This is proof that a honda will last forever.
Yes all Honda’s last
The 300 inline 6s
Jason, you're supposed to open the compression release (left side top of engine) when trying to pull start it
nobody did that back in the day ether
"Poor man's dipstick cleaner ... ".
LMAO. I laughed so hard birds flew out of the tree nearby. 🤣🤣🤣
They had some cool body designs back in the golden area. Working on a 87 TRX 125 I found in a barn. Getting it restored my my grandson. Plastics are a hard thing to come by.
Super hard. I still have yet to find some for the 200sx that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Still hoping to find some decent used one’s🤞
@@AppalachianMountainRiders Yes sir! Ive got one half of a front fender and the center front body piece. The rest are lost to time. People must have been hard on their atv's in 87 plastic wise. Got mine running like a top, just cleaning and repainting things now. Amazing how well these Honda engines survive the times and still run so well. I guess the Chinese were on to something cloning them. I used a Chinese aftermarket carb on mine, had to modify it to mount but it runs great.
I have that same Fourwheeler with all original parts and it still runs great I use it everyday. Honda’s are the best!!
That little guy is gonna love riding that thing when he’s bigger
Matt Conner yes he really is
You're sons the most helpful little babba
I inherited a 1986 Fourtrax 200SX from my Mother's estate. My Dad had drained the gas from the tank and carburetor. It was last run in 2000. I put a new battery in it, filled it with new gas, and it started right up! It idles a little rough, and seems a bit rich, so I will be rebuilding the carburetor this spring, but other than new tires, it rides and drives great!
What a fun, nimble little machine!
Awesome!
My dad just picked up my old four wheeler and it's this exact model and colors. We're gonna restore it same as this fellow
Yet another Honda still kicking ass they are hands-down the best
I just got a 1986 honda 200sx fourtrax 4/19/20 and all it needed was afew parts, and thats it.this guy is treating his fourwheeler like dirt.
I have the same honda bought in 2001 rode it for 3 years then put away in my dad's storage warehouse. Zippy was a good project name. Honda will always be Honda. Good reliable engines.
i had one and pound for pound this is one of the toughest, easiest to maintain bikes ever produced. almost impossible to destroy like a toyota truck
I have the same exact one I love it they are indestructible!!
i pulled one of those that sat in the woods in the poconos for 5 years it was a mess but it runs good now
Jason didn't even expect a reply to that comment. When i saw that old 200 trx it brought back a lot of memories.I live in south Fla not a lot of places to ride.I think little man will love it when its done.
ours sat 15 years...put new carb on it...fired right up
My 1988 Honda 200sx started first pull with just a bit of carb cleaner after about 4 years
I have a Honda 200sx and it was just siting and fixed it up only had to replace the seat and a hand break on it, recently replaced the chain tension rod and if there was one thing I would change about it would have to be the chain driven axle, its a constant pain to adjust and tighten the chain.
I hear that about the chain! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve jumped the chain out on the trail...lol.
Damn once u showed the quad that’s actually in good shape
Theres one of these for sale an hour from me for 500 but the plastic is mint.
You still have it she's a beauty
I do. All the videos of the rebuild are on the channel. Though I have since pulled the motor and am using it to power a go kart for my kids. I couldn’t bring myself to spend over $500 on new plastics for a machine that at best is worth $600-$800…lol. Build videos of the go kart are on the channel too for what I’ve gotten done so far.
My choice of ride way back was 1984 200 X Honda ATC
Ive looked thru your channel for the part 2 and there's no part 2 and this is now 2020😂🤟
randy antoine actually there are a total of 11 vids with this build...must not have looked to hard...😂😂😂😁😜.
Here’s a link to the playlist ruclips.net/p/PLk3TzxQ0ZRwi1bYAra0yg4xv4F8FMVE3s
We have one in like new condition only thing wrong is a little crack in fender
I have one in is badly beat up missing all of the plastics leaks a little bit of oil but it has a timing problem and one of the valves are not closing it's having blowback out of the intake have to replace the head
I have the same atv and still works like it just came out of the box it has 5 gears and reverse
i have one amd its looks and runs like its brand new!!
I’ve got one even more beat than that one. Ran like a champ though until I ripped the recoil off trying to start it. Didn’t have any brakes either but it was fun..
Hondas are built for work and reliability, they're pure fucking tanks.
Clean the carburetor it can be really dirty and still start surprisingly but it freaking can mine sat for 3 years electric start worked
Thank you for saying that I’ll have to check mine
@@2035jim I'm 14 but it is easy to take care of as long as you are careful I am actually thinking about buying another one to fully fix mine and restore it
Johnson Outdoors oh nice
Lots of comments about how great and long lasting this little 4-wheeler was - and I’ll second that. Had one since Christmas 1987. My question (and I’m afraid I know the answer): what ATV out there on the market today would come remotely close to that kind of durability?? What is the most dependable option these days? Still a Honda or ???
Still Honda or Yamaha but they are not like they used to be unfortunately.
Now there's a lot of 4 strokes. I don't even know if they make 2 stroke 4-wheelers anymore?
@@AppalachianMountainRidersjust wanted to say there's a company called Mayers plastic ( don't know if my spellings rite) They are supposed to be unbreakable.
