Please stop streaming this game... you don't interact with viewers during gameplay enough for it to make much of a difference, and streaming makes you feel like you need to rush... you missed out on so much that it made you frustrated at parts that were ridiculously easy. It's not fun for the viewer to watch you be stuck on an easy part and complain, and it's not fun for you as the player. So please, take your time.
The puzzles involving the Demon Slave mechanic is meant to give you a way to practice the controls and abilities of the summons. In the case of Malphas, pressing the jump button allows Malphas to ascend and fly. The puzzles aren't unpolished; you were just making them harder for yourself by rushing in and not paying attention to the controls. Remember that you can double-check them at any time in the menu. 🐍
@@jaguar4120 he's streaming 3 and it seems that hurts his enjoyment of the game because he probably feels like he has to make progress to keep the live viewers entertained (which is horseshit)
@@dom604 no viewer would be entertained by someone failing at basic puzzles and not trying the most common button to gain height (in all games which allow you to jump) which is the jump (B)
Keep in mind that your audience love your reactions and gameplay because of how natural you are. You don't have to rush, you can take your time to read an learn. Your commentary keeps things fresh even when you are reading tutorials and learning the game.
@@KuronekoSleep Nah, I'm fairly certain that's just addled "must create content" brain on display. He's let it show through quite a bit until this point and I only really watched his Bayo stuff. Constantly talking about having to make content and having to make it interesting and cutting out stuff because it wouldn't make for good content etc. "I can't go exploring, because I gotta make content" is a shit mindset. Exploring and PLAYING the game is the content. Going "oh wow, Bayonetta is a princess in this!!!???" 2 seconds after the cutscene calls Bayo a princess isn't really "content", either. I'd rather see him explore, learn the combat and improve, than just watch some fight clips with cutscenes inbetween.
Goodness. You're playing so fast rushing things you're not reading the tutorials or taking time to experiment the move sets. These puzzles are AMAZING. It's taking you away because it's meant to break up the action, but when you know what to do they're actually FUN and FAST. It's not bad game design, it's poor player choice in failing to do the bare minimum in paying attention and learning mechanics. This, admittedly, is because you're streaming.
You are so right! He goes "my attachment to the story isn't as strong as it was with 1 & 2" well buddy, you haven't even payed attention to any of the tutorials, instructions, books, items, and more. Like it's really embarrassing because his rant in the end is literally only him, no one else thinks that because he rushed through the game and is trash at is, cause no one else is.
@@melonlime4687 I feel like he doesn't take his time because he has to work. I know that in one lets play of B2 he had to rush the game because he said that he has to go to work so idk if he's doing the same thing for B3 but yeah it's bad. Bayonetta isn't a rush game you slowly take your time with it
Yea I gotta admit, skipping all the bonus challenges in Bayo 1/2 is hurting him, because he never even learned how to fully play those games and figure out the intricacies of the system, so now it does feel overwhelming to him because he doesn’t even have the base part mastered, let alone stacking all these new elements on top. Also, just because he didn’t explore the areas in the first doesn’t mean those game design choices weren’t there, he just choose to ignore them. Which is fine, play how you want, I just feel like having to stream this is taking away from the enjoyment. These chapters are meant to be replayed dozens of times, maybe once the way he is for story, but then repetition to get money to get better items, increase stats, learn the ends and outs, etc. and I agree, the streams he has to rush are the worst. Nothing kills me more than him rushing the mid point of Twilight Princess after beating the water temple and Zelda sacrificing herself to save midna. I don’t even think he could remember that scene because he was ready to hop off before it even started.
It's heartbreaking to see rush Bayonetta i love the new elements, puzzles and open areas so much better than 1&2. I searched every mm of the map, learned the moves, buy everything on Rodins shop, repeat chapters because farming, unlocked all hidden chapters, moves and weapons. It takes 35 hours for all and now i will start a new game on the new hardest difficult after finishing God of War Ragnarök, Devil in Me and Pokemon Violet.
Dee at 26:00 : reads how to go up with malphas Also dee, later at 30:02 : how do i go up tho, this feels so awkward They're polished, you simply missed everything ☠️
He asked if this part was awkward for anyone else. Watching this now, it is very awkward, especially since he can pause and double-check the controls (which he did indeed read) _at any time._
@@Getsugaru Im now watching the final boss fight part and he somehow managed to scuff it even harder... ITS NOT AWKWARD, YOU JUST NEED THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF INTUITION
Wouldn't be a Deebee playthrough if he didn't fail spectacularly to pay attention to anything important then blame the game for him being an idiot. I popped in to see if he'd changed at all, but apparently not.
The Wink slave does a lot of damage and it’s starting to annoy me he doesn’t use it. It’s a really good mechanic to have as it gives you more variety in combos
Viola has more skills herself in her base tree, because she doesn't have more weapons or summons. So they made up for that, by adding more skills to her only skill tree. On the other hand, Bayonetta's base skill tree is pretty much the equivalent to the techniques you purchased from Rodin before, which aren't many. But she has a skill tree for each weapon/summon she has.
Baal's poison rain is one of the best demon attacks, especially against bosses, and since you dont have to trigger it 4x consecutively, you can use just one during witch time for 4x. That way she doesnt get hit by the enemies.
