They should have done this for the last 2 seasons. Them living in a big apartment in New york for the last 2 seasons instead of having the new glee club in season 6. They could still sing and make songs, and they would be with all of their friends.
That's effectively what the second half of the 5th season is if you think about it, just they are split into two appartements (because Klaine decided not to live together)

You know if they do turn this dream into a spin-off series I think I have a way to explain Puck and Santana’s absences cause I would hate it if the writers chose to have them die like Finn so with Puck they could have him still in the Air Force or because he and Quinn have chosen to be a couple they could have him going to college in New Haven to be close to her since we all know how Glee handles long distance relationships and for Santana they could have her try again with college and try pursuing a dance career since I liked her revealing her ballet past and taking extension classes in season 4 but then suddenly she wants to be on broadway so she could attend Juilliard with Brittany since it makes more sense for Brittany to go to that college or they could have them move to lesbian island
