“I’m just what you made God” that part hits me deeply every time I listen to this. As an individual who has/is struggling with depression and self love it can be really easy to just say “this is who we are” when living our lives negatively or making poor decisions without any intentions of getting better. Might’ve taken it out of context but definitely how I interpreted this line, hope you all are hanging in there♥️

I think the following line: We're all troubled in a world of trouble, it's scary to have a kid walk this earth." To a parent, that line hits very different.
Saw him perform this live a few days ago in LA for Hard Summer. As everybody sang in unison while the 808’s vibrated our bodies I realized that, for the first time in my life I truly felt free. This came out in 2012 and has helped me through so many phases of life. It just felt right. Thanks Scottie

Listening to this song back when I smoked weed. It hit crazy especially when that crazy voice comes on. But since then I’ve quit smoking weed and drinking booz. Still love Cudi though. Man was cursed with depression but such a blessing to everyone. Thanks man. You’ve helped more people than your mind will ever be able to comprehend
My best friend and I got heavily into kid Cudi during summer 2020, I have amazing memories of getting high in the car while listening to this all summer long, in the heart of lockdowns. The world was crumbling all around us, but a little weed and this song made all the worries disappear.
When we say "kid cudi saved my life" we freakin mean it dude. Like really mean it. I'm not an open person who shares emotions or don't even want people to see my emotions. And i don't want to see a therapist. I just want to handle it by myself. But i always have someone who knows exactly what i feel. Like a therapist. But i don't have to talk. Because his music is speaking from it self. The emotions that i feel through out the day. Is always in some of cudi's songs. That really helps me get through the days. I can't be more thankful.. ❤
So good to see that many are still bumping to this timeless masterpiece. Song was made straight from the heart by both Cudi & Chip which we can all relate.
Been there brother.. im glad i found my answers though as muvh this songs appealing but music is just a sedative and bam ur back in that void.. im just revisiting old stuff i used to listen to back when i was feelin like u.. it was the worst phase of my life.. nothin ever satisfied my needs.. my hollow heart that kept bleeding from following what keeps me happy but never fulfilled.. getting bits and pieces of what i want but not for long keep me chasing these purple dreams.. in a drug alcohol lifestyle.. trust me man.. this music is nothin but a trap.in temporary pleasure.. being in peace with just yourself and thoughts is the ultimate state of being.. no thoughts just peace.. searching through faith searching for answers challenging my views seeking the truth.. bleed till you find it.. it is worth it man.. and its only gonna help you by hard times.. im not sayin lifes easy.. but its good to learn the essence of healing
Just pray for the man, dude has been through a lot as well as many of us have and that's what relates all of us together. He's helped me and many others get out of that dark place, and he deserves the same light we've all seen

I was 18 yo when this song came out. I grew up with adolescent rage flowing throughout my veins. Thanks Cudi for helping me realize that I’m human. I’m closer to faith in a higher power through music. I could not stand religion growing up. I could not stand the path that was laid before us. But things are different now. I’m understanding that this is the way things go for humanity. I’ve lived through many environments and in none of them have I felt as comfortable as I do now. The only thing that has changed was my mentality. Everything else has remained the same, ie we’re still human, nothing more and nothing less. Make peace with life even if you’re aware of how unfair life is to you. God bless you all.
@@-afk. thanks for your comment, I’m having a hard time coping with life and reading the last part of your comment brought light into my heart. Thanks bro
Man, I used to have this best friend named Vince. We were next door neighbors. We grew up together since we were toddlers. We did everything together. He was all I got and I was all he had. Well about a year ago, he left to go the Marines. I never see him anymore. We don't talk anymore. And it crushes me. He was all I had. This song reminds me of him and I get close to cracking tears every time it plays. "I wanna get higher, who gon' hold me down now.." He used to be there for me all the time. But we always knew we would go separate ways, it was just a matter of time. I miss you, Vince.
Hope everything’s good bro you’ll find more friends eventually just open up to some people and you’ll be surprised. Keep smoking i know it always help me keep my head right
I don't want to hop on the band wagon. But honestly whenever I listen to cudi like I used to, it takes me to a different place. My depression goes away for the moment and I just think about the good days. Senior year and I'm failing hard but this relieves the stress. Thank you Cudi

Smithereenss I don’t think he’s saying it won’t be good then. He’s saying in the future it won’t seem like a modern song.

[Verse 1: King Chip]
I'm just what you made God - not many I trust
I'ma go my own way, God, take my fate to wherever you want
I'm out here, on my son, won't stop 'til I get me some
Club-hoppin', tryin' to get me some, bad bitches wanna get me sprung
Early in the morning, I'm wakin' bakin', drinkin', contemplatin'
Ain't no such thing as Satan, evil is what you make it
Thank the Lord for that burning bush, that big body Benz I was born to push
On my way I'm burning kush, nigga don't be worried 'bout us
Neighbors knockin' on the door, asking can we turn it down
I say, "Ain't no music on" she said, "Naw, that weed is loud"
Nigga, we ballin', straight swaggin', lost Hawk, but I'm maintainin'
I've been told that I'm amazing, make sure keep that fire blazin', we livin'
[Hook: Kid Cudi]
I need smoke

I'm just what you made God, I'm just what you made
(Nee-need it) I'm just what you made God
I'm just what you made God, I'm just what you made God
[Verse 2: Kid Cudi]
Let me tell you ‘bout my month y'all, in the shop and I had a ball
I had to ball for therapy, my shrink don’t think that helps at all
Whatever, that man ain’t wearing these leather pants
I diagnose my damn self, these damn pills ain’t working fam
I- In my spare time, punching walls, fucking up my hand
I know that shit sound super cray but if you had my life you’d understand
But, I can’t fold, some poor soul got it way worse
We’re all troubled, in a world of trouble
It’s scary to have a kid walk this Earth
I’m what you made God, fuck yes I’m so odd
Thinking 'bout all my old friends who weren’t my friends all along
Hm, when it rains it pours, whiskey bottles on the sinks and floors
Everyday to find sane’s a chore, amidst a dream with no exit doors
[Hook: Kid Cudi]
I need smoke

“I’m just what you made god”.
As a man who’s been struggling with faith his whole life. Tracks like this help make sense of the chaos.
A creature thinking that it smarter than the God.
Everytime I listen to this song, I start to imagine myself literally flying out of the universe, and mind you, I'm not high lol

In a similar situation, except I got other people now. Still feels wrong...
