- Allen & Heath was introducing the GS-R24M. The original concept for the
GS-R24 was for a larger version of the ZED-R16 with similar routing philosophy, high quality pre-amo and EQ. Interaction with recording musicians and engineers has resulted in many new features being added - a full width meterbridge for example, optional interface cards and more flexibility in workflow setup. The GS-R24 is the culmination of many things - exceptional analogue design, flexible usability, control and integration with digital workstations - and with an easily removed interface card it can be future-proofed against fast-moving technology, helping it to go gain the statu of a true modern classic. Sad how people didn't understand that this is an amazing gift. It is the answer to home recording and AH knew that but the people didn't twig!
This is perfect for small studios that doesn't need too many channels, but want a step-up in sound quality. Amazing.
Amazing mixer from the amazing Allen & Heath company. Can't wait to get mine.
What a beast of a console for hybrid mixing/recording on a budget!
Thank you so much guys. Great video.
This is still in 2020 a great console and not matched by anything until you get to 50 grand.
Thank you.
Hola, gracias de ante mano para la respuesta. Una consulta hoy 2022 me recomiendas adquirir esa consola ?
Espero tus recomendaciones.
Gracias
Id really love it if they made a channel strip / interface / summing bus rack unit....like a Zed r16 but scaled down into a rack...
yea, I would love to have this thing. Settling for the zed r16 in the meantime...
spot on
Great video thanks for this. Anyone had any luck interfacing this with logic in 2023? Any advice would be appreciated
Informative, (and timely) as I'm considering buying this desk. I'm just not sure how I would do an automated mix however with moving faders with my Alesis ADAT model HD24-XR hard disk recorder. I beleive you make a Light Pipe Card to interface with the Alesis, but how would I get an automated flying fader style mixdown. Thanks.....Phil
Only 24 + 2 valve channels? I'm constantly between 32 - 48 channels in a mix. And sometimes quite a bit more. Great idea, but needs expandability. Or at least 32 channels.
Plus more busses. Alas, they don't make this console anymore :(
This was the Swiss army knife of consoles. The problem was that it cost $10k. I really wanted one, but just couldn't justify it.
Thats perfect
can i control with the faders some banks?
or is it only for the 24 channels?
Hi,
I am interested in this mixing desk but it seems it has been discontinued. Is it possible to find it anywhere in the UK/Europe?
Seems such a good mixing desk, I wonder why it has been discontinued.
Toni Fernandez still fully supported by Allen & Heath. It is not discontinued due to problems or recalls. It is a great console still to date.
How do the converters of the zed r16 compare to the highend interfaces like Apogee or Lynx?
Also I wondering if the EQ section is the same on GSR24 and ZED R16? Would love to buy a ZED r16 because the GSR is out of my pricerange :D
Why do so many videos about high quality audio products have shit sound?
And now we in 2021 and same issue lmao
🤣🤣🤣