Thematically, the puzzles in this part of the game are due to you basically infiltrating ancient sacred tombs and treasuries, so there are all kinds of traps and puzzles to get in your way. I'm honestly impressed you got through after forgetting how to make Malphas fly up (I say forgetting because you did read the instruction on how to do so, but I can see how it slipped your mind later).
For the enemies on the wall, if you unlocked the skill for the weapon, you can double tap R to home into the enemies to attack them. Also, Bayonetta can run on walls when there is a visible full moon or with moonlight to be more specific.
Honestly, I like the more exploration they put in the game. To me, it’s a nice change of pace to the high octane combat. I like being Able to go to every corner of the map wether it be for gallery items (aka the boxes, card packs, and records that are use to see in the gallery) a secret achievement, tears or just an easter eggs. Heck I will go as far to say it’s better than the constant backtracking in bayo 1+2 just to complete every freaking verse in order, here it doesn’t feel like that at all despite being optional
YEAH! it reward curiosity! Like in the viola's part when you can see a all but you couldnt go with chechire, so you go in it when viola is woke up. And its so cool that they did that
32:10 I just pressed the B button, because it's the button that's used to preform the action that makes your character ascend since the beginning of the game.
For the egyptian segment it has a lot of puzzles bc your trying to get to the treasure room thats why theres a few more puzzles there and they are not that complicated
Note: many of the homonculi names are given after irl Cloud names. Cirrostratus and Cirrocumulus are tipically big rainclouds, with one being more associated with thunderstorms than the other. Stratus, Stratocumulus, and others have those origins too.

12:30 - DeeBee forgets Rule 1 of adventure dungeon design: Always follow a new tool with a puzzle that uses it. 30:00 - DeeBee forgets an instruction he read 5 minutes ago. I'm getting GameGrumps flashbacks.
The puzzles are fine if you just read the tips the game tells you about when you encounter them. I actually thought this whole arc was one of the best parts of the game with how they have you use Malphas and Baal.
The Puzzles in Bayo 3 serves as a kind of tutorial for the mechanics of new summons you just got. You learn how you can use certain techniques and what you can do with it. It's great.
The parts you were having trouble with were merely due to not having paid attention. There was no problems with the puzzles. But, eh, it happens.*shrug* It's possible to have the bird fly higher. Forgot which button it was, but it did say what it was when you got it.
I think the real problem is that you’ve only just played B1 and B2. They’re still fresh in your brain so a slight detour is messing with your recent muscle memory and expectations. I played the first two games when they came out so B3 I just see as the next step of a longer journey. Edit - You also didn’t watch trailers or anything until right before. People who watched already had their expectations in check. You’re like an elite boxer who trained for a very specific fight right before it took place. Now the fight is slightly different so it’s messing with your fighting style. Those that didn’t train for a specific fight right before, and built themselves up and set their expectations differently with the B3 footage were prepared for what we got. Just one of those things. I’ve had it playing sequels close together in the past as well.
na bayo 3 has huge pacing issues. because hes played 1-2 recently he can see the issues with 3 a lot easier. bayo 3 is still good but its far from the highs of 1 and 2.
@@ronuss All the Bayo games had their own set of issues, you really can't blame the game for that. And the pacing is kinda here and there but at the same time, I do think it's cause he's running through all the games and kinda burning himself out a bit on 3 then compared to 1 and 2.
@@poppytart I will say this again, ALL THE BAYONETTA GAMES HAVE THEIR OWN SET OF ISSUES. And also, have you not been or seen Japan? Tokyo JP Bayo is a good representation of the fun part of JP. Everyone is HAS THE RIGHT to their own opinion. But don't go disrespecting something YOU yourself did not put any work in. If YOU honestly have that much of a HUGE negative look about the game, then don't play. Don't watch anything about it, don't think about it. Nobody is forcing people to play this game. EVERYONE is playing of their OWN FREE WILL. If you don't like the combat, don't play, if you wanted a more serious game, than make it your self, if you want it to be less chaotic and busy, make it yourself. Projecting your issues with the game cause YOU didn't like and how it came out after years in the making, is YOUR OPINION. Not everyone is gonna think on a hiveminded comment like that. Some people ACTUALLY DO ENJOY the game and ALL that I has to offer. We KNOW that the story/plot has some holes in it, but the gameplay for the most part and the visual aspects make up for it. What you just stated was pretty shallow stuff.
Highly disagree. These 2 chapters were my favorite. Love the optional!! exploration. The puzzles, which have instructions on screen, are tutorials for how to use the demons during battle. The skill tree expands the battle system for weapons and demons, giving u different moves for enemies out of reach
@@ryanjohnson781 FYI, if tutorials are cut it's usually because there's something wrong with that portion of the video. Like a visual glitch, which happens often. It doesn't mean that he didn't read the full tutorials. I have the original video files, I know what he's has and has not read.
10:39 Deebeegeek: "while summoning Baal, press R to sing Deebeegeek 10 seconds later: "how do I sing?" This resumes perfectly that he didn't pay attention to the tutorials (Not to be mean of course, I will admit I do sometimes forget that R does anything with demons)
To be fair, depending on one's mind set, you could stick to the fast paced side of the gameplay by focusing on the story and leave the exploration for later. That is how I typically approach most games like this. As such I felt it was another fine Bayonetta and hope you can find a balance to help yourself enjoy this too.
