- The Tablenders Male Quartet: Dick Storrs - 1st Tenor, Monte Poulson - 2nd Tenor, Dick (Richard) Robison - 1st Bass, and Gary VanWagoner - 2nd Bass; Recorded ca. 1950-1960. Location is unknown (possibly at Brigham Young University). This recording was originally copied to, and distributed on, vinyl record(s), and as such, the presence of clicking and popping can be heard. In, or before, 1994, the recordings were transferred from the record(s) to audio tape, and in the process, some EQ was applied in an attempt to reduce the presence of record noise. A cassette copy of the songs was sent to Richard Robison in 1994. In 2025, the songs were converted from the analog audio cassette format to digital format and some judicious ‘cleaning’ was applied to further remove the original record noises. The location of the original vinyl records is unknown, and there is little additional information available about these recordings.
In addition, combined with this ca. 1950-1960 group of recordings, there are two other Tablender songs, two duets and five men’s choir numbers from a different ‘live’ recording, which is believed to have occurred at BYU. There is no information regarding these recordings. The vocalists in the duets are unknown, as is the name of the choir that performs. There is a possibility that one or more members of the Tablenders were involved, but that information is not available. Some of the recordings have audio glitches or they were partially cut at the beginning or at the end. Efforts have been taken to make these problems less distracting.
