I love it. Skill blindshooting ebr and smacking him on the move from a couple hundred meters away while telling you that it isnt a sniper is priceless .
Actually the controversial opinion isn't even E-50M, it is 140. 140 is still pretty good (although I'd say the current meta is not that kind towards it), however to use 320 alpha in current WoT you need to play the perfect amount of aggression which is actually very hard. Otherwise you won't be able to utilize DPM unless you're lucky and met tourists. The problem is I have no idea what to replace it with, since autoloaders are out of question and 121B isn't a tech tree tank. I guess Patton, since it still has decent gun + alpha, gun depression, and some armor so it could become your starter hulldown medium tank before you get into STB or UDES
yeah, that tank is anything but beginner friendly, super hard to play low alpha, high dpm tanks for a beginner imo, lol it will be even hard for a good players in current meta
For beginners, is it not true that most of the damage you're going to get is against tourists anyway? I noticed that many beginners tend to be tourists themselves! If you are running in the open field, is it not true that you will most likely get only shots off on other tourists before you get banged by TDs sniping from the "invisible bush" or from a hulldown veteran chieftan or super conquerors staring you in the face? On the other hand, I've also seen quite a few new players that learn the bush (TD redline sniping) and often sit in one spot. If you only do this, your main shot opportunities are still tourists, no?
Started playing around Oct 2022 and my 1st line was the Patton Line. Tank is definitely usable but suffers hard in the current meta, don't know if I would recommend as a beginner tank either.
@@aureole420 Yeah I know, that is why I struggled to think what I could consider as the beginner friendly medium tank. Patton has been buffed but it's true that with how fast and tough heavy tanks nowadays it's true that playing Patton is a challenge. I'd argue that it is still pretty easy to use, but it's just hard to be really competitive in it. I simply don't know what is the alternative. STB also has lower alpha and delicate siege mode platform which made it trickier to work while UDES has awkward rear turret. In the end if not Patton I guess 140 is still the only option left which is why I don't object to Skill's pick that much.
What I expect are: 430U, Udes and E50M. But, if you say some people may have objections, I think you will NOT choose 430U and take Progetto or TVP instead... EDIT, oh, I wasn't right
@@jordanandin7084 they are either autoreloaders or autoloaders. Whilst they can work, it's only consistent in skilled hands. Also, hp pool on the battlefield is increasing slowly so tanks with magazines are less effective imo
Compared to all of that, the O140 is just a normal mobile medium tank with some armor on the upper plate and turret and on the move dispersion that is so good that you barely have to stop and aim - and when you miss with O140 you have such a fast reload that you're gonna get another shot off!
So happy to see my first love / tier 10 (E-50M) on the list! I concur with the analysis / selections. I have a Leo 1, love it, but you are quite literally "rocking across the field with your balls in your hand", albeit with a _LASER CANNON_. E-50M has the laser cannon also, but is a little more chunky and endurance. Was glad to see the 140 play style, as that's one line I am slowly working on next. Thanks for your video, and humility in presenting all this!
I would say grinding 140 is useless when you can just buy t62a which is almost the same tank but better except having 2 Degrees less gun deppression. Which is also okay since 140 gun deppression is already sh.t anyways.
I agree E50M is better than Patton and Leo for beginners but I think Patton is easier to play than 140, it is very close though so I think this is a good list.
E50m, 430u and... Patton, perhaps? Maybe Leo? edit: Hm... I'm a little surprised to see the 140 on there. I feel like it requires more game knowledge and finesse than the Patton or Leo would...
430U was the 2nd tier X I bought and I honestly can't stand it. It seems like I'm constantly not able to decide whether I want to play it as a medium or a heavy but no matter which one I choose, it does it badly. Too slow to be an effective medium and not enough armor to be a heavy. The gun is also wildly inaccurate, feels like its actually worse than the one on the 430 was (which I also did way better in for some reason). I'm not even sure why I haven't ragesold it yet.
