I just discovered your channel. Love you guys. If I ever visit Gatlinburg I'm going to rent the biggest, heaviest vehicle I can find, drive to Five Guys, park in the back. Then get me a burger and shake, sit outside and enjoy watching you figure out how to get it out of there. Then I'll come running up at the last minute and say, "I didn't see no signs, and that lady told me it was okay to park here. "😂❤❤❤
Kristen is right…when googling things, read what pops up ! If it says “ads or sponsored “ SCROLL QUICKLY. Ask many questions ! A reputable company isn’t afraid of questions, but also, be polite. Kindness goes a long way these days as it seems in short supply ! Thanks again for another awesome video and is the grand baby here yet ?! I’m excited for ya all. Keeping Kendra and your family in my prayers
I run google ads monthly for my local business and they show up as "ads or sponsored" at the top of keyword searches. You just have to verify it's a real local business that's all.
Hey Jeff and family, Hope all is well. RUclips brought your videos to my feed. I have owned and operated a family run auto repair shop in La Mesa Ca. For the last 39 years. I wanted to say I recognize your humble approach to what you do, the commitment to family and how you can quickly assess a situation and form a plan and execute. Keep doing what you do and thank you for the videos. I think Kendra’s vehicle is totaled, hopefully the insurance will fix that problem. Keep doing what you do.
Wow, in business 39 years in La Mesa; that's something. I lived in SoCal in my 20s (late 80s) moving home to Texas in 92. I'd been back to visit a few times, I know you've seen some serious growth and changes in that time. Congrats on a long living successful business especially in these times. ✌️
If that scammer tells their “customer” they’re a tow company but they tell you they’re an insurance company, I believe not only are they scammers but misrepresenting an insurance company (i.e. fraud). I’d try to get which insurance company they’re representing and report all of their information to the state AG. Wouldn’t expect much but it might be a start. Hopefully they do report the charge as fraudulent and recover. So, I’ve had a bad day but didn’t wanna miss an episode, I drove 17 miles to get a cell signal just to watch. My internet antenna got hit by lightning yesterday, hopefully gets repaired tomorrow, so no internet, no phone (I’m on a booster in the boonies), then my truck went into the shop today for an estimated 2 weeks and $1k-$2k emissions repair, had to cancel my weeklong holiday camping trip that I planned for the past year. So, I needed something to brighten my day so here I am…I’m happier now, or at least content. Looks like I’ll get to see all of this week’s episodes now.
Jeff and Kristen, I know what that's like to be out in the middle of nowhere and get stranded because of a failure of a sensor, the engine would run, but the car wouldn't move more than 30 mph. We were 35 miles southeast of Tupelo, MS. It was Christmas Eve and it was 23 degrees in mid-afternoon. We put our car in the shop for repairs and my sister and her husband drove from Fort Smith, AR to pick us up, together with our luggage, and then back to Fort Smith where we were visiting. If we hadn't been able to run the engine on the car, we would have frozen before they got there --that's like a 6-7 hour drive one way, and it was a whole lot colder by the time they got there! Yes, our car had to be towed the 35 miles to Tupelo! We called our insurance company on that company's 800 number. That's exactly why we have that coverage on our auto policy!
Local restaurants/diners are notorious for having an abundance of business cards for local businesses, including tow companies that are local. My grandmother owned a small town diner and have a collection of business cards.
As a Retired Military Certified Storm / Disaster Damage Assessment Expert for FEMA and GEMA as well. When you see twisted tree debris. That is usually indicative of rotating winds. So glad you guys are safe and all accounted for. HooAH !!!
You guys are great people, when i was younger i help a friend run calls all weekend from Friday at 5:00 pm till Monday at 6:00 am, when the calls came in we had to go working AAA calls i have lot of respect you all ....
Hi Jeff and Kristen. May I congratulate you both on looking out for people in warning them about this scam going on with the towing company that's acting legitimate. I'm sure people would appreciate that very much. Bless you both. Be safe out there.👍🛌😃
Just a suggestion, Jeff & Kristen, but if you have U-Haul down there, you can rent a pickup from them for $19.99 a day 😉I did this last year when our van was totaled. Cheaper than a rental and most insurance companies will reimburse you for it.
Hi Jeff and Kristen! And the behind scenes people. I just happened to find your videos last week and I’m binge watching. I have never seen the dollies used before that was interesting. I’m from mid Ontario and grew up north on Lake Superior I’m shocked at how a tiny bit of snow stops everyone but you don’t get snow tires or don’t bother buying them. My suggestion is to buy new tires as close to snow season in your area. So you have the best traction and turn off traction control. Go slow and don’t brake hard just let it slow down on its own. I keep rock salt and non clumping kitty litter if I get stuck.
Hello Jeff and Kristen and Kendra. Great video as usual. Nice work on the red pick-up truck. I watched the live steam a while back and this one on the storm, and I just spent the last 2 1/2 days using a chain saw and draging limbs to the street. Up here in Lansing, Michigan, we had 85 mph winds Thursday night. And just east of here, a tornado with 105 mph winds. Congratulation. By the time we watch your next video, you guys will probably have 90 K. Be safe. Later.👍
Jeff and Kristen. Great video. Thank you for the scam info. Poor Kendra just what she needed was more stress. 🙏🙏🙏 for Kendra and baby. Also to your goal of 100K. So exciting to watch your channel grow. Stay safe.♥️♥️♥️
Jeff, if these storms don’t stop I’m not going to have any trees left, sure hate to see Kendra’s car missed up, I definitely feel for her. Kendra praying 🙏🏻 everything will work out for u. From Kentucky 😊.