@@Xenowolf8 very true the puzzles in previous games especially when you had to do keys or spinning, where extremely time consuming at times. These puzzles were almost all quick. The one where he had to use frog, I can understand why he tried to use train since that was literally what he learned in previous chapters. The one thing this game shouldn't have done was make tutorials optional to open they also make them come up right during combat a lot.
Bayo3 is my favorite action game ever made. The flawless combat with integtated sunmons, expanded exploration, rewarding secrets, variety of gameplay and interesting cutscenes just puts it on another plane of existence.
Agree with you this part is a great evolution of the previous parts with a lot of combats arsenals and varieties 🫶🏼♥️ still my most favorite action game
Totally agree... the combat system is so full of things you can do that looking him doing only PPPPP combos with even no wink slave finisher it's just painful.....
14:19 atleast here you acknowledge that you didn't pay attention 15:59 She can only do it if she is covered in moonlight, not indoors obviously. This was the case in all the games (You could've used any demon attacks for those guys on the wall) 30:02 The game told you how to go up.. and even if you forgot surely when you try to press the few buttons you control demons with you'd notice that he rises with B? Idk it feels like you just want to be mad about that kinda stuff. You never once pressed a different button than Y (the wind attack) in that room... 33:00 even here, you destroy those crystals with Bayo only (which is actually funny and cool that this works) but then call it "awkward" when clearly the game wants you to use your new acquired demon for that kinda stuff. It's been like that in the previous chapters aswell. 34:12 again... not even trying to press any button. Or looking in the controls/tutorials again if you missed something. It doesn't even come to your mind that you might've missed something. Just shit on the game... 35:15 to 35:59 To make the game feel longer? I'm sorry but none of these "puzzles" take more than 30 seconds if you just use your tools how the game teaches you. Regarding pacing, I personally like to go at my own pace and fuck around with all the mechanics, but I understand some people don't. Then again tho... if you just pressed the B button in most of those rooms you would be through in no time and go from fight to fight in basically the same pace as the other Bayo games. 38:03 well so was the one at 30:02 basically And to be clear, I'm not saying that you have to like all that stuff, people like different things and I get that this direction of Bayonetta doesn't work for everyone. Feel free to dislike it as much as you want. But to call it unpolished, awkward, bad, etc when it really isn't kinda annoys me. And I don't mean that in bad faith or anything, I still like your content, but i had to say that.
and btw, every puzzle means to teach you how to use your monster in the battle, singing flog, flying and catch enemy bird etc, so they r meaningful if u get it.
Actually these puzzles are in those two chapters bc of the Egyptian temple mystery and treasure theme. They're not supposed to take long. BTW Malphas can fly pressing jump button... The solution is almost always writen on the screen...
You had to use the B button to make the bird fly upwards. I think you have a point with some of your criticisms, but you also need to pay more attention to the controls/instructions. That's why you're getting stuck
@@DeeBeeGeek That's all well and good, but you *immediately* resort to blaming the game because you got "distracted" and forgot what it told you literally two seconds ago, or even has displayed right there on screen. It's one thing if you get confused, but instantly blaming the game because you failed to pay attention just makes you look whiny. Like, my dude, you didn't even attempt to hit other buttons but somehow that's the game's fault that you couldn't figure out "Use the jump button to fly up with the bird"?
Guys he's not perfect. Chill out. It's his first time playing. Getting mad like that because he made that mistake doesn't make sense. Correcting him is one thing, but chastising for a mistake that any person can make especially if a person is let's playing and is just focusing on finishing the game for the channel, doesn't make any sense. I'm sure he got it from that first comment. But that whining after he gave you that reason is unnecessary. Be done with it and understand that he got the message here. Can't wait for next week Deebee I've almost 100% the game, just gotta finish the rodin fight which is tough this time around, but it is fun seeing other people's experience with this game, regardless of it's uh...interesting story telling? Gameplay is great overall though. Anyway I digress, we shall see how you feel when you finish.
For those who wanna know the music track playing during the battle with Jennae that is Red and Black (3rd climax). Yes Red and Black from Bayo 1 got a remix with an Egyptian feel. It's an amazing remix I never expected to hear. Also Bayonetta skills are locked behind her weapons. The more you skill up the weapon the more abilities she will be able to use. That's why viola has more cause she is locked to one weapon why Bayo isn't.
I was trying not to laugh...those puzzle sections with the bird were not that difficult, you just had to jump to make Malphas rise. Can't imagine it's easy to play a game like this whilst streaming! Good show as always, the fighting in this always makes me think of Soul Calibur on wheels.
na bayo vet here, i had the same issues, i had no idea i had to press jump to go higher. im a fucking bird why do i fall down ? lol that part was dumb.
@@ronuss What I've been doing is having a lil play around with the new summons before venturing ahead, I was doing the same with the weapons. I've just been taking my time with the game getting the feel back as it's been years since I last played Bayo 2. It reminded me of when he played Wind Waker and he was getting really frustrated in one section where the answer was staring him in the face.