E50 is easier to play by a lot, since leo 1 requires you to have understanding of the game and knowledge of the maps, which is not that important if you pick E50 since you have actually gr8 armor and good HP pool. cheers
E50M: tall, weak turret, still catches fire from the front? Obj140: 320 alpha (good trades for us) maybe long exposure time, definitely catches fire from the front. BEGINNERS who wants to play in tier 10, feels like you pulled a QB one. I approve!
depends what is beginners, are you a wallet warrior monkey who skipping lines with free exp gold to get to tier 10 asap?? you're gonna have a hard time. you'll be a e100 or something camping at red line lmao
430u definitely is the champion. e50m is my favorite, I will say it's easy to play with. Last one my be i will give to Leo, since even u only konw how to snip from the back, u will enjoy yourself XD
Oddly enough I’ve never played the e50m. Seeing it in play, why would one pick the Leopard 1? Gun seems to be just as good and you have good speed, and at least some “armor”. I love the Leo 1 and maybe camo is better?
the t62a is a better alternative to the obj 140 honestly t62a has better dpm using same equipment also slightly better mobility armour is slightly worse but only by about 5-10 mms in certain spots cupola is near impossible to pen unlike the obj140 and as long as you get any soviet tier 10 tank, you instantly get access to t62a without having to spend exp
Lep definitly harder. Due there is no armor, a small mistake always cost some HP while in E50M you have chance to bounce if you can angle it correctly. Leo better in longer range and more mobile. I like both of them but E50 is a good tank for ramming😀
E-50M isn't controversial, 140 is. It is not beginner friendly tank. Low alpha damage and no armor in 2023 make it _extremely_ hard tank to play with. UDES has actually a good and reliable turret armor and it has 440 alpha damage so you can actually trade with it.
IMO the OBJ 140 has the perfect balance of armor, gun handling, and mobility. Like a ballerina with a good right hook and a steel jaw. If it had 8degrees of gun depression it’s be OP IMO. ODB 430U Gun handling is terrible IMO and E50M turret is meh as well as camo
E50 M is clearly better for beginners, but the real question is not E50 M or Leo, but 140 or rather 121. 121 has better armor now and big alpha is usually better for beginners.
My guesses are 430U, E50M. Third one is tough but I’ll go with Leo 1, although I don’t think it’s correct due to lack of armour, but noobs can redline with it at least.
I think that the usual beginner mistake are aggressively oriented like, over peaking, over pushing, lack of bush knowledge, lack of spotting mechanics knowledge like what tanks will spot you in what position. Armor might enable a beginner to get away with these mistakes.
Hi @skill4ltu I'm grinding my first medium line, and following your advice I decided to take the Russian tanks. I'm at tier 8 and Obj 140 is top of the tree. Should I go for it or take the 430U instead?
@@kurtaaron4110 but everyone says it has armor, and as a newbe you realize hell nahh... that thing is made out of paper. they pen your turret left, right, center and coupola and they shredd through your upperplate like it is nothing.
Skill, you got this thing wrong. :P Beginner friendly tank would be for example Leopard 1 - beginner would make some mistake and return to garage pretty fast. And if he is a beginner, not an idiot, he would quickly realize he should still play on lower tiers for little longer, cause he's still lacking some knowledge. How is that friendly, one may ask - well, only people friendly to you will show you your mistakes enabling you to correct them and better yourself. Tanks presented here are just "forgiving" or "idiotproof" (ofc not 100% and E50M not so much). ;) That aside, great video, especially "not sniper" 140. :D
Leo 1 is better for beginners, because if you have no armor, you stay more in the back, you stay longer alive so you have a chance to do possibly more damage. With all the rammingvideos with e50m on youtube, beginners try to yolo like some streamers.
