Profoundly grateful for this. Arguably the best lesson on soloing. Not being patronizing, pun unintended. Been scanning many you tube clips, some demonstrating the same song etc, for past 8 years, this is the clip where I had an epiphany. Wow!! Love the way you unwittingly harness our egos and help us stay on track. And the rest just follows. During the course of this clip I just had moments of 'let me sprint, now that I'm over with crawling' but I followed humbly through with your constant reminder of baby steps. Sheer brilliant way of tutoring. Warm regards from Sunny South Africa
And there you have it. Someone just taught you the CAGED system without even mentioning the word and without overwhelming you.
It seems pretty simple now but it was pretty cool to realize the triads were in the bar chord shapes. If you forget the triads you can always go to the bar chord and pick the notes out.
Thanks for this vid. This is the way the fretboard should be taught for beginners. Gives a clear roadmap to learning how to actually become a good guitarist rather than just spamming pentatonics.
Very well explained. Simple to understand.
Proud to be your 522 sub and first comment. You've got some serious chops and I have much to learn.
Nicely explained and demonstrated mate! 👍 I'll have to share this with ppl I've been helping. I like to see these triads fit into the CAGED chord shapes to add notes and help map the fretboard out.
As a suggestion, you need another bubble with the camera on your guitar to see the fingerings.
I think we’re gonna get along just nicely 👍
Great video brother, I’ve been struggling to get a decent vibrato and bent vibrato, any tips
I'm here to learn.
to be fair i didnt click on this video because i dont know how to play across changes, i was just intrigued by why any guitarist would have a problem with this,, that said this may well help me explain a few things to some friends I tutor,,
Hahahahhaa
At 15.21 your diagram shows the green root in the third graphic as a "D" confusing? Should it be the "G" thats green?
Yes you are correct. He mislabeled it
Nice and really helpful 👍😊
I've been trying for 2 years now. It feels like I'm never going to be able to play through changes
Book a call with me, link is in the description. I’ll be able to help you out bro
Thats why i dont jam.I play only covers.problem solved.
You would kick yourself if you put so much effort into playing throughout your life and just around the corner was all these AMAZING WOHOAAHH MOMENTS! Every cover song you play will slot together. And you'll mutter these famous words. ' I wish someone had shown me this ten years ago!'