Guy on the mini excavator needs to learn how the thumb works on the bucket. It's good that you took video of the tree on the car before removing it or the insurance may have tried to claim that the damage was done in some other way. That's exactly what I did when the windstorm back in March laid a tree onto our roof. Video first, then chainsaw and my tractor with grapple to get it off the roof so a contractor could tarp it up the next day. Over $33k later, and everything is fixed and paid for (minus my deduictible, of course).
Those scammers are everywhere like Jeff said. Kendra, I hope you get your car straightened out, or a new one depending on insurance. Great winch outs guys, stay safe.
I am coming to Gatlingburg for Christmas. We are renting a car and I have told the wife...If we are not paying to park we are doing something wrong!! I will look for your truck that week!!
If they filled the drainage ditches with permeable gabion rocks then you would have a surface closer to the height of the road and still allow water flow throughout the system.
One of these tried to get me on a relatively simple winch out on a 97 Ranger - wanted $4000 (yes, 4 thousand dollars!). Finally got a friend with a 2wd Tundra to pull it for the cost of a bag of jerky!
Great info on the scam tows!! Enjoyed meeting Jeff this past weekend and spending a few minutes talking with him!! Super nice guy!! Love the videos! Keep'em coming please!!
I live in Budapest and it’s standard here. The traffic lights go green and the crossing light goes green at the same time and pedestrians have priority..
Those storms hit us in NC about 4 hours after y’all were hit. I’m in Thomasville and we didn’t get it as bad what y’all got but we did have people with trees down from straight line winds. And I think there was a report of a tornado but nothing extremely severe. Before the storm, the heat and humidity had been unbearable. Like what you said, after the storm the next day the weather was absolutely beautiful.
Never pay for services before the service is provided. Don't care what the service is, a deposit is one thing, paying for the services before is a scam. Ran a remodeling business for years. Yes I took materials up from. Usually had the customer call the supplier directly and make the payment on my account for the invoice directly. That was so much easier, and I didn't have to pay income or B&O tax on the most expensive part of many jobs.
We really like watching you're videos! I don`t even recognize Gatlinburg now! Have not been there since I was a little 10 year old child, Grandparents Vacationed there almost every summer during the 50`s and 60`s, there was only a couple times our family did a detour through Gatlinburg on our way to Florida, We should be passing through there in the middle of December this year if everything goes as planned, I`m VERY sure that everything is much different now than it was the last time I was there - In 1974! Lol! We would like to spend some time there in the summer too but we focus on escaping the North in the winter in our Older years! It really stinks that the camping areas are closed when we want to travel! FYI, We have a nice self contained camper van, Thanks for the Heads up on the parking in the area, We Can`t use a parking garage because of the height of the van with the roof vent and solar panels. We`ll check to see if there are any "Harvest Hosts" in the area when we decide to travel through there.
I watched another video about the tow scam you mentioned. They actually used a mall address for a company called Bare Knuckles towing. The guy doing the video represented an organization called Southwest Tow Operators, or at least that is who he did the video for. The phone number called actually rang a tow company in Florida, that dispatched the sub-contracted tow companies like you. It is ironic you put out this video, you describe in perfect detail what the other video explained.
Kendras poor car! Terrible timing too. Hope she is doing well. I know the big day is coming up if it hasn’t already! (We will be celebrating my son and husbands birthdays this weekend!) Hoping you all didn’t get yelled at too much!
I did a random Google search for my area and there was to that popped up saying add sponsored and neither one of them had anything to do with any towing companies within my area so this must be happening everywhere in the US ☹️
Oh yes , Debit cards have little to no protection in my opinion. I do not have a debit card and do not want one! I use my charge card for everything and it has a lot of protections that come along with it.. I pay my bill in full at the end of the billing cycle and gain the cash back on the card. It works for me!
Mine does. There was a $700 plus charge from China. I called my credit union, and they researched and removed it. They asked me to file a police report and I did. I have also disputed smaller charges successfully.
I'm now in Pigeon Forge,TN until Labor Day Arrived here at this rental house yesterday Staying in Pigeon Forge,TN Already saw 2 shows seeing another tomorrow It's bad on someone getting scammed I be very careful now days I get approach on something like that few times since I'm a truck driver I tell them I don't want it I got scammed years ago on a road service call to my house a 3rd party company scammed me not the local tech guy Next time I will call the tech guy directly
The one I have seen with a locksmith. They say something really low, then charge a higher price. They tend to hold the keys or something similar as a way to make you pay while under duress.
@@TheEthiopian1987 I heard of that scam as well. The stories I've heard is that when you call for a locksmith it's the same situation that was described in the video, where you pay the dispatch over the phone or online a crazy price and then they dispatch a local locksmith that has no idea that you were just screwed over.
I wonder; how many of these winch outs are just folks trying to navigate the curvy mountain roads while using the cell phone? Could Kendra's Mazda be repaired or was it totaled by insurance company? Keep safe you all, "we appreciate ya!"
Was the storm Aug 7th? I was driving down I40 coming home from Nc and they had trees blown down everywhere thru the area south of you guys. I always enjoy driving thru the mountains of Eastern Tennessee, that day was not fun!

