The dark green wool fitted dress is STUNNING and looks incredible on you.
Exactly what I was thinking!
It's also very Joan from Mad Men, which is just goals tbh.
Absolutely! You look bomb in that dress. And it also looks soo comfy. 😍
Seriously, that was jaw-dropping!
My thoughts exactly!
I know you won't hear this unless you are in the right mindset to hear this, but you truly look amazing in all of your dresses. Don't worry about the "Goals Dresses" not fitting quite right. weight is not important, what is important is that you fuel yourself in a way that keeps you happy and healthy. For you having Celiac, that is a little bit harder than most. A weight or dress size isn't the goal, the goal is a happy, healthy Angie

So true! Also: since the weightgain is due to medication, not a general issue with eating unhealthy...it‘ll likely sort itself out over time.
But I get the frustration. I‘m having some hormonal issues due to endometriosis and holy cow...I just put on 10 pounds in less than 2 months, just because I took a hormon replacement, that didn’t really agree with me. I‘m so glad it’s rather cold now...heat/short clothes and weight gain do not go together very well 😆
So true, and also, if she fitted that dress, think of all the other cute ones that would then be too big.
That is so sweet to say!!! You are right all the way.
100% truth.
This was so beautiful to read!!
Hearing “vintage” and “1980’s” in the same sentence still blows my mind. My first child was born in the 80’s.
Technically anything 20+ years old is vintage. So I really cringe about "vintage" 90s items.
colombepetite me too.
I was born in '85, so I feel ya.
@@raetetemanza6660 I came along in early '87 :)
I was born in the 50's, so I lose my hearing everytime that word is used in relation to that decade. LOL
The week of random content continues (and ENDS) with a video where I try on (almost) EVERY dress that I own, most of which are from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. This was kindly sponsored by poshmark! I'm an avid shopper on poshmark, but a new seller and excited to share some of the items that don't suit me but need good homes @ poshmark.com/closet/angelacostumery :)
PS: New Barbie video coming on Sunday! Thanks for all the kind comments and patience with me this week :)
I have loved your random content videos! Thank you for sharing all of this with us!
I actually quite like the random videos and vlogs you do. Its a nice change from the usual (but still lovely) sewing videos. Would it be too much to ask to see a video on the other items of clothing in your wardrobe? Like tops, bottoms, shoes etc. I just really love your style. ❤
@@AngelaClaytonCostumery I have thoroughly enjoyed the random content. Thank you so very much.
what happened to the 40s floral rayon dress you drafted and made (beige with white flowers) and the hat you made. I love that dress. I have that dress on my wish list but not in beige. btw you look lovely in the wiggle dresses.
The "wiggle" dresses look beautiful on you. They flatter your shape a lot. They're all lovely though.
I honestly prefer the dresses from the older years to dresses we have now. They are so beautiful and have basic but flattering designs. I loved every single dress in your wardrobe! I hope we can get more videos like this in the future ❤
“This dress I should probably sell, but I’m not going to BECAUSE IT HAS PUPPY DOGS ON IT”
So relatable :)
That green body con dress is so Joan from Mad Men! You look lovely in it!
I had that exact same thought !!!
That was my first thought!
@@baricala Great minds think alike -- and apparently binge watch the same Netflix shows !! : ) Joan could wear a dress !!
"It is white as hell, so basicly me in a dress" girl im CRYING 😂😂😂😂
Angela you really suit the wriggle dresses you need to make more xx
Especially that green one! So flattering and fit like it was made for her!
Hi, just some friendly tips. I lived through the 50s, 60s, and 70s, so on. Anything with a waist and gathered is before the 60s. The dress you showed with the long darts at the waist and high bodice in dark green is early 60s. After mid 60s it was higher hem, a lines or high- waisted. Jackie Kennedy suits were popular (Chanel style). Also the twiggy look with Peter Pan collars or turtleneck sweaters with slim skirts. Back to gathers skirts, think Grease the movie, set in the late 50s.
You have impeccable fashion taste!!!!!!
While your modesty deserves to be respected, please know you look equally stunning in the wiggle dresses, the form-fitting ones, the somewhat shorter ones and the ones you naturally feel more comfortable in.
This is so true.
That “made by Marilyn“ plaid wrap dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! The neckline is very flattering.… This is fun I’m glad you’re sharing your closet with us!
The plaid "Marilyn" dress was VERY flattering for your figure. Off the shoulder, pleaded bias top and full spin skirt🙋👍🌹
I love watching this type of videos from people who also sew because they pick up on such interesting details in each of the garments! This was a huge inspiration for my autumn wardrobe sewing plans, thank you so much for putting it together.
How wonderful to be so STYLISH. These are classics that I would wear myself!!! The plaid number in the intro is STUNNING!!!
Burgundy corduroy - Va-va-voom!
The 50’s ... all about the sheath and, hint, hint, many layered petticoats!
