I feel like Savathun is gonna be looked at as the antagonist for most of the witch queen but towards the end of the campaign she explains herself and proves she is not an enemy. However the darkness/worm gods feel cheated and possess savathun forcing us to kill her.
Really glad this is gonna be an actual thing, I find it hard to watch some lore videos because I find them boring, but this makes it fun! (...maybe I really am a dummy.)
Best guess of what Witch Queen could be about. This season we take out her worm. Next season we go to rescue osiris where sagria hadn't been killed but rather studied aggressively by her to make the new ghosts. (Savathon told us she died and she lies... alot) We go save him. We kill savathon boom done. The raid is us killing calus as a darkness entity after he gave his body up in the presige mission to the darkness. They say its imprisoned which makes sense and as for ancient I don't know really but it's the closest guess.
Ill say, the events of Warmind are Nokris’ and Xol’s doing after being awakened by the traveler’s awakening. It wasnt until Nokris got killed and Xol ditched him that Savathun decided to scoop him up, purely so that she could learn necromancy
He's big brain some times, but other times he literally gets lost in space and decides to jump out of his ship and get engulfed, poisoned and tricked by the entity
It also could be theorized how savathuun got the hive ghosts. Something in the game (I think it was a lore book or voice line) that Osiris (savathuun) was getting dead ghosts from spider. She could of use nokris’ help to resurrect them with his necromancy to get the hive ghosts
Theory: worms stop the heave from wielding the light so in theory, keep in mind I am kinda new to D2 lore, Savathûn can act as a conduit for the light and share that light with her brood
If you want the story delivered in depth with dramatic narration, you go to byf. If you want the short version with some solid laughs, you come here. Both are great, both are valid and both are worth a watch. absolutely subscribing (subscribed)
We won't kill Savathun, per se, but perhaps we will reduce her to be a talking weapon whom will teach us hive magic later. She is tricky, but I feel like ultimately she has got disillusioned with the darkness as a philosophy, so she will help us fight it in some way.
The lore implications of Savathun being in possession of the Light are interesting. It could mean that the Light isn’t inherently good, as the Darkness has been shown to not be inherently evil. It’s how it’s used.
Is this what I think it is?! Finally someone who presents the story in a unique and creative way rather than just regurgitating lore entries and dialogue?! Thank God! I can listen to lore without being put to sleep!
Bungie really needs to give us at least some story options. I've been wanting to outright switch sides to Savathûn. I know I might not get that. But it means I'm at least willing to work with her and don't require needing to be tricked to do something if we have an even somewhat common goal.
My predication is that us entering the throne world is a bit like what happened in Leviathan. We're basically just entertaining Savathun to be able to eventually speak with her, which thne all will be revealed
We're here live in the Witch Queen DLC where the guardian's are facing off against Savathun and- Oh my god wait what's this? IT'S TANIKS WITH A STEEL CHAIR!
In the Dark future, Ana Bray stabs Mara Sov. Please cover this, I read through it last night and lost my mind. Drifter was found in the basement of the deep stone crypt, Eris Morn became an enemy. Everyone gave into the darkness.
I am pretty sure they already confirmed a while ago that Savathun is not the raid boss. They said that the boss Does come from a black pyramid ship. She also plans to ask the Gaurdians to help her fight her sister as Isn't the "God of war" savathun is scared of the person that her sister is working under. Plus you have to really think she had been Osiris for a long time she could have "back stabbed us or found a way to kill us and our ghost quite some time ago. She obviously needs our help. But It doesn't mean trust her completely. As everyone tells you she is a Liar. It's most likely she want's to have it set up to have her two enemies wipe each other out while she takes the least of the casualties. She plays the battle field like a chest game. She know the right moves to make and Is always moves ahead of her opponents. She can also make it seem like you have the upper hand and then pull the rug right under neigh you. Into the new expansion I see this being something that will also lead alot more in Ikora playing a big roll. She had a strong bond with Osiris and If Savathun Want's to gain the trust of the Gardians she really will have to prove Osiris is alive. Now I'm willing to bet Osiris is going to be alive but he is going to be really messed up. And Ikora will not want to help her. But others like crow, Savala, and Saint 14 will see this as she held up he side of the deal and we can't break a deal. If do break a deal that deal it could lead to some other problems down the road. But Ikora probably won't listen and let her anger control her.
Not a theory in how Savathun gets the light but on what the Lucent brood are based on. Exhibit A: Lumina, I say this due to Lumina originally being Thorn that will be remade from a hive like weapon to a weapon based on the light while still looking a bit hive like

What were the pyramids trying to tell us... that's the biggest question on my mind. Another question on my mind is what is the traveler truly after? its been around for so long now and we all now that the OG storyline for destiny was the traveler being not so good as it is now. I honestly thing that witch queen is just the tip of the iceberg for us to become acquainted with the idea of a greater evil than the hive
my theory is that once savathun gets rid of her worm she will have overcome her need to keep fighting the guardians, and now that she has the light, guardians will be able to either ally with her with their own light or venture further into the darkness out of distrust and misalignment with the traveler and what it stands for. recently i’ve been getting a big vibe from guardians that they are neither lighbearers nor wield the darkness completely. in a way they’re like the tenno and frames from the warframe video game, and if that makes sense to you, then that means that guardians aren’t necessarily followers of light or darkness and instead follow whatever power they find.
Savathun at the end of witch queen will be like; alright. I don’t need to lie to you anymore . I really need your help taking care of this thing I locked behind my house in this big pyramid. I can’t do it man help
Imagine if for the Raid it’s actually initiated as a Quest from Savathun herself, as another tidbit of “allegiance” or to start another grand plan for her.

recently i’ve been getting a big vibe from guardians that they are neither lighbearers nor wield the darkness completely. in a way they’re like the tenno and frames from the warframe video game, and if that makes sense to you, then that means that guardians aren’t necessarily followers of light or darkness and instead follow whatever power they find.
Great video as always keep up the good work
the SpaceJam basketball analogy was absolutely perfect!
The intro is top tier
Savathun at the end of witch queen will be like; alright. I don’t need to lie to you anymore . I really need your help taking care of this thing I locked behind my house in this big pyramid. I can’t do it man help
13:40 got me dead. Is that the actual voice for the fish guy in SpongeBob?
Long ass video but I haven’t played destiny 2 for many years and this helped understand everything since I got back on in December
This video was awesome....something something Savathun.
Taniks riding a worm god is actually the new dungeon boss in the anniversary pack
Bruh you had me crying when the calebcity clip showed up hes funny af 😭😭😭😭
Thank you. Thank you for the long pause in the beginning so I could simply soak in that amazing intro song. "aaahhh"😌
If Witch Queen made Hive a playable race with the Light, that would be so dope! Hey, I can have dreams
Imagine if for the Raid it’s actually initiated as a Quest from Savathun herself, as another tidbit of “allegiance” or to start another grand plan for her.
Maybe after losing the worm she will be powerless. And then she goes to the traveler, says how nice it is and gets the light
Taniks give us a very unique perspective on destiny. It's the one NPC that makes us think like an NPC.
Example:
We kill taniks.
Taniks gets revived
Us: FFS he's back again.
NPC kills us
We get revived
Npc: FFS he's back again.