Here's a good tip, something the wife and I do. Every Law Enforcement Department has a non-emergency number and will also have a list of the local tow companies they'll be happy to provide you. Google the non-emergency number and give them a call 😉
Can't believe the Chevy of the tree trimmers still had a driveshaft. I take it they realized they weren't going anywhere. I hate scammers they all need caught and locked up in my opinion. Stay Safe guys.🤙🇺🇸
And also make them tell you what company their sending and the phone number. Look the company up on line. You not only have to be scammed they will now have your credit card number. 😢
I hate scammers. Those poor people need to call their credit card company ASAP.

Scammers exist because people don’t think twice about simple situations. $800 for a 6 mile tow 😔? You’re towing a car not a semi!

Being an ad or sponsored listing isn't a red flag, A lot of us run ads, I do, I know 3 other companies in my direct area do as well.

I've seen this the last time i needed a tow. They show someone three states away. Make sure there close to where the tow needed.
Appreciate your good information on scammers on towing , Thankyou !!!

Hello from the Netherlands.
thanks for the video EA-Team .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Thank you so much for the good info. I'm with Kristen, I NEVER click on a sponsored link.
I am predicting you having some crazy videos for August 26th weekend with the Jeep rally nuts in town
Great explanation on that type of scam! You keep building trust in your area!
Flower shops are having the same issues with the google ad services that pretend to be local. Craziness...
I get calls about towing cars near me, One ask me to bid on a tow call, pay them some money to get information.