@@ronuss That's on you. The game TELLS YOU HOW TO RISE when you unlock Malphas; you can literally see DBGeek read it too at 26:04 and still forget about it. That's not the game's fault.
i think most of the stuff you are frustrated with, and with your major complaints about the pace of the game being a bit all over the place, is a lot of the optional stuff of the game. sure they added an exploration aspect to it, but its almost entirely up to you whether or not you wanna do it during or after the story, not to mention you have some insane tunnel vision and miss entire segments of the game that involve super cool battles, or skills available to you, or hell even the base mechanics of the game that are literally front and center of your screen that you completely ignore sometimes, i dont get it xD
You also aren't using wink slave that much, which is a major part of the combat. The combat in this game is arguably the best in the series, and you aren't really using the mechanics.
Against the ennemies on the wall you have the option to : - Shoot them (be it just pressing Y or using bullet climax) - Use the double R dash which is the Umbran Spear from the two previous games, and which is also present on absolutely all weapons, you just have to unlock it (except for Colour my World where this specific technique is unlocked from the beginning) - Use a technique to reach them from far away or knock them off like tetzusanko or a lot of other weapon-specific ability. - Walk on the wall with the spider to get to their level, Bayonetta's natural floatiness when fighting in the air will keep her at that level and these specific ennemies have very little health, less than an entire combo kills them. - Summon any demon, but the most obvious one would be the spider cause it can litteraly walk on walls. As for the puzzles/exploration matters. I loved both in this game, and personaly it didn't take anything from it. There were combat area often enough, the optionnal puzzles could take some time but that's exactly why they're optionnal, if you don't feel like it you can just skip them. The Mandatory puzzles are all extremely easy and teach you how to control your demon. They're satisfying and well thought out. In this specific couple of levels, you got one teaching you how Baal's rain works, one showing you how Malfas can blow wind to send ennemies flying (or in this specific case, to get a few windmills going), and finally the last one teaches you that Malfas can grab objects and throw them, and you know what ? Malfas can do it during combat on ennemies, because those puzzles litteraly all teach you mechanics that are useful in combat, the main goal of a Bayonetta game. You also got the challenges which you (understandably I guess) skip over but whom mainly share the same goal, especially in normal difficulty. In Infinite Climax almost all the challenges are changed and become just as hard and wicked as the ones in 1 and 2, but when playing on the 3 base difficulties maybe one third of them are tutorial levels to get you to master your weapons or demons a little more. Forcing you to be more creative with the way you fight or the weapons you use.
I just tried different buttons to be able to let the bird fly up. It was not thaaat hard :D. I mean, that's what we usually always do when we don't know what to do, right? Trying out different buttons
Day 4: Check your accessories and get all of the umbra tears from Chapter 1 ,3, 13, and 14 also 11:50 its because viola has 1 weapon, bayo's upgrades are in the different weapons. Yes some of the puzzles suck but usually reading wat the screen has helps (to go up with Malphas was B)
I'm sure plenty of people in here have told you how to make the bird fly up already, so my suggestion is to spend some time off screen in the training room. It's good to learn everything you can do with each demon and see what their upgrades do to affect their moveset. In the upgrade screen the abilities are "locked" because you can't unequip them. They're permanent parts of your moveset, they're just there in your upgrade screen to tell you they exist. Get some practice with your new weapons, but I'm sure you'll still favor your spider yoyos (they're my fav too lol). Also collect all the animals in chapter 3. You'll get a really nice weapon and new demon to summon :3
“Yeah this is my least favorite part of the game” 31:50 you’re making your experience more difficult..instead jumping with spider, you could walk around and get to the door lolz..just take your time..I know I was kinda stuck with the frog whee u needed to make him rain to solve to puzzle but after that I got better..don’t get desperate and take your time…when using the bird..press B to make it fly higher.
I actually like how much Bayo 3 got me exploring and wanting to find everything and how most of the stuff I'm looking for doesn't involve me back tracking after a certain point to get battles I miss in my first 5 runs through a level. And the puzzles aren't really that bad, really simple, especially when you remember the jump button exists.
I discovered bayonetta in 2015 and i fell in love with the character. All 3 games are amazing and i enjoyed every part of it. The characters, the gameplay and the design of the demos and scenery its just overwhelming. Bayonetta has a unic empowered personality and you literally fall in love with her. This game is such a reason to know what this game is and the work and love they putted in it, the new gameplay and the new history plot are amazingly well done.
The music that plays during Jeanne and Baal's fight is an Egyptian remix of Red and Black. I get what you mean about all the new stuff, I imagine the devs just wanted there to be a variety to further sell the multiverse vibe that there's multiple Bayonettas living their own stories and the player is there in that story as a background character, even though the player is on a larger scale adventure.
You keep saying that this game has puzzles and you dont like it but this are the easiest puzzles i ever seen once you know how to control you summon. Also in the flying puzzle i kept screaming to the screen to press the jump button to go up. It was hard to watch
I said it before and I'll say it again I love Bayonetta 3 is cuz the Demon Slave combat mechanic is a good high risk high reward addition to the combat formula as it does eat up the magic a bit but they can help with enemies groups especially large enemies. But it also has a neat trick that if you use em to be damage sponges the demon goes berserk and can attack the player... Essentially it's a good catch on if you try and abuse it. That and they have a cool down if they happen to die in battle. Also I like the Buddhist/Jade Emperor theme the Homunculi have.
