At first, I thought this was a full size manned sailplane. I know the are banned for most of the year, especially during the summer. Where are the hang gliders? Looks like you have the place to yourself.
Actually I'm not sure they are banned. I think its more the insurance issue and the expense of getting the waiver to have the aerotow or cable tow event there. We have a couple full scale sailplanes (motorized) that will come in and fly along the cliff side now and the . We have to keep an eye out for them as they are so quiet when they come by. But they sure are pretty to see flying past us.
Thank you very much for the VDO! Use to fly scale gliders there a lot until 2016 when I left the US for Thailand in order to answer God's calling to become a missionary to Thailand. God bless...
...it took me at least a couple of minutes to realize, that this is a RC Glider 😂😂😂 ...guessing it would be a great idea to ask the "glider port" for hostage i searched the Internet... but there is no glider club for gliders...😂. Could be no greater honor for a RC Pilot...perfect illusion
Torrey Pines Gliderport is and started as a full scale Gliderport. They don’t fly full scale here much any more. I think the main reason is insurance costs is too high, second there have quite a few buildings going up around the space making it only possible to land straight in (downwind). I’ve seen the full scale fly here back in the 1980’s
Beautiful gliders and a lovely spot to fly.
Looks like a great place! Very nice flight as well!
cool! Great spot and nice flying with a scale model glider. Would like to be there once.
Like the music with this
We are of the sky, and the sky takes us back..✌️
Pure Grace!
I liked the heli hovering over the water at the 12:01 mark.
One for the glider boys, quite relaxed flying.
Nothing like a scale glider just cruising majestically through the air.
Well, I would suggest there is something better…. Actually flying IN a FULL scale glider 🙃
Just Beautiful ...I Enjoyed it very much..Thank You..
Beautiful. Just stunning glider and place to fly it.

Hey guys, how much is the span?
The LET Model DG-1000 is 5.3m and 4.8m with the short tips
@@sdmoller What technology are used to make the wings?
@@Vasilmgn the sailplanes comes already constructed in all fiberglass and carbon fiber. All one has to do is install the electronics.
With a more scale like cockpit, no one would see that it is a RC glider...invest in a pilot and a copilot puppet, man..
