I have been there live - he picks only the best musicians and they need to have fun and feel the music while playing. It was amazing. This year my fifth concert will be visited. He never studied music, he couldn't read any notes and he tried out everything and the result is unbelievable.
That guitar player is none other then Guthrie Govan who also has a stint playing with Steven Wilson around the time of his HandCannotErase album. There is a near video online of him playing a solo for that album which apparently was just one take and he was done.
I think Zimmer listened to Tangerine Dream back in the day,I could be wrong, anyway see on the next one lee...btw as an ex drummer myself I'm impressed by a lot of the reactions you do,you're doing a good job man, keep it up.
This was great FD, a real treat. Thank you for recommending this. I am a sucker for movie soundtracks. Am I the only one who thinks Hans Zimmer sounds like the actor Alan Rickman who played Hans Gruber in Die Hard and Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies, among others?
Since you are a drummer, check out "160 BPM Angels Demons Hans Zimmer". A lot of heavy drumming in that one during a Hans Zimmer Live, with one of the best drummers I've ever seen ( Satnam Singh Ramgotra ) You're gonna be amazed 🙂
The list of songs in this are: 1) "Jack Sparrow" 2) " Marry me" 3) "Up is down" 4) "He's a Pirate" He's a Pirate is considered by fans to be the Theme Song to the POTC movies, because it's the most recognized.
Hans wrote “He’s a Pirate” in one day on the piano. Jerry Bruckheimer wanted Zimmer to compose the score for the first Pirates film after he let go of Alan Silvestri, but Zimmer was under contract to work on The Last Samurai, so he couldn’t. He demoed melodies on his piano and sent them over to Klaus Badelt to be orchestrated and refined. Zimmer would go on to compose the scores for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Pirates films and one of his protégés (Badelt was also one of his “protégés”) Geoff Zanelli composed the score for POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Love it. Love Classical Music, Love Music scores Too. Can't beat Bernard Herrmans work with Hitchcock. (See how old I am)
You should react to more from this concert man. All of them are perfect

Amazing Satnam Ramgothra on drums
Hans Zimmer first wowed in the opening of Thelma & Louise. Sad he's gone from us
Who's gone? Hans Zimmer is still very much with us.

Live in Prague 2016
more of hans zimmer live!!
I guess I must be ol'...When I think o' Pirates O' The Caribbean my mind goes to a water ride through a cave in Disneyland.
That's Guthrie Govan on guitar, he's right up there with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Check out his band the Aristocrats with Marco Minneman on drums.
Oh I know Guthries stuff very well! He’s a beast!
So sick
Check out Guthrie with The Aristocrats.
Horner was taken from us too soon, way too soon, to me John Williams will always be at the top but Horner was a challenger to Zimmer