I love the uploads, but a lot of the complaints you have are definitely personal ones. Rising with Malphas is told by the tutorial, and simply pressing Jump makes it rise. Every demon rises into the air with Jump. When you were asking about why you couldn't walk on walls to fight the enemies, you easily could have locked on and jumped and started attacking. Alternatively, just use the dash move to hastily reach the enemy. When you tried using the train to hit all the pods, the hint for using Baal was at the side of the screen, as well as the fact that you were just given the new demon right before it.
I had trouble with that part at first as well. But a good tip is try all of the buttons. Once you know the secret to the puzzel, you can just breeze through it really quickly
Well I respect your opinion about the game, I definitely feel like Bayonetta 3 is better than the first two games as it adds more lore to the whole story of Bayonetta while also implementing new game mechanics to make the game more entertaining and also gives the player more ways to improve their combat style
what lore exactly? they don't explain sh*t they just add a bunch of nonsense and you have to accept it and move on. not to mention they completely forget about lumen sages in this game.
12:00 Watching him just blindly dump upgrades on weapons he doesn't even use and not bothering to read how to perform the attacks he was buying was painful. He didn't even upgrade the Yo-Yo 💀
The enemies on the wall could be done by jumping up to them, or using an attack that gets you upwards, like After Burner Kick or Witch Strike (attacking immediately after jumping). And the change of pace thing is definitely true of Chapters 8 and 9, but the broader game also. It's the desert level, so for some reason every game developer feels the need to make it the really dumb puzzle level which is slower paced and way longer for some reason. I have found that replaying the game on later difficulties after finishing with my exploring that all that action comes back when I just speed through the levels, but I can definitely see that for the people who play these games like that normally, putting so many important items and power-ups so far off the main path can negatively impact their experience with the game.
I love you Dee, but this was hella painful to watch lol. As a game designer in training, I've been studying about user experience and level design. That's why there are hints on the screen, or prompts to read a tutorial, which you're completely ignoring. Take your time, man. We'll love you even if you take a minute or two to read up on a tutorial. Also, get both Scarborough Fair and Love is Blue for a small dose of nostalgia. I feel like you're rushing through for the story, which is okay but when you find a puzzle it makes you feel like you're wasting your time. I think you should see it as Breath of the Wild, where you explored to your heart's content and experimented with the game's mechanics. Love you tons, mad lad.
I like Bayonetta 3 as it evolves and changes the combat to such a point that what we saw as only cut scenes or background set pieces in Bayo 2 become implemented in actual gameplay that we can fully control. At any point we want.
Why do let's players never read the text on the screen that explains what to do and then get annoyed that they can't figure things out, the game literally tells u what to do.. come on man
I guess from my point of view, it is okay to feel the way you do. When I first started Bayonetta 2, years after finishing 1, it gave me this strange foreign feeling of disassociation. I remember thinking; "How is this related to the story of the first game?" And I had to finish the game multiple times and read the whole things the game throw you at to be able to get a grasp of what was going on. I am unsure if other's feel the same way I did, and I would really love to read everyone's comment on this specific aspect. And when I started Bayonetta 3, the feeling was stronger than the last one. I felt bombarded with so many new things, I was not able to concentrate. Now that I have finished the game, (which is the main reasons I am keeping up with your videos, specifically to see your reaction) I still am having this weird feeling of playing an entirely different game. I am now working to complete hard mode (I think that is what is called) and I am trying to get all the bonus stuff, so I am assuming it will take some time to finally... accept or understand, I guess, that this is the route Bayonetta games are going to take from now on. I apologize for the long paragraph, but I just wanted to let you know, yes, it is okay to feel that way, and while I agree you could try mashing all the buttons to see what happens (specially in the Malphas puzzle part) I also would like for you to play on your own pace, and enjoy it the way you like. Doesn't matter if it takes some time for you to make a new video, as long as you don't feel force to do it just because we push you. Thank you again for another amazing video, and know that we all appreciate you taking the time to play this game which, while not perfect, I am growing to adore as much as the other two.
I love Bayonetta 3 because it's just so much to have fun with. These chapters are longer than ever. Maybe not always action packed like the puzzles, but I can appreciate the diversity these levels
Cereza of bayonetta 3 seems extremely nerfed to the point she doesn’t even throw punches to try save any of her alternate selves like she did for jaune for bayo 2. I just miss how most enemies were personified from the past two games, now it becomes somewhat bland/stale and plot devices are forced in the story to obtain new weapons. Singularity so far doesn’t seem to show any sort of interesting role to the story other than wanting to absorb all worlds and be self important. Bosses have now in this story become a chore to beat up, have an amazing kaiju summon and eventually get a chaos gear, whereas in previous games you feel satisfaction in being able to break an enemy down. The detail in destroying their outer layer to see a contrast of what they looked inside made it extremely satisfying in a sadistic way whereas compared to some blue jellybean just wobbling with golden cracks. The sadistic personality and humor of the previous two games for me personally was the game’s selling point. Maps unfortunately no longer has it’s charm with the amount of detail and architecture it previously had, which made the world feel alive. The scale of buildings tend to now look minuscule since we tend to use our summons instead of our character.
