I replaced my stock tires with these and cannot be more satisfied 700x32 at 84psi I'm in heaven, i ride about 60 to 70 miles a week . Best upgrade to date on my bike
I just rode the 32mm Gatorskin for the first time. A 65-mile ride.
They’re fine. The ride was acceptable . The tire was grippy enough. I understand that Gatorskins are about toughness, not racing speed. But that’s fine; I’m not racing up the Pyrenees and my speed was adequate. I would not, however, ride them in the rain if I could avoid it.
I put 28mm Gatorskins on my two road bikes. Again, they’re fine. But I did get a puncture last week. A teeny-tiny piece of wire got in. Fortunately, a tube change is a 10-minute job.
Supprised you got a flat. But at least it is easy enough to change.
I've done my 28mm in once when riding at 60 psi on a very rocky trail(tire pressure was way too low). Sharp rock pinch flatted it. Done the same trail at 75 psi without issues since. 12 year old tires, mileage unknown 2000kms-ish. Never had an issue with traction, even in Canadian winters. Found them to be quite predictable in snow up to 30cm deep(so long as it wasn't super wet and sticky cause that became a Tokyo drift experience).
I bought a Bianchi San Jose new in 08 and have literally changed every part on it over the last 12 years. One thing that has not changed are the tires, I started working at a LBS and was turned on to the Gatorskins. Started running them in 25mm and now in 32. I commuted without a car for 8 years on this bike in the Detroit area, which means tore up roads littered with all manner of tire flattening objects. In that time I had ONE flat and it was a pinch flat on a pothole. The best tire I have ever ran durability wise hands down. I ran a pair of Bontrager R3's in 32 this summer, rode like a magic carpet but suffered 3 flats. Now back to the Gatorskins.
R3 is faster, but how fast can it be if you get a flat? Good choice on the Gator Skins.
@@Jamesthebikeguy Those R3's do roll like butter, so smooth. I'm an old geezer now, much willing to trade some speed for not having to fix a flat however.
Bought the black edition folded version yesterday for my hybrid and I think they are very good for my use, I ride in nyc all urban riding.
these are my spring summer fall tyres on my commuter bike
That's a good choice, probably never get flats
Nice and brief.
Just bought the 32mm black edition tires for my 2021 Émonda. Have never gotten a puncture riding gatorskins.
Do you find them to roll fast on the tarmac? Looking for durability, but not a significant loss in speed.

Does anybody know what the height is of the inflated tire? Can't find it anywhere for the 32mm. Usable information to know if it fits within your frame!
My tyres are some 700x35c ficcini cheap and amazing paid £19 for both with puncture protection
ゲータースキン最高👍😆👌ご紹介ありがとうございます😊🙆♂️

Отличная резина! - Приятных покатушек!
Да. Спасибо!
James, what was the internal width of the rim that you used in this review? This information would be helpful for a true prediction of the width on other bikes. Thanks.
They are great tires! How wide is the rim on your rims? I heard that wider rims rims reduce rolling resistance if that is true??
I haven't had a flat in four years
nice!
Did u use these tires
@@easyduck7081 lol yes
It just means you don't ride much of not enough.
would you suggest me this of a trip 95% road and 5% simple Gravel?
Yeah it could do that type of riding well.
I currently ride GP5000s on my Tarmac disk pro SL6 and had another puncture today. Roads here in Las Vegas are amazing but there is a lot of building work all over the valley and there seems to be glass, wire, sharp stones ect ect laying around.
A week ago I rode over glass and I had to replace my GP5000s and now a puncture again today. I was running specialized tubes and just changed them to continental tubes now.
I’m hoping with the continental tubes it might help as they are definitely thicker.
However, my question is will gator skin tires slow me down on my rides? I like to train for distance and speed....kinda challenge my friends on strava..lol
I would like to change to gators but worried they will slow me down a lot.
follow up?...I too currently use GP5000s...excellent tires, but soft...relocated from LA to Georgia, and though I ride a road bike, sometimes the road goes gravel, ant the GPs can't handle
@@bcampbell0011 hey, I use Mr Tuffy ultra thin tire liners and never had a single flat since 😁😁😁😁😁
Best thing I’ve ever bought!!
And I’m so much faster on my rides now.
I guess it’s because I ride with so much confidence now lol
Highly recommend them.
best fixed gear street skit tire - 100 % bulletproof. I have the 25 mm version.
Awesome!
Im planning to put this on my marlin 5 2020 for commuting
Nice, will be a good durable tire for that
Jamesthebikeguy where are u located i want you to review my fuel ex and remedy both 2020
I found them to ride terrible and a bit draggy, and sliced two in the winter on glass shards to the point where they became unusable. while such bad cuts are always luck/bad luck, i still wasnt really fond of them. switched to marathon supreme 32mm for winter riding and i have to say i really like them. only ~30 grams heavier, very grippy and the sidewalls are surpisingly comfy. pretty much feel like a pro one with just more rubber on them.
You know that they ain't terribly expensive.
is it okay in like 10-15% gravel?
Should be fine in those conditions.
Done any gravel on these, maybe 32c
I have not.
Geez Bike Guy...It would have been nice to have a frontal view of the tire mounted on the rim, you had it there. The other was no mention of this tire being tubeless ready. I guess not.
No mention of tubeless because it isn't.
i think marathon plus is more puncture proof but i think gatorskins are lighter and quicker.Gatorskins often as time progresses its important to check for shards of glass embedded in the surface.Marathon is so bullet proof nothing gets through it.I run marathon on back and gatorskin on front.Had no punctures in 2 yrs.
What version of the marathon do you ride on the front and what made you come to this idea?
@@tylerfields2368 this is an old post of mine. I now run marathon originals as the plus version felt dead to ride.
@@ianpearson8976 just regular Schwable marathon? There's many versions. I'm indecisive between Schwable marathon vs Continental gator skin. Currently wanna drop from a 45c to 32c
@@tylerfields2368 I'd go with continental ride tour for that width
@@ianpearson8976 I wanna get 32c. So your last take, the continental hardshell or ride tour? I ain't entering no cycling races or nothing haha
what's the internal width of the rim?
20mm
@@JrsGasolineAlley would 17mm be ok?
Where did you get that information, did you recognize the specific rim in this video? Thanks.@@JrsGasolineAlley
Its a tank😂been using it for 2 years zero flat😅😊😊
