One of the most perplexing aspects of this whole sin/forgiveness struggle is that it's entirely a choice that one makes. One chooses to err; one chooses to atone. We are simply beings imbued with all the resources necessary to make informed choices about EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME. Our experience, environment, indoctrination, upbringing, chemistry, neuro-condition, general biology, etc., etc. had NO part to play in any of this. It's only a matter of personal responsibility-and it's all on us, as individuals. We are all on the same plane, the same level, equal for everyone, so if you "sin," that's all on you. This been enough for those sheepherders of the Bronze Age, but we now know so much better than this. Andy Stanley is selling Bronze Age technology to a world capable of landing rovers on Mars. Nothing offered in the above is helpful, at all. You can join his club, and maybe the belonging will give you something-studies show it can work for many-but these are oversimplified answers to very difficult questions. He's unqualified to give anyone any advice. He has no background in this. His college degree was in Journalism before he went to a Seminary. I'd suggest to all who'd watch this: Keep looking. The answers are elsewhere.
I must be one of those in the studies. His teachings certainly helped pull me out of an addiction and taught me to love myself and others the way that Jesus commanded. I just don’t get how both theist and atheist are constantly criticizing a man that is sincerely trying to help others through love.