Great content Jeff I remember when you first posted on Kendra's car just glad no one was in it at the time ❤
The people scammed for $800 can dispute the charge with their credit card company and usually get the charges dropped.
The small town I live in has 3 privately owned towing companies not including police inpound/towing.
Another excellent time with you two, thanks really enjoy them and the scam thing is a big deal, thanks for the insight.
Almost 90K!! 😊
Good advice!! Thank you for sharing with your YT family!!
🤣the one thing I’ve learned watching your channel is, I’ll NEVER go to vacation in Gatlinburg TN ❤️🥂but I love your RUclips
Crayola is opening a Crayola Experience in Pigeon Forge!
Question for a future episode - have you had a job that despite your best efforts just went sideways and ended up being unsalvageable?
I will say I’ve been there done that plus was up there Saturday at pigeon Forge TN for jeep invasion so hope y’all have a good one
In my mind I could smell that eastern red cedar when you were chainsawing it up!
Too bad it was a maple

Here in Australia, we have debit cards. But they work exactly like a credit card.
They have 16 digits, expiry and the CVV on the back.
Same here.
Kendras poor car! Terrible timing too. Hope she is doing well. I know the big day is coming up if it hasn’t already! (We will be celebrating my son and husbands birthdays this weekend!) Hoping you all didn’t get yelled at too much!
I have a Makita cordless chainsaw and it rocks. May be easier for you guys to have on the truck

25:38 you can dispute the rental car and get it extended.
The is like 1-800-FLOWERS. Scammers need some jail time to pause and reflect.
Great information and job Thank you guys ❤
Kristen is my hero she is awesome love how she gets right in there and love seeing couples work so well together
You all do have some crazy roads after driving the roads in Houston.
Ask for Everything Auto in Tn. With Kristan and Jeff. Best way to go. ❤ love yal
Hello Jeff and Kristen , thumbs UP!!
6:25 I’m not a fan of when they pull sideways like that. Just seems like it’s putting torque on the control arms and drive shafts in weird ways.
I hate scammers. Sorry about the car. I hope the insurance process goes smoothly for you. What a mess.
Waiting for footage of tows during the jeep invasion in pigeon forge
Jeff you need a mulching head for the excavator
I'm now in Pigeon Forge,TN until Labor Day
Arrived here at this rental house yesterday
Staying in
Pigeon Forge,TN
Already saw 2 shows seeing another tomorrow
It's bad on someone getting scammed
I be very careful now days
I get approach on something like that few times since I'm a truck driver
I tell them I don't want it
I got scammed years ago on a road service call to my house a 3rd party company scammed me not the local tech guy
Next time I will call the tech guy directly
Thanks Jeff!!! I was fixing to watch the new justified show!! But no!! You had to post a new video and here I am!! 😂😂
I hated that storm! Had me working 100 hours total that week
When in doubt call your insurance company. They have a financial interest in protecting your vehicle.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧
Hey yal, thanks for the videos #mountaintowtruckers love you guys❤
Have you ever broke or busted a wheel or bearing pulling from the wheels like that?
I've got someone trying to scam me and what's sad is the police aren't able in some of these to do anything cause they can't find them. Yall stay safe
Love to see an old picture of you without the beard!

That sure looks like poison ivy all over that tree. Hopefully not! This was interesting, thanks for sharing.
But your tows don’t seem to be $100/tow. Easy to understand why an insured driver would call insurance co
Best practice is to call local PD or sheriff and ask the names of local towing companies.
Here's a good tip, something the wife and I do. Every Law Enforcement Department has a non-emergency number and will also have a list of the local tow companies they'll be happy to provide you. Google the non-emergency number and give them a call 😉

I dislike scammers! So many people fall for scams because the bad people are getting so creative in their plots!
And also make them tell you what company their sending and the phone number. Look the company up on line. You not only have to be scammed they will now have your credit card number. 😢
Police Dept. or State Police have a list and will be glad to help.
That’s why you pay with a credit card and then if no service is provided you file fraud charges and get your money back.
If they paid by credit card they can dispute it
I have disputed a couple of debit card charges and it was just fine.
