Haha, pretty sure that’s the exact freezer we just bought. This is also the first upright freezer organization video I’ve watched bc if you don’t search “upright” the videos that show up are all bottom freezer organization videos.
It's a great freezer! Plus no digging the the great abyss of the chest freezer anymore!
If you make a cardboard label and punch holes in each side, you can use small zip ties through the basket holes and the label holes to attach them 🤗🤗😍
Great idea thank you! Those stickers didn’t last 5 minutes in the cold 🥶
@@TealHouseFarm yes, that sticky back stuff doesn't like the cold 🤷🏼♀️💕
For chest freezer storage I sewed denim bags from old jeans. I made them the depth of the freezer front to back then divided the width and made the bags an inch or two taller than the width figured out to put them side by side in the freezer. We keep several layers bags stacked up. (We also buy meat in bulk so we have 1/4 beef or 1/2 pork in there stacked in the bags.)
Bonus for me the bags also work in our upright to help hold things on the shelves.
That is a great idea! Thank you for sharing 😊
Feels so go to be organized. I am like you, I can't see putting a lot of money in baskets. I love the color you chose.
Thanks! Got lucky with the color…it was the only choice 😂
The upright freezer is so much easier to use.
Great idea using the chest for feed storage.
It is! It’s nice not having to dig around in the chest freezer every time I need something
Looks good and more room to freeze
Yes it’s the biggest freezer we could fit through the door 🤣
Love it!🌟
Thank you!
Can’t wait to see the new mudroom
Me too! It’s getting there a little at a time 😀
Stick your bacon in the gaps like I do! You got a deal on the sterilite baskets 👍🏻
Good idea!
We have done the same with our freezers... The only thing is the plastic bins only last a couple years. Ours have cracked in the chest and upright... will go with heavier duty ones like your white ones next time.
Thanks for the tip!
Gaps are good for air flow -- packing stuff too close restricts airflow and causes the freezer to run more often.
I didn’t know that…great tip!
In our experience it's a lot easier to lose the contents of upright freezers-praying that doesn't happen to you! After losing the contents of ours several times we went back to the chest style
Oh no! Hopefully not 😬. I just have such a hard time reaching the bottom of the chest freezer. Maybe I need to a grow a few inches!
@@TealHouseFarmI hear you on the difficulties of reaching the bottom! we ended up using square cat litter buckets in our chest freezer. They're heavy duty enough to handle the cold and being jostled around but they don't waste the space 5 gallon buckets do.
Since your upright is newer I'm supposing it has an alarm? Our storage is just so far from the main areas of the house that we didn't always hear the alarm. If it has a lock I recommend using that every time! It's a pain but we has losses from things shifting inside and pushing against the door as well as helpful kids who didn't get the door quite shut but if you establish that locking habit first thing then hopefully you can avoid those problems. And put that teensy key on a ridiculously ostentatious ring, lol! 😊
