Did you know you can actually swap stance without disengaging? If you dash and hold your melee button, you will seamlessly swap stance as you do the dash attack.
Only problem with this which is a bit annoying, at least on my end, is that he stops holding up the shield while dashing, so ranged enemies can get a shot in. I probably have to do it in the exact moment that I'm about to swing instead, but would've been nice if he kept it up even while switching stances.
I wish they’d add some colors to the cloth on both of those armors and the regalia u gain over the course of the game u should be able to make it all match ur drip on all characters but I understand how that’s not in the game at drop maybe something they could work on tho
You're a good bulwark man nice job! I have 4 classes at level 25 currently and for me its the most challenging class but also the most rewarding once you get the swing of it
So invigorating icon is useless currently due the rejuvenating effect banner being bugged by giving you the full contested hp, meaning for now you should instead use either merciless resolve or purity of purpose, and it depends on if you want a more crowd control area denial build or a melee shield bash build
It was my first class and really disappointed me in the endgame as it requires more effort than say Heavy, Sniper or Tactical, but will give it another go with your build. Thank you.
I think what you are experiencing is the chaos struggle. Bulwark is significantly harder to play against chaos than xenos. It requires a more defensive approach because they can shoot at you from every angle and shred your hp. Ranged characters have it a lot better against them because it’s easier to keep the enemies in front of them.
@@kolbywilliams7234 I mean I have all classes maxed and run ruthless only, so I can manage, I just found it lacking offensively compared to the others. I also feel like the difficulty was stealth nerfed during the launch day patch and didn't play bulwark since early access. It is a waste of time running bulwark in the chaos missions compared to the other 5, that's how I feel at least.
@@IVANGUARDI I think offensively, bulwark is pretty strong as long as he can get parries off. I get the most kills pretty consistently in xeno missions for that reason. That’s the whole problem with chaos, though. Unlike the Xenos, the chaos enemies are not balanced in enemy types. Aside from the sword and board minoris enemies, and one terminus enemy, every single chaos enemy sits back and shoots projectiles. There are almost no opportunities to parry, and playing aggressively opens you up to a barrage of damage. I would say Bulwark needs something more to mitigate range spam to become more viable against the chaos marines. Every other character has a way of dealing reliable damage at range and/or gap closing efficiently. Bulwark doesn’t have either of those. I’m thinking maybe create some kind of 360 bubble, or maybe hefty damage mitigation while sprinting/blocking, I don’t know. I agree it’s not the best in those missions especially, and it really needs something to make it less frustrating.
@@kolbywilliams7234 very true, but having to rely on parry is the fundamental issue. An equally skilled player with a Melta or Double Melta will consistently out damage you, because the class balance is off. Bulwark and Assault should both innately have like 20% extra melee dmg and improved health healing through melee dmg...and a stacking ranged dmg reduction based on killing spree or something. It annoys me, cuz I prefer both of their play styles, but their kit doesn't do enough for them compared to the others.
Its actually not tied to the bulwark its tied to the 20% hp perk which the heavy can have as well so those 2 classes with that ability are probably one of the best duos for letting the 3rd guy take all the stims
I was initially really excited for Assault, because 2-handed hammers are always my shit. Sadly, Assault is by far the worst class so I went with Bulwark instead. So glad I did. The Power Sword is incredibly fun to use, parrying is satisfying, and being able to hold a corridor by yourself is badass. Also Black Templars, because Black Templars.
Assault doesn't feel great until the tail end of leveling. When you're able to just hop in groups over and over, it's pretty insane. And when you level the hammer, one of the perks gives the charged slam, a double slam that does HUGE damage.
Noob to bulwark and loving it, what’s the difference between the stances. Obviously different combo but is it better to just stay in one stance for the whole run or is there something like one stance is better for blocking/shield bashing? Hope that makes sense 😬
one if for slow wide swing better for a group while the other is more for single target but the speed in the single target is so much faster i prefer to stay in the single target only switching to pick up that 20% dmg boost. hope this explained it better. both do the same dmg output with each swing.
@@Cepcep77 yep cleave is more viewed as a knock back as well. its up to you what style u like best just switching back and forth a lot for the buff is important

oh fuk yea been in love with this game since it dropped have not played anything else tbh, yeah i do the Hailey grind kinda sucked the life outta it at the moment for me. got another class video at the moment being worked on just a little slow with editing learning as i go thanks for all the support kd means alot cheers mate.

Can we get any other builds for bulwark? Everyone uses the same build and its kinda boring, theres an epic perk that bulwark has where non finisher gunstrikes give armor too, which has no cooldown and its in the shock parry column, but it gives more armor depending on the class of enemy? As dodging and gunstriking the tyrant gives full armor back making you able to solo him easily if ur friend keep the ads off u, idc if its better or worse im just tired of seeing everyone only use the parry build which means the block weapons( which are generally better weapons) never get used
You're obviously an exceptional player and you almost did as much damage as your heavy. Almost. Edit: I'm not knocking a well played Bulwark, but a poor / mediocre Bulwark is just a target, while a mediocre Heavy will post top total damage almost every run.
as bulwark ur job is to stay alive and take out big fellas fast for ur team. also to hold agro on mobs to mitigate damage from ur team. thanks for watching cheers
Really? I main bulwark and so far I get most total kills and total damage almost every match, and I don’t consider myself particularly good. I also play with randos, so it’s not like I just play with the same heavy every game. Parries shred enemies with the right perks, which leads to lots of damage on every enemy in the area. Not to mention being able to switch between single target/cc moves is a huge advantage. Obviously I never win most ranged damage, though! Edit: Total melee damage. For clarification.
very misleading vid as someone who ran bul first when none of us knew anything, he is not a strong class till you fully understand all the games melee mechanics bad vid for new players.
lvl 11 fully unlocked, all u need is a balance wep to get the ball rolling, also this is a showcases of bulwark not a low lvl bulwark. also prolly one of the easiest to use at low lvl being able to block almost all damage with ur shield. all classes are good and can do ruthless at lvl 1 i have done it.

i agree i wish we could also have more choice as well.
Same and with the tacticals little loincloth

Just a note, as of now Bulwark has a bug where if you choose the same loadout at the loadout pod you heal to full HP.
