Check out the project link in the description for more details. Quick videos for now since I've been pretty busy but hoping to finish the RSVP series real soon.
I usually take 3rd when riding from Chinatown/ID to Belltown/Westlake, but this improvement makes me want to ride on 4th more often. Thank you for posting the up-to-date video.
Interesting, I've never taken third to not conflict with all the buses. Do they ever give you trouble
@@BestSideCycling I've run into a few bad bus drivers, but all in all I like having two full lanes to ride on. It's a bit flatter than 2nd Ave, too.
Lookin good!
so happy to see the concrete barriers!
You and me both
I ride that route all the time. Great to see some real protection!
Yes! Actual protected bike lanes let's gooo
So great to see these rolling out across the city. Thanks for yet another fun peek at new infrastructure going up around Seattle! What's that thing at 0:41 where the guy runs the red and veers left onto Prefontaine towards Yesler? Looks like an electric bike towing a tiny multi-wheeled trailer?
Is a scooter towing a trailer. Haha 🤣 he swivels as he goes
I would love to know what the plan is between Spring and Madison- no idea why there is what look to be 4 bike lanes.
Stuck on the red light going up the hill will be…awkward…
Haha this has happened to me so many times
just noticed this, its poppin off!
Love it! Popping off with safe cycling infrastructure
@@BestSideCycling by the way, when it comes to residential streets NE 55th St between 5th and Latona is absolutely one of the steepest i've dealt with.
I'm not sure about this, Hanoch. Shouldn't the bike lanes be one way in the same direction as traffic? One slip bumping into those pillow barriers could toss a rider right into traffic.
I haven't ridden these ones yet, but at least on 2nd which is similar, I much prefer it when I'm riding against the flow of traffic since I don't have to worry about a driver coming up from behind and turning left into me
I agree. The entire design seems sketchy at best, and an accident waiting to happen at worst.
yikes, that bike lane to the left of a left-turn lane at the intersection of Columbia is asking for trouble with Seattle drivers! It's also very susceptible to the light changing at the wrong moment (and Seattle drivers not paying enough attention, something they do without complicating matters with cyclists going straight ahead on their left). That is not a good design IMHO. Please be careful out there.
