but thanks for this though.. it reaffirmed my plan for myself. i'm not a power hitter.. i'm purist through and through... after lara.. i loved thorpe... just nudge nurdle and accumulate with the odd elegant french cut of off drive in between. my plan is to work on my conditioning to maintain fitness as i run multiple singles/doubles while waiting for that very odd boundary... don't know if it will work,.. but i believe if i can hold up an end while my team mates go at it at the other.. then we may be able to put up competitive scores that with good bowling/fielding we may be able to defend successfully.

This technique of standing deep in Crease against good bowling is good on Mat or Hard/ Bouncy Wickets. But on a Evenly paced /Slow track once ur eye sets in one sud b on front foot, one still can play play front foot Pull or hook.

Respected sir, wonderfully explained us about being busy with legs, using back foot sometimes, running between wickets ofcourse, and always trying to hit strait initially, all these with a level head n head pretty much I believe in mind as well. It's a game. But my question is.. I'm used to back lift my bat with left hand, and it's strait... ie... Exactly the face of bat fully open and a vertical rectangle....whereas most others keep their bats lifted up a bit across....like even your lift. (not too high position). My grip is v shaped and does it any make difference... as I face difficulty sometimes when the balls off side are too pacy and when I attempt ondrive.... on front foot. Please explain and demonstrate a perfect ondrive......! Thanking you

Mate when they talk about having a still head. That means it shouldn't be going falling onto the off or the on side. You can move it up and down to play the ball right under your eyes.
Am a front foot trigger movement,, when I bat,, and little bit Openchest batsman,,, I carefully take strike rutet,, drive, cut, pull, flick,, is easy but iam not so much able power hitting,,, what I can do?? Plz u suggest me any technique???
This was awesome, I particularly liked tip 1 as it's a concrete plan for good balls and I like the back and across, I haven't really had a plan in mind just a vague thought of "noodle it into a gap for 1 if it's a good ball". I hope you get back into coaching after you retire you have great insight into t20 batting.

Ur right hand should be in a "V" shape the "V"should be of right hand thumb and index finger.left hand u can keep as u want necauae it is ur power hand

Village cricket is very annoying in my place where only 3 and 4 people play there is boundary only straight and they all bowl legside
