I remember this match. I saw it in live on TV. Once again I feel awesome emotions. Liqin and Ryu legends!
Such beautiful footwork from Ryu Seung Min! Just a joy to watch.
Sometimes i think games in 2000s is more entertaining than games nowadays.
Yes it is.. today its very hard to do some movea becouse game is a lot faster
RSM greatest JPen player of all time !
Better than his mentor, Kim Taek Soo?
@@ttrocks5985 id say yes, Kim had a better backhand, but i felt ryu had an amazing forehand, so aggressive as well in his style. But both great players in their each right.
@@sumitshrestha2986 Yes, RSM had a great forehand and incredible footwork to allow him to get to that forehand. Unbelievably fast on his feet.
@@sumitshrestha2986 RSM had better short game and serve than Kim.The 40mm ball hurt their style without doubt.Speed glue ban was the final nail in the coffin.
@@dickn.ormous1064 Yeah but he was already around 34 in 2014 when the 40+ plastic ball became a thing, and for his playstyle that is also really old, his peak was a few years before the 40+ ball. But it hurt more players like kenta
@ITTF Why can't new videos have the same framerate as 14 years ago?
Fiyaaah i know right?
Absolutely vicious picture of Ryu in the thumbnail while he's such a nice guy
2:42 Wow.. that shot was just on the white line
WLG trademark.. what a player 😎
RSM my favorite player of all time. Bring back the old ball! This is table tennis, not tennis.
Wlq destroys rsm most of the time
@@pingpong9005so what?
@@alexdelarge5703 wlq is far better then..rsm no match anywhere ...be it tatctics, block etc
@@pingpong9005 yeah cool when did anyone here say that RSM was better than Wang Liqin?
@@alexdelarge5703 why r u offended..
WLQ is a hell of a TT specimen. I play Jpen, but good god WLQ's forehand is devastating.
Beautiful editing
Two of my favorite players. I adore them both. Wlq is the greatest shaekehand player and rsm is the greatest pen holder
WLQ one of a kind… Unique player
Legends
RSM my idol
Scheduled premier for a 14 yo match....right
They uploaded this WTTC as a throwback because this year's got cancelled.
Ah...the good old days when the ball was small and penhold was still a viable option.
You do know that World #1 is a penholder right now, right ?
@@ozymands they mean real penholders
@@noah7477 Xu Xin isn't one?
@@anujmchitale he used to be
@@noah7477 Why isn't he a real penholder anymore?
ittf going back to the future, quaility significantly better 14 years ago...lol
Looks like Ryu lost because of the service error
Who had better footwork than Ryu Seung Min?
Nobody
Some players may have had more efficient footwork but I would argue no one matched RSM in raw speed.
What about ma long the dragon?
@@mahdialmasud6479 I do not think that Ma long has better footwork. Tactically he is smarter and plays shots that benefit where he might be more of the time. But Ryu still had better footwork.
xu xin
Ryu sen ne anasının gözüsün be reyiz. Tüm potansiyelini kullanıyor adam
1:05
5:50
If RSM had a backhand, he would have been unbeatable
Same with wang
His footwork and forehand probably developed to this point because of his refusal to develop a backhand
Wang 👍
5:23
7:44 !
Consistency VS Speed
Ryu Legs😮 so insane
RSM the last phenholder......
too craze
Is there something as a penhold defender?
There was. The Chinese player Zhang Xielin back in 1960's was a penhold chopper
Way hard to be a JPEN player nowadays!
If RSM was shake hand type, nobody was able to win to him.
WLQ and his illegal service.
No it's not considering RSM still can see the ball
@@azriazhar6288 It was one of the most illegal serves. He started with his back facing the opponent and pivoted his whole body when making contact.
Yet his serve was the most average among Chinese players since Kong Linghui.
It seems that you are more professional than the referee lol.