Great advice as usual. Skill question for you regarding your purple outline of enemies. Silhouette is half filled with hill or rock shapes hiding the tank hull or front. Is this a setting option or mod? My silhouette is a hollow outline of the enemy. I end up hitting the rocks if they are not visible.
I'm a sub 20K battles player, and do better in the Leo1 than the E-50M. E-50 is master of nothing and has no place on the battlefield, look how skill got shredded to bits by tier 8 heavy in last game. But everyone understands what to do in a Leo1, and the better gun fits its playstyle perfectly.
Leopard is actually really good if you just hang back and snipe. My first and only tier X and I do better in it than when in lower tiers. So I think it should be considered beginner friendly.
Was this before the Cent. AX buff? CAX is just plain better than 140+ double the gun depression. Finding angles is so much easier with 10 degrees. Come to think of it, weather you're seasoned or new, I can't see a reason to play any of these 3 over the CAX 🤷♂️

stb-1, udes, 430u? Post video edit: I almost put e50 M instead of udes but i can see your points that armor and gun are easier to work. I'm more surprised about obj 140 instead of stb-1, but I guess obj140 armor is way better on the sides. A bit sad i did not guess mediums which are my favourite class but at least got 3/3 in tank destroyers
100% E50M is easier to play. The Leopard has camo, ungodly gun handling, and S P E E D, but E50M has some armour. I'm still on the PT A and every mistake I make is punished severely because the tank has no armour.
I am glad you chose these tanks TBH. While I feel that the UDES is better than the 430U if you know how to use it, it is certainly harder to use. The Leo 1 is very good, probably easier to play on open maps than the E 50 m, but on city maps the Leo is so much harder to play well. I enjoy some of the autoloaders but they aren't especially beginner friendly.
Thanks for the vid Skill. 430U never really worked for me. Derpy gun, bad gun depression, and meh mobility. In the T10 gold spamming meta everybody will pen you. I have much much better avg dmg with Leo 1.
@@juanzulu1318 TBH who has more than 2 brain cells could easily pen the 430U with gold ammo, just do not shoot the spaced armor on the side. The gun is far too unreliable for me, plus the 5° gun depression makes it less flexible. My vote goes for the Object 140, even if it has less armor. Still you can bounce some shots, the mobility is better, and gun is way superior even if it has only 320 alfa, but man this thing can hit shots on the move, more so than any other medium tank . The higher 440 alfa looks good on paper, but if you cannot hit the target reliably, it means nothing. None of these tanks are the best in the current meta, but the 140 is a solid and reliable machine, and I think it is not a very complicated tank to play.
@@solyomandras i disagree that the 430u is penned by gold easily. I agree that the gun is below average for a medium. But you can somewhat compensate this by equipment.
@@juanzulu1318 well 330-340 HEAT will make swiss cheese from the upper plate. Plus, because the tank is so low profile taller tanks can have better angle on the UFP. Speaking about taller tanks with 120+ mm guns, they will also overmatch the top of the hull. But I agree that with nice MM (T8-T9 opponents) you can bounce a lot. Unfortunately the 5°gun depression, and the unreliable gun kill the tank for me.

I almost put e50 M instead of udes but i can see your points that armor and gun are easier to work.
140 is definitely NOT beginner friendly tank ... no way
I am glad you chose these tanks TBH. While I feel that the UDES is better than the 430U if you know how to use it, it is certainly harder to use. The Leo 1 is very good, probably easier to play on open maps than the E 50 m, but on city maps the Leo is so much harder to play well. I enjoy some of the autoloaders but they aren't especially beginner friendly.
all meds tier 10 is good when they play with lower tiers
Thanks for the vid Skill. 430U never really worked for me. Derpy gun, bad gun depression, and meh mobility. In the T10 gold spamming meta everybody will pen you. I have much much better avg dmg with Leo 1.
430u has tough armour. Gold ammo doesnt pen easily
@solyomandras just check the "damaged blocked" stat of the 430u on the tank website.
