I knew recognized that shop. I rode my motorcycle from Wa for Sturgis a few years ago, and that shop was the only one in town to pick up the oil I needed. All the way in the back on the bottom shelf, and the garage up the road was nice enough to loan me a few tools to DIY it and be on my way. Amazing people, everyone up there. Thanks!
Nothing like getting it running before the sun sets. And umm, "Because there's nothing hot to burn it on" was the best line with a fast comeback I've heard in a while. Good job Matt!
Those Old Willys Jeep are Tanks..I had a 1957 Willys Pickup. With a Super Hurricane Flathead 6 in it. Loved that jeep. I kick myself in the ass for ever getting rid of it..UGH...Young and Dumb. LOL..It would go any wheres. I used it to drag Logs out of the woods with no trails to cut up for firewood..Loved it..It would just crawl around like nothing..Amazing vehicles for sure..Great find Bud..and Video.
With my limited vocabulary I can’t begin to express how much I’d love to see more of the 2A! This was a fun little video..like VGG for off roaders. Something eles that makes me laugh is the attraction between big dudes and the smallest of rigs..you looked like a big ole kid standing next to that tiny Jeep .
What an awesome find. Love the old Jeeps. I was an Army mechanic and simply loved them. What is cool about them for out in the field working on them. There is never a shortage of smokers in the Army. The spark plugs and points gap. You can use a match book cover as a gauge or even the box lid off of a pack of smokes to set them. That is not perfect. But will get you out of a trouble spot and moving.
Hi from England…great vid 👍 Make the most of your time with your Dad….I miss my wrangler owning days but I miss my Dad alot more! It’s scary how quickly things can change so great to see anyone appreciating time with their Parents 🤗 Anyhoo, for my sins, I love Jeeps, had a couple of tj’s, a yj (that I lifted and modded myself but unfortunately had to sell for reasons out of my control at the time 😭) But still drive an old diesel kJ now which I have grown to love…despite all its flaws…must just be a Jeep thing!
Awesome flat fender, reminds me of my grandpa and uncles in Idaho, they had a bunch of these sitting around the yard. Was always fun crawling around them, wish they still existed.
Love the video, Colt! Keep them coming and more on those two vehicles. I love Jeeps and Suzukis too! Also, you must be a seriously happy dude based on how much you laugh… that’s awesome bro! Keep it up!
Awesome find and look forward to seeing what becomes of the old Gem. Hey .... Matt! Rocking a Canadian Flag on your jacket. 👍🇨🇦 Watching from Nova Scotia, Canada!
Count me as another person who wants to see the Jeep given a driver-quality restoration. Make it nice again and use it for cruising around on nice days. Not every old Jeep needs a V8 and 40" Super Swampers. They're not making any more CJ-2as.
LOVE the Jeep. LOVE the Suzuki. Also, LOVED all the vehicles in that yard where you got them! I could clean that yard up and take all them old trucks home. (Especially the Jeep) In any case.... PLEASE do a restore series for that Jeep! Oh, and.... loved seeing Matt and them too. Hey, Matt! Watch out. Lizzy took over your shop while you were gone.
Sweet looking Willy's. Heck yeah i would love to watch a restore series for it. How the heck did you get Matt to wear a jacket lol? I enjoyed this video
@Jeff Jackson Ancient Tribal Magic; Matt's power is tied to the land through very, very old rites performed by the shaman in the times before. The traditions... Ahh, the short story is when you leave the land, you lose some of your power the farther away you go. He doesn't like to talk about it. :D
Hey Colt !!! Now that you got Your Projects out of the rough ,,,Now Matt has a Project that You are gona be a part of & That's his ""SAMURAI "" !!! HAHA Have a good week & nice to see your Dad out & about !!
Hope to see you in Utah helping Matt Suzuki. I actually love most Internal combustion vehicles. Grew up with Honda and Volkswagen, now have two Chevys and a Jeep. All three from last century, take care of wife's 2019 Honda CRV. Want a Baja Bug, GEO Tracker, new bug second generation, a newer Honda Civic type R, got no problem with loving Suzuki and Jeep.
Brings back some great memories. The first motor I ever had part in rebuilding was a Flat 4 out of my friends 1948 Willys. Dang and that was 42-43 years ago. Had some great times wheeling in and with that Willys.
Really glad ya got your dad involved. One thing in life I took for granted. LOVE YOUR FAMILY FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!! The old flat fender looks like a stellar project. I can not wait to see it progress.