needs to pay more attention to demons in bayonetta 3, it's a huge feature to this game. actually you can give instructions to demons and keep up combos with bayonetta herself, no necessary to dancing all the time
I will say almost every time the game throws a challenge that appears awkward, it gave the commands or an example use case or a training room, so-to-speak on how to use things prior, or is telling you specifically on the side of the screen what type of moves are suited for the situation. i.e. back fighting Asperatus it was giving you a hint to use Phantasmaraneae's [R move] web to slow it down, also later multiple times hinting at its immunity to fire damage for any time you need to move past or on lava (including the Masquerade, both recommended for the fight against Pyrocumulus when she mentioned "a friend that likes it hot"). Or forcing the triple jump test to ensure that you at least saw the ability in use and utilized it to move on. Or any opponent that slows down or retreats for a long enough period of time is a suggestion to use Baal's song, or during the fights with the enemies on the walls, it was giving a reminder to use Baal for the higher reach (altho ones like Madama also qualify); and that demons like Malphas use the B button to gain height again. These things are also tested in the Niflheim challenges. Also the game points out earlier that the entrances to Inferno and Paradisio are effectively blocked during this crisis and that in some small areas Infernals, but mostly Angels are finding points to break through.
One thing I love about Bayonetta 3 that I didn’t expect to love nearly as much as I do now is the soundtrack. All of the Bayonetta games have amazing music, but Bayonetta 3 has by far the best Platinum Games has to offer. I think it’s even debatably better then XC3’s soundtrack, and should’ve been nominated as such at the game awards.
ok, that was insane difficult to watch, i mean, ever remember to jump while doing puzzles? oh gosh, that was bad and weird, you seriously got some brain fart...
Apparently the B button is important.
hahahaha I was thinking you'll kick yourself over that!
Hahahahaha, I was about to comment “In this episode Dee forgets the B button.”
I promise I won't think less of you.
No offense but I'm more confused how you were confused at the puzzles.
The skills menu for the demons gives me more practice than the puzzles ever did LMAO
Watching him playing this bayo is hurting me haha, he’s not even reading tips, details etc… he just got lazy
It seems like he never pays close attention to anything in the game. 🙄🤔😓
Exactly
i think deebee played bayo 1 and 2 in a bit of a rush to be able to play this game on release.
Now he just have the mindset of rushing it.
Thank you
You are so right!
Dee at 26:00 : reads how to go up with malphas
Also dee, later at 30:02 : how do i go up tho, this feels so awkward
They're polished, you simply missed everything ☠️
He asked if this part was awkward for anyone else. Watching this now, it is very awkward, especially since he can pause and double-check the controls (which he did indeed read) _at any time._
Literally just jump bruv it's not that hard lol
@@Getsugaru Im now watching the final boss fight part and he somehow managed to scuff it even harder...
ITS NOT AWKWARD, YOU JUST NEED THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF INTUITION
Wouldn't be a Deebee playthrough if he didn't fail spectacularly to pay attention to anything important then blame the game for him being an idiot. I popped in to see if he'd changed at all, but apparently not.

Chapter 9: "Learning to Fly"
Malphas: foggetaboutit, I'm taking the stairs
Every time I see the wink slave flash and then it just not getting used makes me die a little inside-
bro me too, i even scream on my head PLEASE USE THE COMBO FINISHER
I did leave a note on that in last playthough, but I guess he didn't see it😂
Saaaaame! I know some people challenged themselves not to use wink slave but I don’t think Dee knows he can even do it in the first place
The Wink slave does a lot of damage and it’s starting to annoy me he doesn’t use it. It’s a really good mechanic to have as it gives you more variety in combos
Took me 42 hours to actually start using assault slave
Viola has more skills herself in her base tree, because she doesn't have more weapons or summons. So they made up for that, by adding more skills to her only skill tree.
On the other hand, Bayonetta's base skill tree is pretty much the equivalent to the techniques you purchased from Rodin before, which aren't many. But she has a skill tree for each weapon/summon she has.
Great job explaining those things :)
Wasn’t Bayonetta only able to walk on walls in the moonlight? That could explain why.
He also didn't use the lock on to make Bayo aim directly toward the enemy rather than directly in front of her
Yeah, she can only walk on walls under certain conditions.
Deebee never reading the on-screen text and not knowing that he has to press B to make a flying summon rise... ;D
if only there was a button that is commonly used to make your character reach higher places.... /s
a who in kidding, is the puzzles fault XD
Worse than that, he read it.
He really just walked a circle around the Grace and Glory fight at the beginning and didn't trigger it 😞
Yep… he misses so much stuff on his let’s plays its wild lol. Painful
The fact that he's calling himself a DMC player while not having any references to DMC in his 3 letsplay of the franchise lol
Baal's poison rain is one of the best demon attacks, especially against bosses, and since you dont have to trigger it 4x consecutively, you can use just one during witch time for 4x. That way she doesnt get hit by the enemies.
I like exploding the phantom and then immediately follow up with the 4x Baal until the phantom is ready again. Really melts everything around.
Also, Bayonetta can run on walls when there is a visible full moon or with moonlight to be more specific.
he could literally have summoned the spider in that segment ffs
@@endless2239 could have summoned literally any demon, game even advises him to use Baal but still any demon would work
Honestly, I like the more exploration they put in the game.
Yessss pretty much exactly how I feel. I love how it also has an in game jukebox as well.
YEAH! it reward curiosity! Like in the viola's part when you can see a all but you couldnt go with chechire, so you go in it when viola is woke up. And its so cool that they did that
32:10 I just pressed the B button, because it's the button that's used to preform the action that makes your character ascend since the beginning of the game.
