    Notes & Summary:
Offseason: Testosterone enanthate or cypionate, 2 cc (400-600 mg) per week; Deca-durabolin, 2 cc (400-600 mg) per week
Pre-contest: Testosterone propionate, 1 cc (100 mg) every other day; Winstrol, 2 cc (100 mg) every other day; Anadrol, 50 mg per day; GH, 2-4 IU per day
He did not use any other steroids, GH or insulin in between cycles or after contests. He also did not use any diuretics, anti-estrogens or post-cycle therapy.
Lee started using steroids at the age of 19 and primarily used basic compounds like Deca and Primo.
He emphasized using smaller doses, around 200 milligrams per week, and found good results with that.
Lee experimented with different drugs, including Winstrol and growth hormone, but did not find growth hormone to be a "wonder drug" as it is often touted.
He used diuretics sparingly and preferred herbal alternatives for water retention.
Lee expressed caution about using insulin due to the risks involved.
He mentioned the danger of impure and contaminated products in the black market steroid industry.
Lee believes that bodybuilding is not the only sport where steroid use is prevalent and that it comes down to personal choice.
He advised that less is more when it comes to steroid use and that genetics play a significant role in achieving results.
Lee emphasized the importance of consistent training and proper nutrition over relying solely on high steroid dosages.

The owner of Gold's Gym Venice, where Lee trained in the U.S. got him his "gear." I saw in an interview where he said he was surprised at how little gear Lee used. He and Lee said that he was the only one who supplied Lee his gear, so he should know. I think that holds true because look at all the retired pros now. Or he isn't stupid enough to claim different things on different platforms after he claimed to taking minimal amounts all his life. The funny thing in my opinion is that they make fun of so called "natural bodybuilders" that bullshit about being natural and they themself do the same thing by claiming they only took minimal amounts of gear. Lee has been 100% consistent with his gear claims throughout the years. I'm 42 and can say without a doubt, the gear seemed much better back then. Pharmaceutical stuff was easy to get and I lived close to the border so trips to Mexico for Sus preloads and what not were just a drive away. The other thing I've come to believe wholeheartedly is genetics are key. I've run a local gym for quite a while and there are kids here blasting tren and test who aren't as impressive as the kid who just did his first cycle of test. The kid was taking half a cc of test because he thought the 5 on the syringe meant 500mg! This kid gained 20lbs on half a cc! I know hes not lying because he came to me with all kinds of questions and was completely clueless. I helped him for his state power lifting meet when he was in high school a few years before and he swept his 185lb division. Everyone assumed he was on gear and he was 100% clean back then. My closest friend here is on trt and if I didnt know it for a fact, I'd bet he was blasting gear. He was a division 1 athlete and an SF guy in the GWOT. Genetic freak.

Great story but are you dumb or completely ignorant.? Lee Priest competed on an Olympia stage with other giants. Fierce competition forces the athletes to do whatever it takes to make the top 6..that's where the major contracts lie with Joe Weider. Why would it benefit an Olympian conpetitor to use minimal amounts? There is no benefit. He has to push it.

Went off than about a year later prepping for contest I jumped on test n decca for 6-8 weeks bulk than cut with small amount of test decca tren cut mix I showed one friend how much I used cause he was a mma fighter that juiced a lot his jaw dropped by the little amounts I used and still have tones left over and I spent a total of 300$ that lasted me 3months. It’s good to have the narrative perspective behind these classic interviews. I believe Lee and Ronnie. These guys stood away from the pack at an early age. They were born to do this. You give a genetic freak creatine and he’s going to respond way better than your average person who also takes creatine. Not to mention gear, minimal amounts of gear. You only have but so many androgen receptors. Heck, they become saturated on conservative dosages. You don’t need a lot of any of that stuff if you’ve been blessed to do this. You’ve gotta eat, eat, eat, rest, and train like a demon. If you do that, you can grow like a weed on just a trt dose.

Someone could become critically hypoglycemic from taking insulin when they thought it was GH for a few reasons. One is because GH is normally reconstituted to achieve a 1IU per .10mL. Insulin is normally 10 units per .10mL. So if someone was intending to take 4 IU, this could easily result in taking 40 units of insulin. Since most bodybuilders believe in taking GH on an empty stomach, their glucose is likely 100 or less. A significant dose of insulin could easily drop their glucose down to 20 or less which would result in loss of consciousness. If no one was around to witness this, the person would continue to go without any medical intervention...the most critical of which being administration of glucose...preferably via IV. Without some source of sugar being consumed within a reasonable period of time, the person would likely not survive.

This is pure genetics and hard work. Jay cutler saw priest when he was 21 and commented saying he was the most insane/impressive bodybuilder he'd seen. Lee barely used any gear, then cut it out to barely anything in offseason but still looked amazing. His genetic response to gear is amazing

Depends in what country do you live i guess, here the standard pharma deca was 75mg/ml, never been into drugs 20 years ago but i remember clearly older guys in the gym ( i was 15yrs old back then) pinned deca and popped dbol like crazy, both were cheap af and widely available

Hey Derek can you do an in depth talk about the use of insulin in bodybuilding. I’m a type 1 diabetic and have to take insulin 6-10 times a day depending on eating frequency. Also for type 1 diabetics our sliding scale is completely different from person to person. Meaning like I take 1 unit of fast acting for every 6 carbs and 1 unit of insulin for every 20 my blood sugar is over 120. Seems like a lot of people don’t understand insulin or how it works and I am personally interested to hear about it from a bodybuilding standpoint rather than a type 1 diabetic.

Lee is always honest, he's literally the only one in these Platz interviews not trying to hide his identity

man I was really laughing my ass off at how many things were sorta foreshadowed, like lee priest talking about people taking way more drugs than horses, something you just talked about with cattle, the coincidence is hilarious, and best of all tom platz predicting "some of our viewers probably won't believe you" a debate that's been raging on for over 20 years now, no one wants to admit lee's dosages could have been real.

I really like your channel and I'm asking for some advice. Im pretty skinny I do a upper lower split every other day.I just don't grow if I eat above 2500 calories I just pack on stomach fat. My question is about hgh or something that will improve my gains without distorting my junk and body?

My father explained to me that back in the day, they only had pharmacy stuff available and it was quite a bit pricey so they kept their usage low . That and they didn’t rely on steroids but more for dieting down for shows to hold on to as much muscle as possible . But yes dosages were a lot lower back then but it was pharmaceutical grade so much wasn’t needed. Also, people that say it’s genetics = either don’t know what they’re doing and lack the consistency in comparison to pros etc.