You didn’t mention black as an old paint color. Do I see shinny black in the old jeeps future? LOL I found you folks through Matt’s channel. And your crazy like all of his friends. I just wish I was a few years younger so I could join you. lol Thanks for your content. You keep this old man entertained!
Love the Jeep! I've got a 2a that has sat for about twenty years. Bought it at an auction for spare parts for my 3a. After I got it home, I decided it was too good to strip for Parts! So there it sits till I have time and money to overhaul the engine! Hopefully I can keep the trees Down! I love the Suzuki, I have a completely wore out Samurai!
Matt bangs his elbow, what did you do that for? Because there wasn't anything hot to touch! 😆😆 I can't believe that jeep started! Great day all around. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe and GOD bless
Those old 4 cyl Jeeps are so easy to work on and overhaul. In my teenage years I overhauled quite a few flat-head and OHV 4 cylinders, repaired them inside and out and painted them up like new. It was fun back in those days and kept me out of trouble.
Hell Yea Willeys 4EVER When Ever. Love to see a Restore back to original inc a redo vid taking it all apart and slapping it together in 30min or less 🤣☺️
Thanks for the Video all.. Oh the Suzuki side kick Is A VITARA In the UK, unsure about Spain.. Ian - UK.. Oh I know there tough as my daughter rolled on on a main highway after a rear tyre blow out.. ended up on UK drivers side, screamed how do i get out, so, just unclipped the soft top and walked out.. apart from neck strain and scraped ankle was fine after,, tough as old boots them Suzuki's.
Over from Matt's channel. We've been up to "The Hills" probably ten times from next door in Nebraska. We stay at the Rocket there in Custer or camp down the road at Stockade in Custer State Park. And, ironically, I've been to that S&B auto parts store. A few years ago, we came up for the Buffalo Roundup and it snowed - IN SEPTEMBER! I found out quickly that I needed wiper blades! Doh. Will be up there later this year and look forward to the story of this Jeep.
I love the little Willis. I've wanted one for years and years. But every time I've run across one I didn't have the funds to buy it because I just bought something else. But one of these days!
A buddy and I stayed just down the street at the Chalet when we were there for the Sturgis rally. Would have never guessed all those vehicles were even there! What a small world! Glad you got Matt up in that area to entertain him! Hope to run in to you up there trail riding sometime!
Hell yeah brother , I definitely want to see more videos on the Willys Jeep . This was a awesome video Colt and it was nice to see Matt and company there too . I think that was so nice to have your dad there to experience the Willys start up . Take care Colt and catch you on your next video .
I had a 1951 willeys back in 1975 it had Chevy 283 v-8 new soft top, full cage roll bar cj3a heater, crome wheels, painted corvette yellow it was a lot of fun.....it didn't turn very sharp......, I sold it and bought a 1974 renegade cj5 since then I've had several others now I have a2003 wrangler ....love your show ,I love in American girl utah, lots of great places to go off road
I bought this junky firewood trailer at an auction and BOTH wheels have left handed lug nuts and half of them were missing. Talk about soul crushing. Glad I only paid $1 for it.
The reason they were missing is people assume the "righty- tighty" thing and twist them off( I'm talking studs here, not nuts) happened to me with a '65 Dodge Dart getting new tires.
Cool video brought back memories, I have a twin brother and back around 78 or 79 we each had old jeeps, mine was a turd 63 with a flathead ,his was bit chin 53 with a small block V8 he brought back to minn. from California after his stay in the service .
Definitely want to see what you do with the Willys. Pretty awesome that it started after so long. Very cool and had me excited to see. "Love it when a plan comes together"
You are a good son. My Dad passed when I was 20 yo. I'm 53 now. Miss my Dad very much. Give your Dad a hug from me.
Thanks!
Made me laugh when Matt hit his arm and Colt asked what you do that for? Matt-Cause there was nothing hot to touch. 😂😂😂
Can't wait to see some sort of restoration on that Willys.
That certainly was awesome! I absolutely would love to see that thing back on the road. Keep up the great work 👍☮️
Nothing like getting it running before the sun sets. And umm, "Because there's nothing hot to burn it on" was the best line with a fast comeback I've heard in a while. Good job Matt!

