The friendship of Woody and Buzz is one of the best things about this movie, I agree with you that the other toys were mean to Woody super unnecessarily most the time in the movie
Great reaction. That moment when Buzz and Woody are flying together and Buzz quotes "This isn't flying, it's falling with style." back to him always brings a tear to my eye. You should definitely watch the second one at least, to me that is the best one in the series.
"Bed Sheets for a kids birthday". Depending on the bedsheets I would have thought it was awesome. Star Wars, or Spider-Man bedsheets were prized, and I even had a favorite western set of bedsheets.
Cool. To me Toy Story 2 is the best of the series. Some other great classic animated movies to check out, The Iron Giant, Shrek 1 or 2, The Fox and the Hound, Monsters Inc, and An American Tail.
*The actor who voiced Buzz, Tim Allen, also starred in a sitcom, at the time, called "Home Improvement" (1991-1997) on the ABC network, here the US. His character, "Tim", hosted a TV show called "Tool Time", where he and his partner, "Al", demonstrated how to fix things in your home and also make improvements. And the show's main sponsor was "Binford Tools", which is the name you see on the tool box, in Sid's room. Disney bought ABC in 1995, so they were able to that Easter egg in the movie.*
Also, yes this is a horror movie (for the Sids House sequence at least). The wallpaper and carpets in Sids house are made to look like the hall carpets in the Overlook Hotel from the Shining
Love the cozy Friday 😌 The Toy Story franchise is great. Not only are they fun & creative, they also display good values. You should do a reaction to TS2. It's a great sequel.
Woody undergoes a massive transformation throughout the story. For a long time he was the only one at the head of the "society" in Andy's room. From up there it was relatively easy to preach to the other toys that the only thing that mattered was being there for Andy when he needed them. For himself, however, first place in the hierarchy was a matter of course. That affects self-esteem. Then Buzz came and everything changed. Now that he found himself in the role of subordinate, his own slogans from the past were suddenly meaningless. From that point on, he himself had to arduously learn what he had previously told the others.
With Marvel and Star Wars dominating Disney media, it's sad that fewer people are discovering the older Disney classics like "Bedknobs and Broomsticks," "The Black Hole," "The Apple Dumpling Gang," and "Candleshoe," among others.
Hey Blue, I'm guessing you had a serious problem with SID and his campaign to destroy all toys in his possession. I especially love when Sid switches the head on his sister's doll. Let's not forget the walking spider baby and the muscle bound duck. There is a kid like Sid in every child group. Love the destructiion, fear, and problem child contrast that Sid brings to the toy world. A toy's worst nightmare.
I like the idea. It's good to mix things up a bit. Also, the ears are ridiculously huge, and I'm loving it lol. 7:49 Considering that he's voiced by Tom Hanks, that's the resemblance that just gets programmed into my head. I'm actually just as surprised as you are that you didn't catch that until the end credits lol.
You asked why Woody looks familiar. It's because he looks like Tom Hanks, the actor who voiced him. The question of what happens when the kid grows up is addressed in later Toy Story movies. The toys in this movie look more real than the human characters (and the dog). Animation has gotten a lot better than it was in 1995 (when this movie came out). But the character and plot in Toy Story are so good that it doesn't matter. People will still love this movie even when animation gets so good that you can't distinguish it from reality. One moment I love is when Sid's freaky patched-together toys repair Buzz. It's a nice lesson for kids about judging by appearances. I think you should react to the other Toy Story movies. They're all excellent, and each has a different theme. They're not just repeats of the first movie. You called Toy Story "old school" because it was from 1995. There are a lot of very good children's movies that are older than that. Some I would recommend: The Wizard of Oz (1939) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971, not the inferior remake with Johnny Depp from 2005) Babe (1995) E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) Home Alone (1990) - You might want to save this one for the Christmas season. Mary Poppins (1964) Of these films, The Wizard of Oz is the most significant. It's not just a movie, but a cultural touchstone. Any movie lover should watch it.
This isn't a spoiler because it isn't canon and it doesn't effect any story arc: in Toy Story 3 we see someone who's probably Sid. He's in his late teens or early 20s, he's working as a garbage collector, and he seems very happy and well-adjusted. A lot of fans have surmised that he was a troubled kid, and making new toys out of other toys was just his twisted way to express creativity. He didn't know he was a monster because he didn't know the toys were sentient. After he learned the truth, eventually he decided to continue what he was doing before, but doing it right. He started working with the sanitation department so he would have unlimited access to discarded toys. He could recover the salvageable toys, and use his skills to restore broken toys. I bet every once in awhile he says to his room full of toys something like "I know you have to pretend you can't hear me, and that's okay, but just know that I know, and that I care about you".
The toys not blinking at the same time was actually because of how limited CG animation was back then. The technology was so primitive that they couldn't sync a blink.

