- During the game's introduction, an old woman is seen looking out her window, before she adjusts a picture of a baby and picking up a ball of yarn. As she proceeds upstairs, a lone ball of yarn rolls out of shot. Yarny, an anthropomorphic creature made of red yarn, and the game's protagonist, then walks into shot, and is visibly staring around in wonder of his environment. According to Sahlin, the yarn that makes up Yarny represents love, and that the character unravels as they travel away from what they love.

In sweden there’s a saying that’s called a “En röd tråd” that means “a red line”. It means that the story is progressing and is keeping together. That is just one of thousands of thing that is beautiful about this game.

This game makes me miss my ex. I used to play this game when me and her were going through a rough patch in our lives, where we couldn’t really leave but we both had nothing so we only had eachother and this game brings back all the emotions and how i felt during that time. I played this during my undergraduate days. Now I’m a resident watching this again on RUclips on a stress filled day made me feel so light. It just makes me feel life is all about doing things we love to. Feeling so emotional and nostalgic.

This is visually marvellous, the atmoshperes are great and many seem to appreciate its message. Still, I found myself mad at the game 90% of the time

Same here, I just wanted to find all the secrets in the berry mire but I could NOT get past the stick and water thing.
You are so right! Just purchased it from the PS store, it's on offer with Unravel 2 in the UK, 4.99 for both! Love the look of the game, but find it very frustrating to play, and think I'll be turning the mournful music off at some point.
i think that the gameplay of this game should be without any comments, so that everyone can enjoy the music. In this sense this gameplay is perfect *_*

I wasn't at first into these 2D types of games but to see the evolution of what Mario Bros & Sonic has inspired, I have to say I'm intrigued by game like this. The puzzle solving & thinking on your feet is awesome.

This game is gorgeous. Haven’t played a game with this style since the original A Boy and His Blob. Glad that they made a comeback with this type of game because I’ve been playing Max the Curse of brotherhood and I’m having a blast It really makes you think how do you gonna make it to the next portion

Fun fact: This is a Swedish developed game and I’m Swedish. I learnt that fact from “Tekniska Museet” (Technical Museum in English) The top floor is a game zone and unravel is there, there next to the screen there is a sign that says some info. Also on the pillow where the cutscene ends it says “Lycka blommar ur små enkla ting” That is Swedish.