I kept breaking my rear fender and did the same with the zip ties 150 bucks for new fender got old quick.
my uncle died and he had one of these it’s been sitting for 5 years and i pulled it out put sum new gas she started right up
Any idea where i could find a throttle linkage aswell as the thumb throttle for it? i'm getting one that i plan on restoring, appreciate it!
Parts are hard to come by anymore. Best is do a google search and see what comes up. eBay has been the best parts place for it I have found. You just have to have patience and check often for newly posted stuff.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders Thanks man!
mine is all original and in perfect condition
Well... guess you know I can’t say that about mine...hahaha!
It will be back in tip top shape soon.
Hello can you show me a picture of where the ground wire goes ? From batter to where? Thanks!
I love them fourwheelers but the chain, sprockets and rear end are pretty weak
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll keep that in mind when I restore it.
I have the same exact four wheeler but my chain keeps coming off does anyone know why
@@2035jim I had to take a link out of mine
I'm looking into one of these for $450 and this has helped me make my decision
DrDeathJr96's Game Room I hope it was for yeah! If it’s in decent shape $450 is a decent price. These will go for about $800 in mint condition
@@AppalachianMountainRiders the one I was looking at was sold lol... sucks.. but still looking. I'm dead set on one of these to be honest. An amazing bike, always wanted one.
DrDeathJr96's Game Room I’m hoping to have mine back up and running in the next week or two! Make sure to check out the rest of the restore vids of zippy too!
@@yourlocalplaguedoctor9194 hey are you still looking for one of these?
@@oldforddude1741 not quite anymore. I got my fathers 2007 Grizzly, so that took care of all my needs 😂. Why do you ask?
I've had the oil problem before it's one of the four bolts on the pull starter housing bolts must be missing
My left side crank case cover was actually broke at one point and fixed with a electrical tape and JB weld...lol. I show it in one of the later videos and end up replacing the crankcase cover.
Put a supertrapp pipe and barnett clutch on it like i did to mine and it will fly.
Rapid Transit sounds like some great future upgrades to give zippy!
Can you explain a bit more please
I got an 88 and it’s great
I have one of those four wheelers and I want to take out the engine and put it in a lawnmower
True ethanol does suck
Almost looks like mine lol.
go dada go go go
What up im from guaymas i got one of the trx honda 200 qnd i want to know were i cant fine de decomp lever i yous lost and lose the oil i want to fix if you can helpe telme a bout
Es una de las motos mas resistentes que conosco.
I have the same one and I crash it it stalls let it sit for a minute and it’s fixed
My friend has one of these and when you put it in reverse i was dead cause every time he goes to back up he gets off and pulls next time I take it for a spin in going to have to put it in reverse
😂😂😂 that is too funny!
I am getting one tomorrow
Thanks for the heart we got it but we need the petcock it is coming Friday.
I'm 13 and thinking about saving up and buying one would you recommend it?
They are tough little tanks! The one I have was beaten and neglected most of its life and would still start right up! Got decent power too!
@@AppalachianMountainRiders ok thanks
Thunder
In 1986 when my aunt was 15 years old
I was 2 years old!😂😂😂
Is this the same engine in the old Honda big red 3 wheelers?
Yep. Some small differences in a couple minor things but by in large it’s the same. I’m he Clymer manual covers the differences between the 3-wheel and 4-wheel models when they arise.
Song name please 👍
It is one of the royalty free songs included in the editing software I use, Filmora. The song is called Midnight Train by Living Pulse
Does he not have a chain cover he did it not come with one 😂
Nope...lol. Like I said, the old girl had a rough life before I got it!
I had one hard finding parts you see a lot of discontinued
eBay has been my friend! Have to be patient and wait for things to pop up but I have found all the replacement parts I have needed.
What "restoration" was done ???
Check out my other vids with zippy to see what all I’ve gotten done with it!
It's probably going to take a couple pulls... Starts right up! Lol! Honda.
Check out some of my restoration videos if you get s chance. Drop me a comment. I specialize in Japanese classics.
Good luck with "Project Phoenix." Lol! It's going to be a beauty! 🇺🇸🏁
Mike Yerke I have been watching your vids as time allows and subscribed! I usually check out people's content that comment on my vids.
AppalachianMountianRiders Thanks man! 🏁
I have the same four wheeler and like showing everyone that I can start it with one pull, It's another story when the motor is hot
Mine starts up 1 or 2 pulls hot or cold.
Wonder if your piston is warped a bit? Once it’s hot and expands might be a little tighter in the head causing more pressure making it harder to kick over and start.
Are you actually in The Appalachians?
Yep! Central PA!
AppalachianMountainRiders Yea man I’m down here in Virginia right in the Blue Ridge
I’m actually in the process of restoring a 1986 Honda Trx 70
what is the transmission on that?
Clutchless 5 speed
Zippy quicky
The old honda.
I have a Factory original exhaust on mine i will take a look at it and send you some pics if your interested i am in Florida so i am pretty sure it is in much better shape then yours
Zipity du da
Music name please??
It is one of the royalty free songs included in the editing software I use, Filmora. The song is called Midnight Train by Living Pulse
I got one but its a 1988
How much cc does it have?
I believe it’s 198cc but I may be a bit off on that.
199cc
I’m selling mine
Condition and location?
Project hondinstine
Hondas are ass that's why it died as soon as you let off the gas
