Thanks so much, Lee! I enjoy your videos, and the creativity you put into them. I just watched this one, so only have 5 days before Xmas2023. Will need to wait for Xmas 2024 to make it happen for my family members. Thanks again.
Thanks for this idea. I made 'a bunch' of these in the past couple of days - started with a couple and then I found more were added to the 'HoneyDo List'. :) Nice project and a good chance to try out my inverted parting tool setup on the back of the extended cross-slide I made for my Logan 210. It has a threaded chuck so I never run it in reverse. Merry Christmas!
Thoughts on work holding a one inch ball bearing to surface grind a flat for mill vise application. V blocks to capture between but may still spin? Drill a hole first? Surface grinder vise block? This I see as best option with soft metal inserts to spare hardened vise jaws damage.
Thank you. I do have a question for you about your lathe. I have a lathe similar to yours but just a bit different, the PM1130. The carriage stop on yours, is it modified? Mine uses a cap bolt from the factory mid ways on the cross slide and it's a pain to use especially when you have the tail stop up close and I'm going to have to come up with a way to modify my carriage lock in order to have something that is easier to use. I just got done making and replacing the spindle lock nut on mine so I can have a spindle spider on my lathe, they didn't make that an easy job they way they designed it. I have some 3/4" plate (laminating two together to get 1.5" wide) on order and will be making a center rest/carrier for mine since the one that comes with the lathe is very limited on size and I would also like it to use bearings.
Nothing better than a homemade gift should be much appreciated
Thanks for sharing Lee. Glad to see your wife in the Barn. Merry Christmas!!!!

That is cool

I wish you had not used reverse, my old lathes have screw on Chucks. I am sure I can adapt. Good project!
Run forward, turn the compound away from You having the angle on the other side of the center line. Your arm is likely longer then Lee's arm...

A bit more artistic 😅 she has done painting thing before. If I had to to pain them I would have had to spray them
Spray them after the knurling. Once the paints dry, lightly sand it. Think that might look pretty good too👍
