There are “Chalk Markers” available that you can use to sketch out your design on the glass before applying the permanent color. I’m an old sign painter and use these chalk markers to layout my windows. 👍
Hey, dont know if you remember me but I had reached out to you back in September/September October. I wanted to know did you ever try the oven bake trick with the wine glasses? Also when you design your wine glasses what do you use to seal the design so that it cannot wash off?
Hi there... I’ve read that you either place in a cold oven and turn it on bake at 350 for 20 minutes OR if you let them sit for 30 days before using, its the equivalent. So either “bake” to cure or a “cold” cure. I was afraid to put them in the oven, but people do it all of the time apparently.
Oh ok thank you so much for the information I will look more into the oven method, I’m doing an order of 50 wine glasses for a month from now and that would seem faster in case I need to do the cold method
Nope it will eventually come off. If you have to do these I would they’ll your client not to put them in the dishwasher. You CAN make them last longer by placing them in the oven after lettering. It’s supposed to “cure” the ink making it more resistant to wear and tear. I’ve also heard that if you let the glasses sit for 30 days before handling, that’s equivalent to a more “natural” cure.
Having said all that though I maintain DecoColor ink is superior to sharpie and if you do 2 coats it’ll last well beyond the event (but not forever)... hope this helps!!!
This is a DecoColor OIL BASED paint pen. You can get it from Amazon or an art supply store. Try Dick Blicks if you have one. Hobby Lobby is also a friendly brick and mortar you can walk into and find these pens individually. Sharpies work too, I just prefer DecoColor. Good luck!
@@CalligraphybyCT you ever thought to make one of those talking cd's (not being smart/funny) you have the comforting voice for that I think its called relaxing cd's
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!
I wish I could handwrite freehand! Very pretty...

Jim B ...And I love old sign painters thanks. Just got my first mahl stick in the mail!
Excellent calligraphy!!!!
Awesome thank you. :)
You gotta preheat oven 350 , heat for 30min , turn off put glass in for 6 hrs do not open the door or they will break
W!!! Thanks for sharing!

That’s why you bake them so it doesn’t wash off
@@sassylynnfinch9089 I did that
Amazing work babe
Looks great!! 😊
Do I have to bake it after it's done?
Roxanne Mallari Yes the ink cures through baking but I was afraid they would break. Equivalent is to let them sit for a few weeks.
How would you seal these on permanently without the cold water for 30 days?

@@henrie.c Baking in the oven it definitely a great option. I bake mine all the time even wine bottles.
@@ivyythax thank you i cant wait to see how mine come out I will keep you all posted
Ivy Thaxton hi there!
Since you’ve done yours so should I have to spray anything on art to seal the surface before bake?
Great video. I gave it a go but I think I need to use different pens - the posca ones are quite hard to see! @
Oh yes Posca are great for chalkboards but you DEFINITELY want oil based and not water based pens. Use DecoColor or Sharpie!
CT-Designs Videos thank you so much!!! I’ve learnt my lesson lol xx
@@ct-designsvideos729 Sharpie oil-based markers? Or permanent markers?
@@bunnyval7724 Oil based paint pen but decocolor, not sharpie... Decocolors are "juicier" to me for lack of a better term...
Calligraphy by CT thank you so much!! Did you purchase them on Amazon?
Will it wash off?
Eventually I believe it will...
Perfeito!!!
How does it not wash off
Oh it will wash off eventually but you give the ink a better chance if you cure it in the oven. I didn't have the nerve!
Is this pen permanent? Waterproof and fadeproof?

@@CalligraphybyCT thank you for your reply.
Do you know if there are any permanent pens/markers to use on glass? That will stat on permametly?
Is this pen a permanent marker ?
This is NOT permanent. If you add enough layers of this pen, bake it in the oven to cure and wash it by hand it should last a good little while!
Where can I find this font? Love it with that tip.
Oh this one is “Bombshell Pro”

I'd get two just in case the first one acts up, they can be temperamental!
@@CalligraphybyCT I am so worried! Lol
One more question, where did you get your glasses
Talking too much
LOL

Well how else you gonna learn. It is better to talk to much and get the right info instead of less talking and not knowing.
