Using same laptop since 2015, replacing thermal paste and dusting internals once a year and minor upgrades since then. Its still very responsive to use

I clean my laptop externally once a week and I recently repasted my Lenovo legion 5 2021 let me telly u guys it performs even better than it was brand new I think these companies cheap out on thermal paste so changing it after 1 year is must to get full potential of device and I use it on battery conservation mode and its battery is still running great even after 2 yrs I will say its not 100 % in condition but battery backup is still amazing

You forget to apply thermal paste on the DRAMs, MOSFETs and the inductors. But good work keep it up 👍
You don't need to apply thermal paste there as for those you need thermalpads.both are different
@@MinerTechTipsAs an ECE graduate and a system Engineer @Bluehost let me tell you when you do some graphics intensive work on your system the MOSFETs and Inductors will draw more current same for DRAMs also which will resulted in high heat, which will reduce the performance and longevity of those components.

@@ajoysarkar7346 lol and as a tech enthusiast i can confirm thermal paste doesnt go there lol. Thermal pads are used there both are diiferent and used for different uses like this
@@MinerTechTipsHe is correct you should use thermal paste, Thermal paste is always better that than Thermal pads because in thermal pads thier can be air gaps, and as you told you where not able to touch that part, you should use thermal paste.

We normally ignore old devices and always tend to upgrade...I upgraded my Acer Aspire M (Dunno the model number). Just added 256GB SSD, and trust me it has been 2 years, I'm still using it. However, it has old 5th gen intel i5 CPU with no graphic card, so I'm having problems in multitasking and yeah obviously I can't play games XD. I can't believe I managed to use such an old laptop for straight 2 years after upgrade. That's why, never underestimate old generations XD
yooo great but listen i have a 13-14 yr old lenovo laptop intel dual core processor and 2gb ram no graphics card... never upgraded anything and here's the twist i can still do normal multitasking and low end gaming like(minecraft) with playable fps. That's why, never underestimate old generations XD 😂

@@Lovelynigga The processor is quite old...it has 5th gen duo core...SSD was just used replacing hard drive that was damaged. My laptop over heats, and stutters a lot
all those problems could be easily fixed by the previous owner. I think he just upgraded and didn't want to keep this one

Just a quick tip never use cleaning solutions like Colin to clean displays it will ruin it . Just use distilled water and if the stains are not going away use a pinch of dish soap
I'm using my 6 yrs old HP pavilion on direct power supply so it's no big deal for me.

Same I had Asus rog strix G531GT which had i5 9th gen and 1650 card and 8gb ram and 60hz after 6-7 months it started heating a lot that my temps on idle on low mode it was touching 95*C so I sold it for half the price sadly and upgraded to Gaming pc and now I can throw any effect it handles great so remember if u want a laptop for editing mainly adobe and c4d or blender then straight away get a pc !!! dont waste money on laptops since they last max 1.5-3 years

you should never use something like Colin to wipe your screen, use screen cleaning spray instead. it doesnt damage the screen

No problem in using collin as it is diluted.if you use alcohol directly to clean the screen, it may cause the surface to lose the top coat.
He's literally using toothbrush ,I dont think collin matters that much.

But dont use isopropyl alcohol on the screen it will damage it i have a rog laptop too btw
don't worry isopropyl alcohol is safe, what is not safe is detergent, collin and acetone (nail polish remover). DO NOT use acetone ever, it will make sure your display is glossier than before

Laptop Hackinthoshing is even not recommended by Opencore but i didn't said it's not possible. What will he do if USB mapping, Wifi Bluetooth or Sleep doesn't work, will you fix it even it is not fixed by any boot argument or kext? Don't feel superior
