lakes in southern AZ is brutal. I also love that they just rendered all my annoying floaty sunglasses straps in my gear bag obsolete. 😁

    Thanks for your review. It was very informative. I just wanted to touch on the condensation part you mentioned. I reached out to ombraz about condensation and they told me that the sunglasses aren’t meant to be worn snug or tight. Ombraz said that you shouldn’t feel the strap around your head at all. That’s how loose it should be. Just wanted to add to your point. Thanks!

    You can apply anti fog solution/coating. That's a issue with the lens surface with the moisture and temperature of the air.

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  10 месяцев назад +1

      If I tilt the lens away from my face alittle, it solves this problem right away.

    Don’t they offer Photochromic glasses? You would’ve gone two for one since they transition? Thank u for the review!

    Good comprehensive review. Not the most attractive at clear prescription glasses. Kind of look like goggles. Not bad as sunglasses.

    Great video, BFT! I use eye drops because I have dry eyes. I rode my bike last week and noticed that the air made my eyes even drier than usual. Do your glasses block air flow? I might need to find a pair of glasses with a complete seal to block air.

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  Год назад +1

      They don't seal off the air but they are better than a regular pair since they sit closer to the face. You do have to adjust them for condensation if you stop often.

  • @meYogii_

    I have prescription glasses. I'm afraid that one of the cons have to be that those glasses are way too close to your eyes? Is that an issue?

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  Год назад +1

      I have two pairs with prescription lenes. I can see much better since they sit close to my face. The problem with regular glasses is the "dead zone" around the glasses since they sit further away from your face. I can see up and down without moving my head (which is what I use to do). This also depends on your current glasses. The only downside is when I am entering or leaving a store and the lens will fog up. I have to adjust the string to ventilate them (it takes a simple tug). I don't think I can go back to normal glasses.

    would i be able to take non-prescription sunglasses to my optician and have him make prescription lenses for the frames?

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  Год назад +1

      I am not sure how optician equipment works. I simply ordered the prescription lenses on the Ombraz website. They were done by lensandframe.co

    What size are those Dolomites? The regular or the XL?

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  10 месяцев назад +2

      I wear regular.

    • @jaxmyers
      @jaxmyers 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@BromptonFamilyTime Cool I ordered the same. Glad I didn’t get XL because the regulars are a bit on the large side already (but not in a bad way).
      Are they the transition lenses or just the always clear ones? I ordered a pair of the transition lenses. I don’t normally do that but with these i thought it might be convenient to wear them on a long hike where it gets dark before I get back to my car, so I’m not blind on the last half of the descent. :(

      I have regular lenses but I do wish I tried the transition ones. I hate carrying my sunglasses.

    They look like goggles, not glasses and I instantly wondered why they were so smashed on your face. Im sure that makes them useful but not very attractive.

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  6 месяцев назад +1

      They look better in person! The function of these glasses make it worth looking different imo. I get compliments all the time.
