    My Grandma was from Norway. She was captured by the Germans in WW 2 and forced to work in the kitchens for them. She never taught us her native language, even though she spoke 8 different ones herself. I have found your site fascinating and very informative and useful. Thank you so much for posting these kinds of videos. I have gained a great respect for this language and have learned a lot here in general these past few days..

    This is awesome. I can easily follow the word on screen read it and spell it as you say it then practice at normal speed.
    2 things.
    Do you have more phrases in this format.
    Is there an order that they are in so I can follow all your lessons ( provided they have this format)

    Jeg vil takke deg så mye! Videoene dine hjelper meg kjempemasse! For øyeblikket bor jeg i USA, men jeg har veldig lyst til å flytte til Norge. Jeg har møtt en norsk familie som bor i USA for øyeblikket. Kan du lage en video om de to norske toner? Det ville hjelpe meg så mye! Takk igjen for alt. Veldig takknemlig for svar!
    Mvh

      @eduardo0796 10 лет назад +1

      Hello Landon, I don't mean to offend you I just want you to learn proper norwegian. By ''For øyeblikket'' what do you mean? First, people usually say ''For et øyeblikk'' which means ''For a moment'' or something like that. Second, I believe you mean ''Right now''. In that case it would be ''Akkurat nå'' and then what you need to say. For example ''Right now I live in the USA'' would be ''Akkurat nå bor jeg i USA''. And last, what do you exactly mean by ''de to norske toner''?
      Hope it helps mate.

      I literally mean for the moment. I've heard my friends from Stavanger say that exact sentence.

  • @Rafikiler

    in the video you said that "Det var på tide" means "it's about time", but in the description it says "it was about time". I've encountered a similar thing in my Norwegian coursebook with "Det var en god ide" translated as "it's a good idea". Why is the past word "var" used here then?
