I know the piece from other places. All, but particularly the opening, is stunning. As a piece of ceremonial music, for a solemn occasion, those muffled drums beating to the slow, measured pace of pallbearers, moves me to tears. Every time, as effectively as the first. Clearly, besides being a wonderful composer, Purcell understood the human heart.
It's me again. I have listened to this several times now. I think its magnificent. Brilliant sound. Purcell would love it. Thank you profoundly for creating it.
PS: Purcell wrote an intimate piece. While this amplified version is LOUD, it is not an improvement on the original score and orchestration. Take a listen to a period-appropriate performance, please.
no where do i say that i'm trying to to be historically accurate, this is my interpretation. In the 19th century it was a thing to rework small old pieces for large Symphony Orchestra. I'm continuing this movement because i love it. And... i think that the composers would love it too. Have you for example listened to Elgar's rework of Bach's Fantasie und Fuge BWV 537?
Written for the funeral of queen Mary II, who was the daughter of James II and the wife of William of Orange, aka William III. They reigned as joint sovereigns following the Glorious Revolution in which James II - the last of the Stuart kings - had been deposed. It was the only time we have had joint sovereigns. Mary died of virulent smallpox. William, who had caught and survived it as a youngster, sent away everyone who was at risk of catching it and helped to nurse her himself. Unlike Mary I (Bloody Mary) Mary II was much loved and genuinely mourned
@@anastassiosperakis2869 yes and no. i would rather have have video of the performance of this piece in a cathedral. but as i don't have this, these images are in the right direction atmosphere wise.
Rich, dramatic and grand, I love it!!
The scoring for many more instruments makes the music sound even more sublime - love this ❤
Thank you!
A really memorable rendition!

Very good!

FANTÁSTICO. UM SHOW DE MÚSICA E IMAGENS COMPUTADORIZADAS 4K. PARABÉNS GEERT.
Thank you!!
bel arrangement merci
Beethoven's music featured as well (9th Symphony) as well as the delicious "Thieving Magpie Overture" of Rossini.
Not to mention I Want to Marry a Lighthouse Keeper.
O filme é maravilhoso. Porém, consigo me lembrar das músicas muito mais do que das imagens do filme.
monumental 💪♥️♥️♥️
I am flattered.
Immense Purcell
Very dark and very moving. It would have been nice if you orchestrated more of the movements. Hope you can make the score available at some point.
@@klscomus thank you, working on it
Wow!
Fascinante y perfecta.
A. U. T. O. S. A. G. Sublime.
Definitely not the bombast that Purcell would write.😢
Purcell wrote some wonderful music and the orchestration has done it proud! The superb stills from the film are pretty good too but which film is it?
this composition reminds me war scenes not a funeral

Love your work so much..... So beautiful. Elegant and powerful. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. @@ghuinink
I think it's an improvement. I had always considered Purcell's music to be bland until now. This version uplifts it.
@Fomites listen to Dido and Aeneas and The Fairy Queen, and his choral music, it's not bland at all.
On peut entendre ce morceau dans le film de Stanley Kubrick (orange mécanique)!
Ah, bon. Quelle découverte! (C´est écrit dans le titre, gros malin).
Que gran genio musical!!! 😍
Oranje forever! ANd now we got our Oranje President again in the US!

Un grande, ma è l'unico musicista vero che ha saputo dare l'Inghilterra. Niente di paragonabile alla Germania e all'Italia

Love the music. Hate the AI shit illustrations.
you cannot upload music without an image, what would you suggest instead?
Pray tell, which Queen Mary?

great music, but what the hell are these irrelevant paintings? I am sure they had nothing in common with QM's funeral!