Oh my! I didn’t realize, you had that many dresses!
But I guess, it makes sense, if dresses is what you mainly wear. I can’t even decide, which one is my favorite. I love the ones, with really bold, extravagant fabric, but some of the vintage ones also looked so very nice on you.
Your remodeled bedroom makes for a nice backdrop now, btw. It’s kinda neutral, with the white doors and wall, but has some vintage-y/decorative elements on the sides. Works very well for me as a viewer 👍
Thank you for sharing your lovely collection! I also collection vintage clothing. The unique and fun details of vintage garments always amaze me, not to mention the superb craftsmanship.
Dark reds and navy blues/greyish blues look so good on you, I'm amazed. Also, 100% yes to the puppies in baskets, that is so adorable :)
every single dress you modeled is gorgeous on you, btw. the bodycon dresses are jaw-dropping!
I wish I could look half as good in a form fitting dress!
I think the basque waist dress is stunning, I haven't seen that style in a casual dress before and it's gorgeous.
I think a "goal dress" or a certain clothing fit is much healthier than focusing on numbers. BMI charts are useful as general guides for healthcare workers, but don't account for everyone's individual body type, bone to muscle to fat ratios and so on. Given your goal dress is pretty close to fitting, it's probably a very safe and healthy way to measure your progress and will help you avoid getting side tracked by what the scale says. Sometimes we can technically gain 2lbs of water weight while losing two inches on our waist; so I think it' better to look at it from the perspective of how one's current body shape relates back to an un-changing real world object.
Very true. We can gain and lose pounds, but it doesn't always equate to the type of gain or lose of inches. We can gain or lose in different areas, at different amounts. So it's better to focus on how your clothes fit & feel, less about numbers. Like Angela, I sew my own clothes, and all I care about is getting the dimensions right. I don't weigh myself, nor do I obsess over the size I have to cut from a given pattern.
I have literally see NOBODY wear that Hell Bunny sailor dress In real life and only had approximate length measurements to go off of. I'm so glad it fits you! I was so hesitant about the length because I WILL NOT wear skirts higher than knee length often enough to justify buying them, but Sailor Moon kicked off a sailor themed obsession. I may be inspired to purchase it now
The navy blue sailor style dress is the absolute best !!! You look awesome in it!
when I saw the bright orange dress you made towards the end, I realized that i have been watching your channel a long time. Loved seeing your dresses.
Angela you make those dresses look fabulous. You always look like you stepped out of a lovely vintage catalogue or magazine. Don't sell yourself short you look so beautiful in all of your dresses.
I love your videos. Keep em coming. Whether sewing or vintage or anything that makes you smile
I loved all of the dresses!! Start wearing the more fitted dresses and you will gain much more confidence as you will be getting MANY compliments on them. They looked beautiful on you and really did show the appeal of the era. Many thanks for putting on and changing so many times so we could see your closet! It was fun and took me back to my youth!
The new furniture looks SO good!!
I love every one of your dresses. They bring back so many memories for me, as I grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. They made dresses with really feminine details back then. They all look amazing on you. 😊
That olive green wool bodycon looks positively stunning on you! The color and fit are simply perfect!
I've been loving the more "random" content! It's a lot of fun getting to see your personality more!
You could add a red section to the bottom of that red/white polka one, it'd look great!
My favourite on you was the red tartan, perfect shape :D
Your dresses are adorable. They look so good on you. Thank you for sharing them with us.
All the dresses look so beautiful.. love the purple one 😍
I love the navy with the soutache braid.
QUEEEEEN!! The weird mossy green fitted dress is the most gorgeous thing
I am still obsessed with the white ruffle dress! I saw it when you bought it in one of your vlogs! It's so sweet!
OMG! You have such astounding vintage dresses!!!😍Each looked fabulous! I love vintage styles I wish the styles from those eras would come back to me the fashion of today is too non script I guess I was born too late since I have a fondness for 49’s 50’s & 60’s I truly enjoyed this video you have amazing taste 💗
You speak way too fast...hard for this elderly woman to keep!
Gosh!
A dress for every day of the year!
Many dresses brought back such wonderful memories of the vintage outfits I wore in the 80s and 90s.
Wonderful collection.
Your own makes are Slam'n.
When I found dresses a touch tattered, I would cut them up and copy them.
Feel confident, you are young and beautiful and perfect 😚
No need to feel self conscious about your figure, it’s amazing. You have the natural shape that belongs in the 40s and 50s. I enjoy your bubbly personality and just now found your channel so I’m binge watching!
Thank you for trying on almost all of your dresses. It was delightful to watch! I loved hearing your opinions about the details of each one.
What a fabulous dress wardrobe - it's impossible to choose a favorite! Although the pink dress with the front embroidery and back detail is a contender. Tfs💞
The blue one with the flower collar is the cutest! So vintage and cute! It gives me summer vibes too
Thank you Angela for presenting to us all of your vintage dresses.
