The Best Coffee Cups on the Market

  • In this video we look at three of our styles of compostable paper coffee cups by World Centric. Traditional hot cups are lined with petroleum based plastic linings. Not only does this make them not compostable, it can also leach into the hot beverage. These cups are lined with Ingeo, a plastic made entirely from plant starch. The insulated hot cups have a pocket of air between the layers that can eliminate the need for a sleeve! (Alternatively, one could use a coffee sleeve, too, for triple insulation.)
The kraft cups featured in this video have a beautiful natural, artisan look and are the most eco-friendly option available. They are unbleached, so their brown color is the natural color of the paper. Their manufacturing process uses about 25% less water and resources than that for white paper cups.

But they wanted a hot drink to go, yes? I like to call back to a lawsuit brought against a woman (maybe this is an urban legend) who took her McDonalds coffee between her knees after going through a drive through and at a point after her receiving it spilled or crushed the cup and scalded her self. As often happens when someone does something stupid they regret and an available scapegoat can be pointed to either to take up responsibility or to at least make them feel better she sued McDonalds. I do not know the finer details of this story but I can say from what little I know I believe she deserved to be burnt by her mistake and McDonalds was not libel for her medical treatment. You could say that maybe a drink was too hot but that's just nonsense. The only fault comes when a lid is fractured or improperly topped on a cup. There is no perfect container where you the customer will be completely safe from harm, because you gave up the right to avoid danger when you were born, and if you want nice things some times you must risk life and limb, or in some cases pride and possibly burning your self while looking stupid in the process.
I know what you're talking about and I'll be clear. There is little difference between one product line and another. You still risk burning your self with basic plastics and paper options. If you want to avoid all possible consequences of hurting your self bring your own cup with a locking lid and insulated walls. This will not prevent someone burning them selves forever but it would reduce the quantity. And of course even if someone does burn them selves having had a drink made up and put in their own glass won't stop them from suing someone. People are blind to their mistakes and petty beyond reason.
What options are there really? Room or body temperature drinks. But that won't stop even the insane and the malicious. People. People are awful and short sighted. I came here to find out about composting and to question why I can't find clear information about these product lines. But then I saw this line of concern and all I can think of now is how any human out there could turn something into a threat against them. So those are the options unless all fearful citizens wish to stay indoors away from the potential dangers of the world.
