Hey, I found your yt channel today and I'm kinda of rushing your content, it's amazing! I'm considering buy a new survival game and I have a LOT on my wishlist. Icarus, Nightingale and Enshrouded are the ones I'm most likely to buy. That being said, I have one question: wich one would you recommend? Considering that they're pretty much the same price I'm very unsure which one to choose T-T (Btw: I play mostly of the time with 1 or 2 friends) Thank you very much in advance for your attention, keep doing your content, it's amazing :D
Thank you so much! It’s comments like this that makes RUclips worth doing! I haven’t played Icarus yet actually. It is on my list though. As for Nightingale or Enshrouded it’s a tricky question. Honestly not sure which my favorite is. They’re pretty different from each other - Enshrouded is a lot more Action RPG like with loot drops and a skill tree whereas Nightingale is a more pure crafting survival game, granted it obviously also has some RPG elements. I really enjoy both games but I think it is a safer bet that everyone will enjoy Enshrouded when playing with friends. Also worth noting that Nightingale was 40% off during Black Friday sale and I feel there’s a pretty good chance it’ll be discounted again for/after Christmas. Whereas Enshrouded typically only gets a 20% discount. I hope that helps with picking one :)
I just wanna say I totally agree with some of the stuff that you were saying I’ve only been playing for 16 hours so far and there are some weird of problems that the game has but like you said it’s an early access game and of course there are major updates soon to come but in my experience, I got a really good time playing Nightingale. It has a really good spin on the survival crafting experience. It’s not totally the same as any other survival crafting game and they put their own twist. Onto it and so far I’ve really enjoyed it
Agreed! I think they got a really interesting formula on their hands. Just need a bit more refinement in some areas. Yeah, I’m really excited to see what the next major update brings! Personally, I’m really hoping for more biomes.
I'm enjoying the game solo, exploring is interesting and there's enough creepy tension in some places. Not a big fan of the weird combat though, enemies move around like they're in a responsive action game, not a sluggish first person one. It's also weird the game has such a focus on crafting and building when it doesn't really fit the premise. It would be cool if putting gear on NPCs let them generate better resources from the estate and if all crafting and building could just be delegated to them and the player just lays the blueprints for what they want. It's a bit disappointing as well how the endgame loop is just getting bigger numbers on gear instead of letting us become more magically powerful and capable of more fae like feats.
Agreed. In general I think the world design is quite strong in Nightingale. Yeah, I think I might be in the minority, with actually liking the combat haha. I think the dash alleviates any sluggishness more or less entirely. Would definitely like to see the the NPC systems expanded on. The endgame, story, biome diversity really needs to be expanded upon along with more tools, spells and stuff. But that’s what the Early Access tag is for I guess.