I truely appreciate your patience in changing into every dress you own.😊👗👒👛🥰
you look gorgeous in all the dresses but sugar, those wiggle dresses are PERFECT on you your figure is so amazing! you pull off poised and elegant so well and naturally, modeling the dresses you look like you walked right out of a period magazine shoot. Your wardrobe and makeup/hair are goals
Love this video! I think all the dresses look great!! I’ve always loved seeing the ones you make in the brightly patterned fabrics and it was nice to see the rest!
8:30 is my FAVOURITE!!! Looks amazing, I wish we'd seen the whole thing! Great video though :) x
Such a fun video. Loved the dresses you made and so many of the vintage looks. Lovely.
Thank you! This was so enjoyable to watch, and I feel I learned a lot about vintage dresses. You look amazing in these dresses.
such pretty dresses! I really love all the ambroidery and intricate stitching
I agree with the previous comment. In spite of what you may believe, your figure is amazing...period. I really enjoy your videos, and though I am a seasoned sewist of 33 years, I always manage to learn something from them. Keep up the good work.
Iam so envious. What a fantastic range of dresses. They all look perfect on you.
HOLY COW! That was so fun to watch..thank you for taking the time to make this video. I would give anything to have a wardrobe like this! Your knowledge of the craftsmanship made this so enjoyable.
Thank you so much for the tour of your closet! I wear dresses 70% of the time and you have inspired me to make or purchase some additions that are far more attractive than the items I currently have. I love all the different styles!
I LOVED this video, it was wonderful to be able to see all of your vintage dresses. I thoroughly enjoyed this, thank you for all your labor to make this happen.

This is the video I didn't know I wanted. Love all the vintage!
All of the dresses look lovely on you! Love your vintage style!
Your wardrobe is so beautiful!! I love all of these.
Every single dress is simply adorable on you! Thanks so much for sharing with us. I would have been exhausted changing into so many dresses. You look exceptionally beautiful in that red dress with the tiny polka dots, stunning! You are amazing and so talented!
You look great in all of your dresses. I feel the most beautiful dresses are the ones that you sewed...so fun and unique. Thanks.
That red dress looks like a 70’s Gunne Sax dress I have in a similar style just in velvet ! So excited to see that dress and so jealous ! 🖤
It's so cool to see all the dresses you've made videos about pop up and to be able to say that I watched you make them 💙
You look amazing the formfitting dresses - and all the others! 😍 Absolutly beautiful dresses that you own.

The lavender horizontal striped dress looked adorable.I loved the puppies too! Who can resist puppies and kitties?
Hi, I love your fashion it brings back so many pleasant memories, I am 71 years old female. Good job
EVERY DRESSS YOU WEAR YOU LOOK SOOO STUNNING
I wish I was this enthusiastic about my wardrobe. I liked your video a lot because of your enthusiasm and the unique dresses you showed. I feel inspired to get rid of the old stuff in my closest and buy some nice dresses that actually fit me.
What a collection! I especially loved the olive green fitted dress, the red polka dot peasant dress and the black/ star print dress you made yourself.
Girl! You look great in the fitted dress!! Stand tall and wear with attitude 😎
That sailor dress looks amazing on you!!
This is my favorite video of all! And the forest green fuzzy wiggle dress...gorgeous lady!!!
Per what you say at the very end, No! Don't regret filming this video. Thank you for taking the time! Everything looked very nice!
I'm not as into wearing dresses as I used to be, but watching this makes me want to wear one! I only have 5 in my wardrobe currently 😂
You look great in all of them , especially the olive green dress and not just because green is my fave colour.
LAMP LOOKING GOOOOD!
I love you in those stronger, deeper colours - you look phenomenal in navy! And those wiggle dresses on you...wow. I know they take some confidence, but Angela, they look amazing on you! xx
I LOVE the two dressed back to back that were red or white the first one looks like it was made for you
So many gorgeous dresses!
Love the navy dresses! 😍
Girl you rock those body con dresses! You look so cute in all these dresses. You've chosen well.
The little white dress with red polka dots and red piping that you said was 6 inches too short would look so cute with a ruffle at the bottom if you could match the red... I know exactly what a task that would be - matching the reds. Just an idea
Thats a great idea! That could work on a ton of dresses. Even just to add a bit of flare to a dress that fits great but is a little bland.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Great minds!
I was also thinking if you don't want to change anything on the dress... what about an under half slip with a ruffled bottom?
You know what? You ma'am are a genious
I had the same thought. And if you don't want to alter a vintage dress, a "slip" can be made and worn to give the appearance of length.
you looked beautiful in all the dresses!!!
Loved watching this video Angela. It took you a long time but it was great seeing all of the variations in styles.
If it doesn’t fit, get rid of it. You are perfect.
The sailor dresses are SO cute. I love all of these. I love the story of the first one you bought!