If you enjoyed this movie, you should seek out its progenitor, The Brave Little Toaster. There's also a Christmas special by the Jim Henson group called The Christmas Toy (1986) with a strikingly similar plotline.
Hey Blue, my first expereince watching this movie I was sitting playing with my friend's kids at Thanksgiving dinner and they had this playing in the background to keep the kid occupied. After 1 hours everyone went in for dinner and I told them to start without me as I was crying my eyes out. That day I turned 7 again. Hoping my toys would come alive.
The first Toy Story is a great movie even if the animation is not the best. Fact: Maybe this is a spoiler but Sid and the Andy’s little sister are the only two people in all the Toy Story movies who watch the toys moving and speaking.
Toy Story is great. That being said you should definitely continue watching this movie series on your channel, Trixy Blue! Toy Story 2 & Toy Story 3 are cinematic masterpieces! I am dead serious about that. You will not regret watching them. Would love to see you react to them. Go for it!

You Toy Imagination is on another level for sure. You must, must, must watch all the other TOY STORY movies. They get better as the franchise goes on. It's amazing how they blow my mind everytime with the emotion and tenderness of the Toy Story world. HAve fun.
Please, try and think about what happened from the other toys' perspective; they had every reason to believe Woody was trying to knock Buzz out the window (and he _was_ genuinely being a jerk trying to knock Buzz down the back of the desk like that), and later seeing him trying to pretend Buzz was talking to them using Buzz's disembodied arm made him look like a total psychopath.
Being a grown man, I don't go out of my way to watch Disney Pixar stuff or any other kids films, but the ones I've seen with my nieces & nephews have actually been really good... Moana, Coco, & Encanto where all really well done.
Agreed, I don’t care for kids films usually. However I did like Jingle All the Way with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mouse Hunt with Nathan Lane. Those kids movies are actually very entertaining
heres a fun fact. when you watch closely at what Andys friends faces if ya zoom in, youll see that the studio saved money by just having all the party guests be Andys character model and his face but in different clothes lol
The word "franchise" works a little strangely in cases like this. If there are more than three films in a series, calling them a "series" of movies is sufficient. "Quadrology" or "tetralogy" is an accepted term for a series of four movies, but it's ungainly and not used very often. "Franchise" usually refers to a property that spawns multiple movie and/or TV series, and usually other media as well. So Toy Story also qualifies as a franchise because of side projects, spin-offs, etc, such as the Forky shorts and the recent Lightyear movie. The easiest property that can be used to explain the difference is Star Trek. "Star Trek" in general is a franchise, while Strange New Worlds is a series within that franchise. Also, I find it fascinating that the word "franchise" means almost the opposite when you're talking about retail and service chains, where a "franchise" is a singular outlet, operating under a larger parent company. A media "franchise" is the top level, a service "franchise" is the very bottom. Language is weird.

I still have memories of this movie, unforgettable it is the one I like the most of the 4 movies, but my favorite of all Disney Pixar is The Incredibles from 2004, that is a really cool movie!
So much humor that only adults would get. Not even "adult" aka sexual humor. But things like the fact that Mr. Potato Head is voiced by Don Rickles, a famous insult comic, who called people "Hockey Puck" as an insult, and in this saying it to an actual Hockey Puck. Kids wouldn't even know about that. But that's the thing this is a movie that was not made just for kids, but kids and adults. And honestly I think made MORE for adults to enjoy.
If you're in the mood for some great animated stuff, check out "The Iron Giant" and "Encanto." Also, "The Princess Bride." I am positive you'll love them all. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the Toy Story series with you, it's been ages since I've seen those.
After you watch Toy Story 2, you should definitely add Lightyear to the Cozy Friday list as well! (Also, eventually, how about The Last Unicorn -- from back in 1982?)
Re collective nouns for multiple movies, you could always go down the route of the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy books, where book 5 was described on the cover as "the fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy".... 😂
Buzz and Woody are one of the best movie duos. This movie is near perfection.
Andy's mom has two toys named "Woody" and "Buzz" too.

I wish reactors would react to Short Circuit 1 & 2.. these moves are awesome but nothing on reactions.
Toy story is a solid franchise. Definitely give the second one a shot
If you're in the mood for some great animated stuff, check out "The Iron Giant" and "Encanto." Also, "The Princess Bride." I am positive you'll love them all. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the Toy Story series with you, it's been ages since I've seen those.
I think a story with more than 3 parts( books, movies, plays ECT)is commonly referred to as a saga
After you watch Toy Story 2, you should definitely add Lightyear to the Cozy Friday list as well!
(Also, eventually, how about The Last Unicorn -- from back in 1982?)
Should check out Who Framed Roger Rabbit
I vote older stuff like: The Apple Dumpling Gang, Orignal Herbie films (the Love Bug) and Davy Crocket films :)
Re collective nouns for multiple movies, you could always go down the route of the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy books, where book 5 was described on the cover as "the fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy".... 😂
