Timed entry at Mount Rainier National Park begins

- Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the timed entry pilot program for Mount Rainier National Park.
The program is being tested after the park saw an approximate 40% increase in visitation over the past decade, which has led to overcrowding during the summer and damage to ecosystems.
Timed entry reservations are only required to enter the Paradise Corridor May 24 through Sept. 2 and the Sunrise Corridor July 4 through Sept. 2 for the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Paradise is accessed through the Nisqually Entrance or Stevens Canyon Entrance. Sunrise is entered through the White River Entrance.

My 16 family members from Mexico come here for free land and life. We are going there tomorrow. I told all my cousins and nephews to move here as well. Love inslee to give us stress free life.

OMG!! I grew up here and haven't been in years as I don't live in the area...I'm here now wanting to go up and my friend said we need a reservation! WHAT?? You used to be able to just drive up there and there were hardly any cars. The parking lot was always half empty! This is just sad and distressing. There's too many people populating the area and it just ruins everything.
"Aye BooBoo, there is a ranger stealing all the picnic baskets we should be getting and now she's going to let in only a small amount of people, we're gunna starve, BooBoo Bear, starve!"
Social media bring crowds to anything that's awesome.
We only go see these types of destinations during the off season. It's still busy but not as crowded.
Anything inexpensive is going to be crowded.
I hope this doesn't lead to more people going to the north cascades.

They did this in Colorado and it is an absolute Sh!t show!!! Now City, County and State parks are doing the same. Basically everyone who lives in the state cant use the parks they pay for in Taxes!! That is unless you schedule months ahead. Next they will eliminate ALL camping without reservations. Yes. Colorado did that also..and so will Washington. 😢
