“preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4 ESV Either the Gospel is the power to save or it isn’t.
I was born in 1983. So I think that makes me a Melenial too ? Lol . I'm from the UK myself , but I remember VHS and blockbusters . Gosh those were the days . I just didn't quite approach it as much as I do would now in hindsight . Those were awesome times !!
Summary: 1. Emphasize present-day benefits of the gospel (peace, joy). IOW, train our kids how to share their personal testimony. 2. Train our kids to know the gospel well enough to be able to share it with others. I've also been doing that for 45 years. There really doesn't seem to be much "new under the sun." Just a change in emphasis, taking into account that there are more secular kids today who know much less about Christianity, and so we MUST teach apologetics and Christian worldview. I've done that for 45 years. Teach kids to know what they believe and why they believe it. It's really pretty simple. Paul Little and Francis Schaeffer taught this 50 years ago.