The jump button has been the fly button since at least Super Mario World on the SNES. For like 30 years.
For the egyptian segment it has a lot of puzzles bc your trying to get to the treasure room thats why theres a few more puzzles there and they are not that complicated
You aren't paying attention to tutorials, which is causing you to mess up the puzzles.
Note: many of the homonculi names are given after irl Cloud names. Cirrostratus and Cirrocumulus are tipically big rainclouds, with one being more associated with thunderstorms than the other. Stratus, Stratocumulus, and others have those origins too.
Every last one of them is named after a cloud or a cloud feature. Apart from things with like the word arch in front of them. And singularity.
@@thembill8246 I didnt know some of them and thought there were exceptions, apparently tuba mediocris and castellanus are indeed cloud names too, thx for letting me know hahaha.
Strongest Homunculus will probably be named Strife (Runs away before anyone gets it)
thats why you shouldn't skip tutorials in games kids
I don,t want to sound mean but most of these puzzles are a cakewalk of your just read the demon descriptions
12:30 - DeeBee forgets Rule 1 of adventure dungeon design: Always follow a new tool with a puzzle that uses it.
30:00 - DeeBee forgets an instruction he read 5 minutes ago. I'm getting GameGrumps flashbacks.
Specily when he has play all those zelda games . He shuld know that by now
The puzzles are fine if you just read the tips the game tells you about when you encounter them.
He did read it out aloud
@@esajaan he looks at the words and say them but don’t listen to them
I think the real problem is that you’ve only just played B1 and B2.
@@ronuss not really. You just don't like Bayo 3, and it is okay. But don't say it's the game's fault
@@ronuss All the Bayo games had their own set of issues, you really can't blame the game for that. And the pacing is kinda here and there but at the same time, I do think it's cause he's running through all the games and kinda burning himself out a bit on 3 then compared to 1 and 2.
@@poppytart But now it was your opinion, I thought the pink-haired Bayonetta was beautiful, it would be a modern witch who lives in Japan.

Bayonetta's skill tree is smaller since her moveset depends on her weapon. Viola only has the Mab Dachi, so they put it all in the same page.
My man you can press B to fly 💀💀
Since you completely skipped her tutorial, Viola’s other form is a Faerie.

Deebeegeek 10 seconds later: "how do I sing?"
This resumes perfectly that he didn't pay attention to the tutorials
(Not to be mean of course, I will admit I do sometimes forget that R does anything with demons)
To be fair, depending on one's mind set, you could stick to the fast paced side of the gameplay by focusing on the story and leave the exploration for later. That is how I typically approach most games like this. As such I felt it was another fine Bayonetta and hope you can find a balance to help yourself enjoy this too.
Yeah all of the "pace breaking" stuff is completely optional
True
I think the puzzles in this game are quick and painless compared to some of the stuff they made you do in Bayonetta 1.
@@Xenowolf8 this ist SO true
100% agree with you! I love this game..so hard to put the controller down..
14:19 atleast here you acknowledge that you didn't pay attention
15:59 She can only do it if she is covered in moonlight, not indoors obviously. This was the case in all the games (You could've used any demon attacks for those guys on the wall)
30:02 The game told you how to go up.. and even if you forgot surely when you try to press the few buttons you control demons with you'd notice that he rises with B?
38:03 well so was the one at 30:02 basically
And to be clear, I'm not saying that you have to like all that stuff, people like different things and I get that this direction of Bayonetta doesn't work for everyone.
Feel free to dislike it as much as you want. But to call it unpolished, awkward, bad, etc when it really isn't kinda annoys me.
And I don't mean that in bad faith or anything, I still like your content, but i had to say that.
He's still forgetting wink slave.
Deebeegeek: complains about the puzzles that are really simple
Me: if only he read the mechanics instead of whatever he did at the time
and btw, every puzzle means to teach you how to use your monster in the battle, singing flog, flying and catch enemy bird etc, so they r meaningful if u get it.
You literally said press B to go up while reading about the bird and then forgot about it five minutes later xD
The puzzles are here to teach you how to control the demons lol. You can grab enemies with Malphas for example.
That’s my bad but recording and commentary can distract me sometimes
@@DeeBeeGeek keep in mind you can review the tutorials whenever you want as well if it helps.
@@DeeBeeGeek That's all well and good, but you *immediately* resort to blaming the game because you got "distracted" and forgot what it told you literally two seconds ago, or even has displayed right there on screen.
I've almost 100% the game, just gotta finish the rodin fight which is tough this time around, but it is fun seeing other people's experience with this game, regardless of it's uh...interesting story telling?
@@endless2239 The DeeBee way!
i think most of the stuff you are frustrated with, and with your major complaints about the pace of the game being a bit all over the place, is a lot of the optional stuff of the game.
sure they added an exploration aspect to it, but its almost entirely up to you whether or not you wanna do it during or after the story, not to mention you have some insane tunnel vision and miss entire segments of the game that involve super cool battles, or skills available to you, or hell even the base mechanics of the game that are literally front and center of your screen that you completely ignore sometimes, i dont get it xD
You also aren't using wink slave that much, which is a major part of the combat. The combat in this game is arguably the best in the series, and you aren't really using the mechanics.