So this is what y’all were up to the other day!!!! You made the right “call” 😉
How fun!!! Yes we want to see more of this Jeep!! ❤️🐞

Something eles that makes me laugh is the attraction between big dudes and the smallest of rigs..you looked like a big ole kid standing next to that tiny Jeep .
It started! Didn't see that coming.
What an awesome find. Love the old Jeeps. I was an Army mechanic and simply loved them. What is cool about them for out in the field working on them. There is never a shortage of smokers in the Army. My wife and I CAN'T wait to see what you do with the Willys. Her Dad had one when we were kids..
Colt with his chuckle and Matt with the “subtle” product placement are classic. What’s with Yukon Cornelius wearing a jacket?
That is awesome you're father there Matt and his crew is there and yes we wanna see more of the Jeep
Loved it . Rob Australia. If it was here it’d be full of Spiders the size of baseballs and snakes hehe 😜
Hi from England…great vid 👍

New sub here, BUILD THAT WILLY'S!!! Probably my favorite thing on youtube is watching abandoned vehicles get brought back to life.
Awesome thank you!
Any old Willy and his Sidekick, should be fun projects. I'll hit the "gonna watch ya button" to see where it goes.
Matt's great at applying just enough force, but not more. That was a really joyful jeep recovery, because it wants to run again.
Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Heck yeah i would love to watch a restore series for it.
love the jeep and sidekick. hoping both are successful restorations.
What a sweet find an old forgotten Willy's jeep can't wait to see what you do with it.
Love all your videos Sir! I was born in Rapid, grew up a few miles east of Hermosa, SD. Next time I'm up that way, I hope our paths cross!
Awesome find and look forward to seeing what becomes of the old Gem. Hey .... Matt! Rocking a Canadian Flag on your jacket. 👍🇨🇦
Watching from Nova Scotia, Canada!
Dang Colt that was fun. Great seeing @Matt's Offroad Recovery pay you a visit. Hey @Robby Layton have we got the painting project for you lol. :0)
Count me as another person who wants to see the Jeep given a driver-quality restoration. Make it nice again and use it for cruising around on nice days. Not every old Jeep needs a V8 and 40" Super Swampers. They're not making any more CJ-2as.
Thats pretty awesome and one of the funnest things i can think of to do for a day!!!!
LOVE the Jeep. LOVE the Suzuki. Also, LOVED all the vehicles in that yard where you got them! I could clean that yard up and take all them old trucks home. (Especially the Jeep) In any case.... This is the first time I've seen Matt( Matt's Off-road Recovery) wearing a coat. The coat came off when the handsaw came out.
South Dakota Cold ain’t no joke!
Oh nice! Yeah man! I'd follow this for sure, Love all you guys in this circle, great fun to watch.
So cool seeing you guys collaborate and make videos together.
Would love for you to do a series on 'restoring' the jeep to road safe. Save the paint and patina. Really enjoy the channel.
Yes! Would love to see more of the little green Jeep! A rebuild series would be awesome. Next project after Rats Nest XJ?
She's a runner! Nice find and great job gettin' 'er out! wow blast from the past right there guys
Brings back some great memories. The first motor I ever had part in rebuilding was a Flat 4 out of my friends 1948 Willys. Dang and that was 42-43 years ago. Had some great times wheeling in and with that Willys.
A lot of work for two vehicles, but I'm sure it will be worth it. Love that old Willy's Jeep.

So much potential!!
Loving these bleepin jeep/ Matt's off road recovery combination video. Smart thinking gentleman

That Sidekick is awesome. !! Very capable. & becoming collectable. 👍👍👍

Awesome video… yeah what I wouldn’t give to spend time with my dad…. One more time…
Sweet jeep, of course we want see more...love how the headlight look brand new
Good one Matt, nothing hot to touch.
Hey, Matt’s got a coat on. Who would believe it if they didn’t see it! Definitely would love to see this Jeep come back to its glory.
Those are two vehicles that you can get running awesome I just subscribed I liked what I saw
Thanks 👍
Would definitely love to see more of the Willy’s Jeep.
I had a 1951 willeys back in 1975 it had Chevy 283 v-8 new soft top, full cage roll bar
cj3a heater, crome wheels, painted corvette yellow it was a lot of fun.....it didn't turn very sharp......, I sold it and bought a 1974 renegade cj5 since then I've had several others now I have a2003 wrangler ....love your show ,I love in American girl utah, lots of great places to go off road
Love those flat fenders! I hope you go the patina’d locker/stocker route! But really, bringing life to any old Jeep is cool!
Excited in the Willy’s build. I pulled my 48 Willy’s out of woods after sitting for 20 years and was driving it in couple weekends.
Matt uses jacket on a sunny, still cold day and short sleeves on any winter storm. Impressive
That was absolutely fantastic almost unbelievable that Sarge was able to start
I love the camo (leaf pile) paint scheme - don't change it!
You're good people, Colt, through and through. Looking forward to these future projects.
Thank you!
I bought this junky firewood trailer at an auction and BOTH wheels have left handed lug nuts and half of them were missing. Talk about soul crushing. Glad I only paid $1 for it.
Wow that’s really weird
The reason they were missing is people assume the "righty- tighty" thing and twist them off( I'm talking studs here, not nuts) happened to me with a '65 Dodge Dart getting new tires.

Nice Jeep and Sidekick projects 👌
Absolutely redo it!. I grew up on a ranch in Colorado, We had a '47 cj2. Loved that vehicle. Fix it!! They sell for lots now
Loved Matts answer to whay did you do that "because there wasn;t anything hot to touch " classic
Definitely wanna see more of that Willy's! That would be great if you put a Suzuki motor in it🤣 awesome seeing Matt out helping you!
Another CJ Jeep recovered, well done. Looks like a pre-WW11 Ford spare wheel cover on it.
Definitely want to see what you do with the Willys. Pretty awesome that it started after so long. Very cool and had me excited to see. "Love it when a plan comes together"
This how the real world does it. One of Matt's best lines ever.
I'd love to see a restoration series of it!
Way awesome! I absolutely want to see more of the Willy's resurrection! Oh and I guess the Suzuki as well...😁
46 cj2a, sold mine a couple of years ago to move back close to the grandkids...
Fun little jeep...
Yes please, I love old Jeep recoveries. The Sidekick too. I will watch.
Sweet jeep!! Please take us along with the build.
I’m in Custer , I have a buddy that has a couple of flat fenders he would sell, a few parts to go with
That's a sweet Ford in the background. Someday, I'll do another on of those.
