That's what I was thinking. It's a warm welcome back to hell. What kind of curve ball are they gonna throw at them this time around since they've been through this? I can only imagine it'll be more intense than before.
M Da Martian Oh for sure. They have to do just about everything the recruits do but havw to learn and memorize all the SOPs for recruit training, learn all the drill techniques and meneuvers, first aid, and more.
No, this is just for the first 7 minutes. Directly after the video cuts out the commander comes in and tells the students that the school will not be like that. if you don't believe me look up the 15-20 minute version of this.
You see i joined the Navy to avoid this, only to become a FMF Corpsman to deal with it anyway. Ain't life grand😂😂 funny thing is it's not that bad when you actually there in it
My comm school instructor is in this video. There’s a longer version of the video where the 1st Sgt for the school comes out and basically gives them a “yo, that was pretty stupid right? This is a professional school and we intend to treat you like marines but It can get stupid pretty quick you get me?” Speech
God damn this would suck. Being an E-5 or E-6 and having to go back to being treated like a recruit. That would definitely take some getting use to again!
Epic, I assume this is a big deal to "shock" the Marines out of the Fleet and get them ready to perform for DI School? I'll be honest, even if I had gotten to even better shape, I don't think I could have hacked DI School, going through boot once was enough for me, and the shear amount of memorization required is amazing. If that's the case them seriously major props to our brothers overseas if they send even one guy over to learn here that deserves major respect!!
I doubt it. If anything, they are probably taking more mental notes than stressing out. Basic is a lot of time management since you have so little time to pack so much information and training before you graduate. I'd imagine it would be more annoying than anything, considering these marines/soldiers/airmen/sailors/coasties (pick your branch) have already proven themselves as great leaders, otherwise they wouldn't even be there.
Back in 1994 this drill instructor giving the commands Master Gunnery Patton was my drill instructor in MCRD San Diego California (. He was en E 5 back then )
Man, this, in some ways, must be tougher than going through basic training. All the yelling and stuff is cool when you're a recruit, but as an individual who has 3 combat tours, earned my CAB, lead my soldiers in actual combat, lol, it would be kinda irritating to say the least.
The ROKMC sends officers and NCOs on USMC exchange tours and courses, but they don't train Korean DI's as a matter of course. ROKMC boot camp is an order of magnitude more difficult already. My dad was a ROK Marine Vietnam vet when came over to the US and then enlisted and did another 20 here. Said everything in the US was like playing on easy mode.
That is pretty interesting...based on the videos I've seen, it looks more intense than what the recruits these days go thru during pickup...But on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being how my Pickup day went in '74, I'd rate it about a 3....The Corps has changed a lot in 43 years. These footlocker "drills" were especially interesting to me...ours were just a "little" bit different (envision loaded footlockers failing inspections and being tossed across the squad bay contents flying while rack inspections were also failing with mattresses and bedding being tossed about)...it was pretty crazy back in the day.
steve Fowler that still happens. heck one of my old mates was ITd for a while until he threw up and then had him do push ups ontop of his vomit. then had him clean it up. that was after shit was flying everywhere.