More like forgetting it exists
Why I love Bayonetta, it's just fun her strength and charm is on a whole nother level. Music is fantastic and it somehow gets better with every game.
The bird isn't new, it was in Bayonetta 1. Maybe you didn't recognize it because it was covered in hair back then.
Against the ennemies on the wall you have the option to :
- Shoot them (be it just pressing Y or using bullet climax)
- Use the double R dash which is the Umbran Spear from the two previous games, and which is also present on absolutely all weapons, you just have to unlock it (except for Colour my World where this specific technique is unlocked from the beginning)
- Use a technique to reach them from far away or knock them off like tetzusanko or a lot of other weapon-specific ability.
Forcing you to be more creative with the way you fight or the weapons you use.
its Egypt, so puzzles and random roadblocks makes perfect sense. Think the pyramids and traps and curses etc.
I love Bayonetta because she's the exact opposite of what they taugth me in catholic school
Oh how much I screamed "JUST PUSH THAT F@#& B AND FLY"
The Egypt level was one of my favorites and the fan and microphone weapons you just unlocked are my favorites so far.
I just tried different buttons to be able to let the bird fly up. It was not thaaat hard :D. I mean, that's what we usually always do when we don't know what to do, right? Trying out different buttons
I mean....Devil May cry has the exploring, alternate paths, puzzles system too?. DMC3 Especially has a lot of tower backtracking.
Day 4: Check your accessories and get all of the umbra tears from Chapter 1 ,3, 13, and 14
also 11:50 its because viola has 1 weapon, bayo's upgrades are in the different weapons.
You'll get a really nice weapon and new demon to summon :3
that Bird Demon showed up once in Bayo 1. nice to see it return
B moves Malphas' up.
The Egyptian remix of Red and Black during the Jeanne fight is nice.
It's crazy how at every new demon slave you get in contact through a level, you mysteriously get a puzzle related to said demon ability.... Strange 🧐🤔
along with a break from action as if you could take your time and familiarize with said demon moveset....
This! The game follows an incredibly easy pattern.

I love the fact that Luka gets back to be more related to the plot in Bayonetta 3.
+ watching your playthrough is always a good time
I had trouble with that part at first as well. But a good tip is try all of the buttons. Once you know the secret to the puzzel, you can just breeze through it really quickly
The fact these can even be considered puzzles is almost mind blowing to me. These are the equivalent to a child's shape sorting cube.
omg, you can press the jump button to make malphas lift 😿
Well I respect your opinion about the game, I definitely feel like Bayonetta 3 is better than the first two games as it adds more lore to the whole story of Bayonetta while also implementing new game mechanics to make the game more entertaining and also gives the player more ways to improve their combat style
what lore exactly? they don't explain sh*t they just add a bunch of nonsense and you have to accept it and move on. not to mention they completely forget about lumen sages in this game.
47:05 As if she didn’t walk out of a café with a bunch of bread at the beginning of the game.
12:00 Watching him just blindly dump upgrades on weapons he doesn't even use and not bothering to read how to perform the attacks he was buying was painful.
He didn't even upgrade the Yo-Yo 💀
All those points spent on moves he's not going to use. Pain
We have reached Arin Hanson levels of tutorial ignoring lol
Lord this video wasn’t easy to watch
Why do let's players never read the text on the screen that explains what to do and then get annoyed that they can't figure things out, the game literally tells u what to do.. come on man
It's a weird trend I've seen with streamers. Are they afraid their viewers will leave if the menu is on screen for more than 30 seconds?
the game feels so expressive
For those on the wall, you could have also used your demon summons.
“I’m just pressing buttons “ 55:10 that’s why they show you the controls on the left side (sorry too much to comment in this video hah )
I love Bayonetta 3 because of the many surprises and new directions it offered.
31:15 the wind in the room was blowing you to the side when you jump
Lmao, the way you said its awful just 'cuz you dont knew the bird fly pressing B. 💀💀💀
52:45 I'm kinda sad that you didn't mention the Dmc reference when they introduced The Phantom
Half of the episode I was like: Press B to make the bird fly!! 🤣🤣
needs to pay more attention to demons in bayonetta 3, it's a huge feature to this game.
actually you can give instructions to demons and keep up combos with bayonetta herself, no necessary to dancing all the time
I will say almost every time the game throws a challenge that appears awkward, it gave the commands or an example use case or a training room, so-to-speak on how to use things prior, or is telling you specifically on the side of the screen what type of moves are suited for the situation. i.e. back fighting Asperatus it was giving you a hint to use Phantasmaraneae's [R move] web to slow it down, also later multiple times hinting at its immunity to fire damage for any time you need to move past or on lava (including the Masquerade, both recommended for the fight against Pyrocumulus when she mentioned "a friend that likes it hot").
Me too! especially bayo3 have it's own theme song! (we are as one) BUT TGA namination list did not have bayo3 in best music... like ???
@@jafen4867 Pretty sure Bayo release was so late that it couldn't make the nominations this year.
Love bayonetta 3 take on making things bigger and better! Who doesn’t love giant kaiju battles.
ok, that was insane difficult to watch, i mean, ever remember to jump while doing puzzles? oh gosh, that was bad and weird, you seriously got some brain fart...
The desert chapter is the worst. The pacing is painfully slow
"I swear to god, If I have to use the song for this-"
And here we have the irish lad not reading the UI again XD
